Here is a subreddit that provides support for victims of false accusations

[–]slim_shady144110 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You are a good mod :)

[–][deleted] 694 points695 points696 points 6 years ago (61 children) | Copy Link

These ignorant, stupid fucks just get off on announcing that a post is locked. Every fucking time I stoop low enough to visit those garbage subs, I run into it. Some snarky comment, just reeking of "I stand on the moral high ground and this thread does not appease me."

"Locked."

Because you know damn well that is the only form of assertive behavior they will ever be able to muster up in the world. It's where they derive all their value. Disgusting.

[–]1LegendaryWombat 182 points183 points184 points 6 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Its also usually on threads which are suspiciously new, and have very few comments, if a thread hasn't even been up for 12 hours and is locked...thats just suspicious as fuck.

But a huge percentage of mods these days just act like petty dictators, usually its just annoying, the one that actually truly angered me tried to guilt me by saying my deceased mother would disagree with what i wrote.

[–][deleted] 82 points83 points84 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Funny how in their quest to silence dissenting “hateful” opinions, they wind up being absolute monsters and crossing the line - with no checks or balances in place to respond. I feel for you, I am sorry, people like the mod you mention should be buried under the prison.

[–]Bobtoddwilliams1234 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

these kinds of left-wing ideologies can only survive in a heavily moderated and heavily censored environment. Where any and all do opposition is silenced. But that's true of any fascist regime. North Korea. The Soviet Union. Nazi Germany. They only succeeded because they silenced anybody who is against them.

It's part of the old saying 'the only way for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing"

So if you're a good man you cannot sit by and do nothing. And really your main obstacle is censorship. So you need to stop this censorship. Now what does America generally do when there's a big corporation abusing its power in a way that hurts the American people? Class? Can anybody answer that question?

it does something that America did since it was founded. It does one of the most American things it can do. It passes a regulation on that company. Regulations existed since 1776. And it's as American as beer guns and farming.

and that's what America always did when something is going terribly wrong.

places like credit on Facebook have shown that they cannot be trusted to be left to their own methods. But they are not handling their massive size responsibly. And at that point it requires a group of Representatives of the people by the people to step in and passed regulations on behalf of the people preventing that kind of censorship.

some reality you don't really have to do anything like the revolutionaries in France. There's no need to get out and cause a bloody war. All you have to do is lobby for regulation and if your representative doesn't want to represent you then you vote for a different representativee. If your representative is more interested in supporting representing the Koch brothers and their pro-censorship agenda than you have to vote for a new representative. If your representative is more concerned with representing George Soros than you then you need to vote for a different representative

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree that in an ideal world, everything you say holds up. It sounds good on paper. But the sad reality is that no elected official gives two shits. Not a single one. The citizens who are down-to-earth and actually see things as they are don’t have an ice cube’s chance in hell of ever being elected. It just doesn’t happen.

I am sure you can provide examples to counter that point, and there may be a couple outliers, but nowhere near the numbers we need to actually do anything. We have so much technology at our fingertips these days and we should be making so much more progress than we are, but it is all for naught.

The government isn’t going to be the answer for us. They don’t work for us.

[–]Tomsow12 24 points25 points26 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's the usual cycle:

The more power you have ---> The more confident you are of being untouchable ---> The more angry you get when people are right about something and you're not.

And last step is mod banning you for disagreeing.

[–]1LegendaryWombat 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I consider the last step chain muting you when you use the modmail to try and 'appeal' as it were.

[–]DesperateForADwarf 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's my favorite. I once asked for clarification on why something I did broke a rule, and they just muted me. I asked politely, and I definitely didn't have a history in that sub of being "unruly".

Nope, asking a question to literally help me better follow the rules got me muted.

[–]WORD_559 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Wow, that's a real arsehole move. I'm sorry you had to deal with that shit. It's probably a bit late now, but if anything similar happens in future there is a form to report bad moderators. That may help reduce the power trip some mods get.

