I’m 27 years old and new to an engineering team, working with 90% women. Most of the women completely ignore me when we have social events together, but laugh among themselves. I treat them kindly and ask them questions to try to spark conversation, but they never ask about me. One thing to note is that older women have always treated me better than younger women. I get along great with the women in their 40s-60s, but women in their 20s-30s treat me like I’m subhuman.

Just seems like most women in my area (New England) are pretty far left feminists who treat most guys like garbage unless the guy is very attractive. Through my 27 years of life, that has appeared true among the several thousand women I met and got to know to a certain degree.

Over the last 5 years, it seems like men have been treated less and less fairly in the workplace. Harder to get promoted due to gender equity initiatives, and men are isolated since they are greatly outnumbered. This is corroborated with the recent college data - women far outnumbering men in number of college graduates. I know a handful of men in my industry who say the same thing. I still do very well for my age, but this is concerning to experience. Anyone else feel similarly?
