How handle being called out for participating on this sub?

I was banned from a fairly straight forward sub r/interestingasfuck for simply posting here. The ban was done by a bot, not a person. I had no idea that participating in r/MensRights got other mods so butt hurt!

I’d ask why they are so put off by someone who believes in equal rights and non discrimination. The MRM is simply seeking equality, it isn’t seeking advantages the way feminism is.

As understandable as it is to want to defend yourself I STRONGLY advise you do not engage. This is reddit, home of the professional troll. They want you to be outraged. They feed off of your anger and frustration like a blood sucking vampire. Like a tick or other parasite in an area you cant reach or do anything about. To them any attention is good attention. The only way to defeat a troll is to starve it to death.

I believe you can block accounts too, so you wont see any of their comments going forward.

No one here (on reddit) wants to hear or cares what you have to say. Youre a man and therefore you are hitler.

You can't retort an ad hominem attack. You can't make people like you when they want to hate you. The best you can do is call it out and move on. The fact that ad hominem is the best they can resort to speaks for itself to any reasonable person. Unfortunately, Reddit isn't known for its reasonable user base.

I honestly think the best thing to do is just to accept that, unfortunately, there are sexist and prejudiced people out there, and that not everone is going to agree with you or like you, but that you'll be just fine (or even better) without them.

That shouldn't be allowed by Reddit. To be a member of a subreddit does not even necessarily mean that you support an issue. You may just be interested what other people think or are into.

SIGN: Smear, insult, guilt, and the need to be right.

These are ad hominems, character attacks against the opponent. Avoid any kind of emotional reactional, instead stay cool. Their purpose is to control the dialogue and, a) shame/insult/etc the opponent into submission, or b) divert the discussion to the attacked's character (or some other red herring, whataboutsism, or stawman).

A reply could be something like: "These are personal attacks, ad hominems. Whoever uses them demonstrates the lack of rational thought and arguments, which directly shows that you have no rational argument. In short, you prove my point. Further, incel is short for involuntary celibate, your attempt to use it as an insult demonstrates a horrific lack of empathy."

Or: "These are personal attacks, ad hominems. Their purpose is to control the dialogue and shame/insult/etc the opponent into submission. Which is quite ironic since it comes from a feminist, the very group that claims to be eternally oppressed."

At any rate, don't react to ad hominems with emotions. “A gentleman will not insult me, and no man not a gentleman can insult me” (women/ladies likewise). Such a stance reflects the attack back on the attacker.

Similarly, "men do this bad thing, therefore you (a man) are bad" is entirely irrelevant. You have no responsibility for other people's actions, least of all when you have no control. Assuming character traits on the basis of sex is sexist (just like assuming character traits based on skin color or ethnicity is racist).

I literally got banned from a sub last week because I subscribe here. I was told to delete all,of my comments and unsubscribe from here and message the mods that I recognized the error of my ways.

It stings when people make accusations. That's why they do it: to hurt you.

When I attack people irl I go for the thing I think will upset them the most. Weight. Poverty. Whatever ridiculous shit just to hurt them, even if I don't believe my argument. Just to hurt them.

People do it here without reflecting as I do. It's just an automatic response they feel justified because reasons.

So, don't read too much into it. People will say things just to hurt you, with no substance. People will follow beliefs without thinking about it because it superficially aligns with who they think they are. Even this sub has people like this.