[–]dazed111 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That form seems about as ineffective as a fart in a wind

[–]excess_inquisitivity 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Idk if I like that comparison. If I must fart, I'd prefer it to be into the wind, either because:

1)it's quickly diluted and bothers people the leady, or

B)it's dissipated such that my poopasol enters the noses of the largest number of people possible, even without their realization that it's happening.

[–]dazed111 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The analogy still stands

[–]TardsRunThisAsylum 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The admins are too friendly with the mods, so this form just doesn't do anything. That form mainly acts to alert admins to subs where the mods aren't full-blown social justice warriors (because that's what reddit means by 'toxic'; not running things from a far-left perspective).

[–]Rumpadunk 45 points46 points47 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Locked threads are the absolute worst fucking thing on reddit

[–]Luchadorgreen 32 points33 points34 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]Rumpadunk 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Deathless-Bearer 15 points16 points17 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"Thread locked cuz y'all can't behave!"

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Holy shit, this one makes my blood boil.

I’m picturing some scrawny, irrelevant, Cheeto-scarfing pimply kid ten years younger than me smiling smugly to themselves when they use it.

It’s hilarious that people think words on the internet equates to misbehavior. What a sad fucking existence for these people...

[–]C2074579 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I hate the little power trip that mods get on.

[+]neo451 points 6 years ago* [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

A lot of admins become so because they get a kick out of bossing around or otherwise imposing their authority over people, things they likely don't get to do very much of in their actual lives. It's just wish fulfillment, like much of the internet.

[–]JoanGun 61 points62 points63 points 6 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link

Sadly, MGTOW is also an example of shit mods who ban people for no reason. Most subreddits are run by losers who think they are enlightened geniuses but in reality are some flavor of loser with too much free time.

[–]Ariliescbk 11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So they're basically FB admins.

[–]onbakeplatinum 19 points20 points21 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I was active in mgtow then was banned without explanation. I've messaged the mods like 10 times with no response.

[–]deargodwhatamidoing 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Mgtow was overtaken by extremists. I used to browse and same happened to me because I voiced moderate views compared to the mods.

Go back on wayback and view the sub and its a completely different doctrine.

[–]onbakeplatinum 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Incels took over. Now they use the exact same broken logic that the feminist subs do. They preach awalt but don't like it when men are generalized

[–]deargodwhatamidoing 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah. Five years ago it was memes and posts and stories of Mens experience being independant in society. It was great. Talking about hobbies, casual sex, ridiculous disposable income, travel and men's social issues.

Now it's just awalt memes and hate.

I realised after my ban mgtow meant going my own way from mgtow itself.

[–]Shnook82 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Seems I'm one of the few people who was un-banned. Not sure how long it was after my initial ban, but was probably at least a few weeks. No idea why I was banned of course, or why they retracted it, but whatever.

[–]ApeGoesBananas 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Same here. Fuck knows what rustles their jimmies

[–]JoanGun 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

They never respond. MGTOW cold be a really positive movement among men for good. But with shitty mods who act like babies and ban people for dumb things, that won't happen.

[–]onbakeplatinum 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Some posters consider being banned from the feminist sub for slightly disagreeing a badge of honor in the mgtow sub, proving how weak minded the feminists are. But they do the same shit!

[–]JoanGun 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes. People are stupid and don't like ideas that they don't agree with. Pathetic losers.

[–]amjw 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think I read that some of the mods were sleeper feminists who suddenly started banning people left right and centre

[–]fasctic 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Mods aren't called gay for no reason

[–]JoanGun 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Nothing wrong with being gay. If I liked sucking cock or being ass-fucked, then I'd probably be a lot happier. Hanging out with other guys is great. Being able to hang out with other guys and enjoy sex with them would be amazing. Sadly, I find other men very not-sexy and find women (even fatties) very sexy.

Anyhow, I don't use "gay" as an insult.

