When the fark did PC-types actually care about statistics when applying gender-neutral pronouns? I once had a teacher insist that I use 'he or she' when referring to blacksmiths, for chrissakes. It's almost as if they want to credit women for shit they haven't done while pretending they lack criminality, dishonesty, immorality... the full range of human behaviors, in other words...

The evidence shows in the west women are (now at least) more likely to be violent than men. It is, however, true that men seem more prone to extreme acts of violence (men seem to be more prone to extremes in just about everything).

Its the result of bias in accounting for violence. Rates are probably 50/50, but women commit covert acts of violence, things less likely to be noticed, or, if noticed, to be passed off as "just a woman thing", like slapping/punching boyfriends, a.k.a. he mustve deserved it.

Women are self-serving enough and have a high instinct of self-protection and survival that they do not often commit the most overt acts of aggression like murder or extremely violent forms of assault because that would imperil their future as a free individual, etc.

Women know not to do anything so destructive to their future. Many men do not know that.

Please inform you girlfriend that the paragraph is patiently false. Table 4.7 to 4.10 shows that men are more likely to experience violence by a partner then women are.

In addition, if you search "Lesbian" in mens rights reddit, you will find a post showing that lesbian relationships are significantly more violent then gay relationships, so no, the men reporting category is not a reflection of violence in the gay community.

This kind of bigotry and misinformation needs to be combated at all quarters.

Well, the clue here is in the title of the book: The Gift of Fear. I've read it, it's not a particularly bad book, it's mostly about things like trusting your instincts in potentially dangerous places and situations, etc.

But the paragraph above can pretty much be described as a marketing ploy. There is a certain class of women who fear men, fear all men, and among some in this population there are women who hate men, and/or regard themselves as morally superior to all men, but hide their hate behind a mask of fear. "My hatred of men can be justified by the assertion that all men are potential predators towards women, so I am justified in fearing all men and regarding all men as predators. And, I am justified in looking down on all men, because they are potential predators. In fact, I need to fear them and regard them as potential predators - and nothing more - in order to psychologically justify my sense of moral superiority over them."
