From what I've seen, men's lib ultimately believes that men's problems are caused by those men. Since it's their own fault, they can be helped once they aren't deserving of death as much. Menslib seems to hate men, including themselves, either consciously or unconsciously. That being said, I don't really read that sub, so I'm not that qualified to answer the question. I've never posted or commented there either.

At the end of the day, with some lip service to a bit more masculine men, what they actually seem to mean by 'all men' is intersectionality, i.e. a hodge-podge of what are approved 'oppressed groups' by the woke high priests. Not cishet white men who like to remain that way; let alone single men who'd love to be more heterosexually active, men duped by divorce courts or in an abusive relationship with a woman, men harmed by feminists or by unfair affirmative action etc. God forbid you could 'liberate' men by addressing those issues.

I've posted about this on this account, actually on /r/mengetrapedtoo, but on a former account I posted a personal story concerning sexual assault and injustice on /r/menslib and the moderator took what was probably the most stereotypical, ironically patriarchal response of "Bro, don't post that shit here, go get help" rather than allow it to be published.

It's not just menslib though, I've found that all gender ideologues tend to fail to be genuine supporters or advocates. There is a fundamental problem with any group that avoids genuine experience and reality or performs highly ideological 'takes' on reality to avoid having to contend with their errors or uselessness.

That place can be an enigma sometimes. But frankly I think that place is a mix of well meaning guys that truly do want to help men, men who are lost and will accept just about anything cleverly disguised as help, men who pretty much hate men, and men that think the approval of women is all that men should look forward to.

Your assessment is correct, u/goldenjuniper. This likely stems from their internalization of the feminist theory of the patriarchy view of men as damaged and hegemonic creatures who can't stop hurting themselves, and therefore need to reinvent themselves.

They will deny it to the end of the Earth, but their view is functionally: "Women's problems are created by men, a men's problems are also created for men." Double-serving of guilt with a side of misandry for you, dear!

This is both extremely funny and extremely sad at the same time because the point they are making is very true, but the truth is the polar opposite of what the thread makes it out to be. Their brand of self-flagellating, guilt-ridden, urban middle-class professional "liberation" is very comforting for men who are either woke, or BIPOC, or gay, or trans, and first of all, profeminist. They are blind to how they are excluding or offering nothing of value to an average straight man who doesn't fit into one of their special status victim groups.

Men and masculinity are under attack from all sides today, including people who are running many of the so-called "men's centers".

I've had this discussion with an ML mod before. They have a policy of heavy moderation to make a welcoming environment for marginalized people. Which I get, and I'm glad places like that exist. But I'm also glad that it's not the only place that exists.

I think their moderation is overly restrictive. I think they sometimes misidentify marginalized groups, and even when they have correctly identified marginalized groups they seem to think there is only one correct way to help them and any other way is evidence of bigotry.

MensLib is a great place to discuss certain limited topics in certain limited ways. But on the whole I think it is not the best place for men to get help.

Menslib is a feminist sub :that s the intention behind it and the one the current mod team pushes.I am not a mod so i can t confirm nor deny unwaranted ban, although what might be "criticism" to you might be seen as anti-femijist trolling.It depends on what you said and even if i knew what you said, it would be py moral compass.

From what i see however the main difference between this sub and menslib is that they aim at liberating themselves from limitations of male roles.They do know that both men and women uphold it,but this sub tends to emphasize women s part in that, while menslib look more inward.

Frankly i prefer their approach as i don t believe in blaming other for my problem, although some poster do go overboard on their approach.That said they are not single minded:i ve seen noth tendency there, some poster being downvoted for men blaming stuff, etc.

From what I've been told and seen, r/menslib is ran by soyboys. These are actually male feminists who claim to be for men's rights but they are among those who blame the 'patriarchy' and talk about 'toxic masculinity' and basically say men's issues are the result of men and the 'patriarchy'. So they aren't actually men's rights advocates because they are close minded and brainwashed into believing that they are evil because they oppress women and their own kind.

this is left wing male advocates why do we let right wing criticism. Also what problems do we have that are caused by feminism ? Any problems we face specifically for being men specifically is caused by toxic masculinity, other problems are aren't are for other things such as class, race, or disability etc.

We need to stop focusing so much on feminism and work towards building a men's movement form men by men that helps men and boys.