[–]fasctic 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes of course it's not wrong. I'm sure next to no one who say it think actually being gay is wrong. It's just sort of a meme that plays on most men not wanting to be associated with the term I think. It's just ingrained in male socialization that being gay is sort of shameful. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, there's a fear of being assumed to be gay by the surroundings.

Edit: r/traa also have shit mods who ban for personally disagreeing.

[–]NPC808 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

yeah Im not even sure exactly why they banned me. it was weird.

[–]JoanGun 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you just comment in some other sub and mention /r /MGTOW then you'll get banned. They MGTOW mods are little pussies you act like girls.

[–][deleted] 25 points26 points27 points 6 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Agreed 1000%, MGTOW are probably among the worst. I’m not an SJW by any stretch but my lord, those guys are sad

[–]Lucius_Martius 17 points18 points19 points 6 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

The issue is not with MGTOW, but with MGTOW subs and communities. I came to the conclusion that MGTOW principles are inherently opposed to forming healthy communities. It's not a community to belong to or an activist group to join, but something you do for your own life to make your own life better or at least to mitigate further damage.

Depending on the individual personal history, that may include more or less radical and even misogynistic thinking. This is usually given a pass, because some MGTOWs have been through a lot and if they have become hateful of women, not having contact with them is probably the best thing they could do, at least for a while, until they have started to work through their issues. But it is also nothing I think should be fostered in a community because that's the best way to make it permanent.

There are many friendly, rational and egalitarian MGTOWs too I believe. But I wouldn't look for them on reddit or any social network for that matter. Maybe look for them in the communities of youtubers that have been shunned by the larger MGTOW "community", like Stardusk/Thinking-Ape or JohnTheOther. People following them will be a lot saner, but it's still rough sometimes, about like it is in this sub.

TL;DR: There are good and pretty smart people among MGTOW, but I'd not look for them in the larger communities.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, I’m for men’s rights and a lot of MGTOW folk seem to agree with me when I get amped up in public forum, but the reality is I do not hate women whatsoever. I wish for them to be truly equal, and for the double standards to be removed for once.

Even before this whole internet debacle started and gave birth to the SJWs and feminazis, I just felt the majority of women in my life lacked any accountability for their actions, and that rubs people the wrong way. But that’s how I know my opinion are truly my own and not some -ism or ideology....I thought it to myself before all these alphabet movements started.

There are certain points that align with what I think, but really with any collective group, I don’t think MGTOW as it stands today is very constructive. I’ve seen some really disgusting rhetoric from the more extreme end, so maybe I’ll try the people you mentioned instead.

[–]Lucius_Martius 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

but the reality is I do not hate women whatsoever.

I think this is true for a lot of MGTOW as well. The only real rule to being a MGTOW is to not marry. That's it. As a MGTOW you can be friends with women, have a relationship, live together with a woman, possibly even have children or whatever.

I myself am both an egalitarian Men's rights advocate and would consider myself a MGTOW if asked directly. I'm in an exclusive long term relationship with separate living arrangements (LAT) with a woman for 7 years now. However except for the two youtubers I named, I severed all contacts to the larger MGTOW communities, because like you, I also found them to be toxic places.

I’ve seen some really disgusting rhetoric from the more extreme end

It's to be expected. Those are hurt and damaged people that lash out on anyone trying to argue their personal experience with them. And if you put them in a group that amplifies their feelings in an echo chamber, what you get will be awfully similar to even the worst SJWs. They'd be better off alone working through their issues, but as it is so often, damaged people clump together and isolate themselves if there is no other system in place to catch them and reintegrate them into society.

Not saying it's good, but it's understandable what is happening to them.

[–]RoryTate 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I came to the conclusion that MGTOW principles are inherently opposed to forming healthy communities.

That's probably the best description I've heard for the phenomenon. I've felt that strange sense of wrongness many times as well, but it's often hard to put your finger on just what is so off about the group/channel/forum/etc, and it's even harder to figure out the root cause of why most places seem so unhealthy. Perhaps it is just a symptom of the principles of MGTOW.

