I'm late to this party, but I'm not surprised. Apparently some guys started an "Are We Dating the Same Girl" group directly inspired by the original. Predictably, the women of the original hated that idea.

I dont agree with the gossip and unnecessary defamation that sometimes happens in this group. HOWEVER, the purpose of the original group is to protect women from serial narcissists, abusers, catfish, situations of sexual assault from men. Everyone is entitled to the right to defend themselves but unfortunately in today's day and age, nobody discloses anything. Part of the problem is some ppl are so good at being deceptive, these groups are necessary. I understand there are women who do the same thing. You should be able to post both genders to be honest. I know a woman who was part of the group on Facebook and had been dating a man for 4 months. She's a mom and has 2 kids. She found out from the group the man is a pedophile on the sex offender registry and has a history of trying to scam single mothers to get access to young children. She found out this information from the Facebook group. It sucks were so limited in canada. This is why the sex offender registry should be made public as well. So people can protect their children and confirm these details. The spread of misinformation is also an issue. But when children are involved, better safe than sorry. Just my opinion as someone who knows somebody personally who dodged a bullet by being part of the group.
