You see this alot in reform programs for women. Its readily accepted that when women commit crimes, especially violent crimes, they are actually found to be victims of something....like abusive partners who forced them into it, or the closest man around oppressing them in some way, or some other desperate circumstance.

Take for example Mary Winkler who shot her husband in the back with a shotgun and served 7 months and then got custody of her kids. It probably would have been even less but the trial took about 5 months. She wasnt a deranged animal (like a man would have been), she was an abused spouse...a victim... desperate for salvation.

No shit, she even got her job back at the laundry place. Must be nice to lack so much privilege.

Anyways, Im not trying to be anecdotal. Thats just the completely different way people view women who commit crimes vs men. Women are fallen angels who just need help. Men are animals who if they fall off a very narrow path and refuse to die quietly in the gutter....then they need to be put down. But almost never a victim.

Well yes and no. I think this effectively applies to most people but there are some people who will just choose crime when they absolutely didn't have to. Also, there are literal psychopaths who don't need a reason to be violent.

Having said that I absolutely agree with what you have said and do think men's issues need to be properly addressed.

When men are not able to hold a steady job they are not seen as worthy or valuable, they don't belong anywhere. When they sell drugs and get dough, or use violence to gain power, people, especially women, respect and admire them more, and suddenly they have prospects. It's more than money, it's respect, sex, love, a family. This is why the hypergamy instinct and women's own instincts needs to be held for account. Feminists would call this toxic masculinity, but it is women who select for this stuff and endorse men's most toxic instincts. The equivalent simply does not exist in men's desires for their female partners. The dominant traits they seek are youth and beauty, and maybe purity, which are not traits that in any way encourage crime and in fact remove the economic incentive for crime by providing for the women in their lives.

This is an incredibly optimistic and naive vision of society, the same one defended by Rousseau.

Books like Ordinary Men by Christopher Browning clearly show that given the right circumstances, 99% of us could have become Nazi guards at Auschwitz and even derived pleasure from it.

Men (and women) have an extremely strong proclivity to evil and sadism and it's important to realize that we have this in us - that we are loaded weapons that need to be tamed.

Those who do not think that they are dangerous are the most dangerous ones, because they do not know how far they can go.

Global aid is massively gendered to women, to the point where they dont feed men and dont educate boys (there are more boys out of school than girls).... the justification is that you get more return by helping a woman as it lowers birth rate, changes family etc.... I think there is a ethical issue there, although I do accept that arguement (if it can actually be proven not just feminsts bull data).... however, the same arguement can be made that we sholud focus on men and their educaiton, and welfare doe same reason... less crime, less homelessness, less drug taking, less alcholism, less suicide

I made a similar point on Vaush's subreddit. Basically I was saying that a lot of so called "toxic masculinity" is really just men responding to their material conditions. Violence is almost never someone's first choice, but a lot of dudes find themselves in situations where they have no other option. You would see women behaving in similar ways if they had the lack of social support that men do.

Of course I was called an incel and a misogynist, which is pretty weird because I was making a leftist argument. But I guess hating men comes first and foremost to these so called "socialists."

This summer in Italy we had a very strange and misterious crime involving a mother and her kid Gioele. It is not very clear but apparently she killed her kid and then committed suicide. At first police and people refused to think she might have killed him and looked for other reasons, like her being killed by her husband or wild animals but investigations seem to point to her killing Gioele and then committing suicide. She apparently suffered of depression and paranoia and she was struggling with mental issues.

At the same time every once in a while we hear about "femminicide" and often a man kills her wife/gf and then commit suicide, but we don't hear about mental issues or "justifications" for the crime. It's pretty clear that if a person kills another and then commit suicide there are pretty serious mental issues involved, but we don't hear that. The "reasons" are left unaddressed.

In summary if a woman commits a serious crime it's because of mental issues or her struggling with other issues; if a man kills his wife we don't hear about mental issues or anything and it's just called femminicide ( which implies misoginy, patriarchy and possess).

Of course, this should not deny the reality of on one hand, everybody's own responsibility and on the other hand, different brains and different hormones. Some brains (not only men's) are even wired in such a bizarre way personal responsibility is hardly possible anymore.

But yes, lots of crimes, and other things people do, are largely the result of what happened in their lives and the position they're in now. But understanding and forgiveness, totally normal things a few decades ago and even a bit exaggerated in the '70s, have become old-fashioned in the age of identity politics and social media. O yes, you'll be excused for your crimes if you're 'oppressed', then that is always the cause. But for more complicated causes and results people have no time and patience anymore.

If only we would look at problems and try to fight them with empathy and help. Instead we have people on the right who essentially think that black/poor/men people are inherently violent and bad, who should get any transgressions punished out of them, and on the left there are the exact same type of people, but for them it applies to men.

I wonder at what point the woke-crowd will realize that black men are victims of both racial and gender issues. It will definitely take some time, and their insane focus on race will likely make it such that a focus will be on people with the colour they like, instead of all of those who need it, but hopefully it will end with more social programs - perhaps enforced through anti discrimination legislation..

Some people want things they don’t have a right to take or possess. Or, they think physical violence is a just response to a shattered ego. Understandable, since the ego thing can feel like one is being murdered. The extent to which sex, hormones and nurturing all come into play when a person can’t control their physical rage is interesting. Though I think examining it should come from a place of compassion and a desire for knowledge rather than anger or contempt.

I know criticising the problems of inner city black culture is strictly taboo, but I have to question why inner city men are so much more violent than country men?

The narrative is that they are so poor and have no opportunities, but isn't that true for men in the deep south as well? I don't see black or white men in the south turning to violent crime because they're poor.

So I'm curious what needs you think aren't being met in inner cities that turn men into criminals that are being met in less populated areas that aren't turning those men into criminals?