[–]Daemonicus 17 points18 points19 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They weren't always like that. They went downhill pretty quick though.

[–]Iceaura39 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I got banned for basically telling them "Hey, maybe DON'T hate women."

[–]RacelessSexlessName 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Maybe they don't hate women and you're a standard feminist type troll that thinks everyone hates women.

MGTOW just makes me think of gays that aren't gay. They just don't need a woman.

[–]jonnyhaldane 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, MGTOW will ban you for saying anything vaguely in defence of women. Source: was banned.

[–]Iceaura39 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I don't think everyone hates women, but I've seen the MGTOW displaying AWALT beliefs. Not all of them are like that, I'll admit, but I've seen the ones who are.

[–]SunshineBlind 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]SharedRegime 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

My favorite ones are the "satire" subs that are actually just hate threads and a mod posts "reports will be ignored :)"

[–]pd159 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What's wrong with that?

[–]SharedRegime 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Theyre not actual satire groups theyre hate groups. They ignire people reporting then on their own hypocrisy because they are fully aware of what they are they just dont care. Hate of amy kind towards anyone for a physical trait or some ridiculous stereotype is wrong and thats what they preach yet they do that exact thing.

Thats why its wrong. They have power and are corrupt racists/sexists and they use the power to boot anyone who calls them out. Like those feminist man hating pages.

[–]deargodwhatamidoing 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Surprised I didn’t see the word incel. That’s a favorite they use against men being for men’s rights.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, they frequently display many kinds of fallacies in their comments and arguments, but none as frequently as the ad-hominem/false equivalency mix. Incel/misogynist/bigot/racist/cuck/virgin/neckbeard all apply.

Their MO is to try to communicate that viable mating partners and functional members of society would never support men’s rights or other egalitarian topics.

It’s like hating vegetarians because Hitler was a vegetarian. Incels might share opinions with MRAs but that doesn’t mean all MRAs are incels. False equivalence.

But logical debate has never been in their toolbox.

If you check out the removeddit the majority of comments were just people sympathizing with the guy and sharing their stories and shit. If I needed legal advice, last thing I'd want is a bunch of random people spilling their guts.

Oh yeah, for sure, that subreddit isn't for that, 100% should be deleted, but calling a commentor an idiot and not explaining why their comment was deleted doesn't provide a whole lot for people to learn

Support for the accused actually helps people at the moment. Every few days a college student will come in needing advice, and it's a lucky day for them if they go there, since any mistake you make with a Title IX accusation will ruin your college career.

I wish I knew about it when I was accused.

[–]RolfIsSonOfShepnard 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The entire subs top comment can be just an auto-mod that says "Talk to a real lawyer". It takes a 1 minute google search to find what kind of lawyer to look for and hour or whatever to look up nearby ones.

[–]Le-Shape 114 points115 points116 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Love how they insult the person too before blocking, giving themselves more power and the last laugh.

[–]JackRabbit- 37 points38 points39 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

One of their comments was just “you’re an idiot”, after removing a comment. Regardless of what the comment said, that isn’t appropriate for a mod to comment for obvious reasons. What rule did they break? We’ll never know.

[–]JackRabbit- 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Just in case anyone is actually interested, he said:

"Looks like you got #MeToo'd. Good luck pal. You can never fight accusations because they are just that, accusations. Accusations don't prove anything, they merely incite people to do something about the claim, in this case it was your boss and his/her boss. I truly wish you luck in beating this case, but if recent history has anything to show, it's that allegations mean quite literally everything in these cases, evidence means little to nothing."

[–]Le-Shape 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yep, totally an idiot for sure, lol. I guess she had nothing smart or snarky to say so she just called him what her dumbass head could think of on the spot.

[–]1LegendaryWombat 115 points116 points117 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Because anyone who defends a man must hate women, sheesh.

What a shitty workplace though, i would have quit on the spot. "We have a problem with you but we won't tell you who put it forth and we won't let you speak to anyone to find any information to defend yourself as we definitely think you are guilty."

[–]WolfShaman 30 points31 points32 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Unfortunately that guy may not have the luxury of being able to do that, not to mention that if they had just quit on the spot, people would speculate that it's because the accusations were true.

[–]1LegendaryWombat 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

One way or the other, those speculations will always happen, leaving voluntarily does let them actually talk to their coworkers though.

[–]Shnook82 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Leaving your job when you have an accusation of sexual assault / inappropriate behaviour etc isn't a good idea. He's at least getting paid, and if any prospective employer rings up for a reference or check his work history, he's in a world of hurt. If he doesn't fight this, he loses. That type of thing doesn't go away. Even if he does fight, he still might lose, but at least he has a chance.

[–]WolfShaman 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You are correct that speculation will happen anyways. I do believe, though, that leaving would make it easier for the "he has a penis so he's guilty" crowd to convince others who may still be on the fence.

With reddit, that won't go far. The admins turn a blind eye to violations from subs they agree with and bring down the hammer on those they don't.

Subs like r/SRS openly brigade other subs, which is against sitewide rules. They have Not, nor will they ever be held accountable.

I hate to use it as an example, but T_D was quarantined for inciting violence against police officers because admins found 100 posts that the mods hadn't removed in a month, when the mods there usually have 20,000 moderator actions per month. It's one of the most pro-police subs out there. But r/Bad_Cop_No_Donut can say kill all cops and it's just crickets.

There's an agenda at play, and if you're on their side, your safe. If you're not, you're against the wall.

That's not ok and sounds like a really poor hr department.

You have the right to face your accuser and to defend yourself.

If they decide to eject, punish, or demote you without full disclosure or properly allowing you to defend yourself, and even if they do but you're still railroaded, lawyer up and hit them with the works.

Sign NOTHING. They may try and give you severance with an extra lump attached if you sign an NDA.

Don't take it, because as my favorite childhood admiral would exclaim, it's a trap!

Tell them you need to consult a labour lawyer first to look at the paperwork.

Name the company, the managers involved, the HR rep and your accuser in the suit.

File for disclosure of all documents, notes, and correspondences relating to your situation as well as the accusers entire Hr file, their managers personnel notes/file/records to see if they have a history making harassment accusations or complaints.

Get the labour lawyer equivalent of an ambulance chasing Saul from breaking bad.

Go for the works: Slander, defamation of character (because everyone will think you're guilty regardless thanks to office gossip), wrongful dismissal, harassment, emotional distress, lost earnings, lost potential earnings...

Make them settle hard.

[–]data-prohibition 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Typical leftist/feminist censorship of everything slightly outside their preferred narrative. Men are guilty. Period. There are no false accusations. Period. There has never been even one.

Due process? Free speech? Feminist don't like that either. It's an attack on the foundation of any free society.

[–]chriscoda 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The mod also removed posts that said “too bad you aren’t in a union”. That doesn’t seem very leftist to me.

[–]data-prohibition 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's in line with the general notion of the nowadays left that's it it's ok and totally appropriately to ban certain types of speech (in this case lock down a post). As a libertarian I'd strongly disagree. Free speech means free speech for me, especially so if I don't like it. Of course there are also people on the left who'd agree to that. But they are currently a minority.

[–]chriscoda 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They're not the majority, they're just the loudest. And don't think that's not a thing on the right. If you don't believe me, try posting something anti-Trump on the two largest right-leaning subreddits and see how fast you get deleted and banned. People have to stop making this about right vs. left. It's free speech vs. anti-free speech.

[–]data-prohibition 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They clearly are the majority, wake up please (I've been there). Free speech advocates nowadays find themselves on inadvertently on the political right. I'm one of them. You want to criticize LGBT issues, woke media, feminism? You're dead! Clearly not allowed. Speech is violence, in case you didn't know.
