I'm only 15 and have already experienced so much hate directed towards me just because of my gender. With social media just becoming larger and more popular each year the hate has only grown and I often find myself in depressive moods because of it.

I can't scroll through any social platform without finding TONS of posts talking about how trash men are and neglecting the problems we have to face on a daily basis. And it's hurts seeing these posts having millions of likes and so much female support in the comments agreeing with them. Yet the few posts that actually address issues that men have only have 1-2k likes and nothing but hate in the comments.

Then there is KAM. I won't go into much detail since it is fairly straight forward. This "joke" is screwed up and whoever believes this (there are many that do) are sick in the head. I'm far from a snowflake but this isn't even a joke atp. There's been times where I feel like this world is just hopeless for me and have almost left myself because of things like this.

I do not in anyway say this to push away women's issues. I can not stress this enough. I feel that we are in a period of time where men's issues are becoming more serious than women's issues. I say this as in more and more boys and men lose their life each year to suicide. As I've hinted above I've almost been one of them.

While women continue to ridicule men for sexual assault and harassment (again yes, IT DOES HAPPEN) from my personal I can name 10 guy friends who have been taken advantage of sexually or been sexually harassed before I could name 1 girl who has LEGITIMATELY experienced it. And this is coming from a school with a 4:3 girl to boy ratio.

And while only a very select few know this I myself have been taken advantage of and manipulated into doing sexual acts for a girl. A few months after we cut things off I got together with my current girlfriend (she is so supportive of me and has helped me through so much). When my ex found about about us dating she immediately started telling everyone that I had raped her and that I was a rapist. While things settled down before growing out of control its was an outstandingly scary time for me. It was frightening seeing people actually believe the lies she would tell them even when they knew how manipulative and selfish she was.

There is so much I could go on about but I will leave it with this. I've felt alone all my life. WE'VE felt alone all our lives. Nobody to baby us and tell us everything will be ok. No masses of people running to support us when we need it. All our lives we have been the only ones there for ourselves. This needs to end. I know I'm just a silly little 15 year old from a town you've probably never heard of before. I know how harsh the world has become. I end this saying don't be afraid to express your thoughts, feelings and opinions. Don't let the fear of criticism and hate stop you from making yourself heard. It doesn't matter what people think of you, they can only tear you down as far as you let them. Live everyday knowing you are the one who isn't afraid to be yourself no matter what anyone has to say. If we don't stand strong every day of our lives nobody will. We can't make a difference on our own, we can only do it with the strength of us all everyday pushing back on those who shove us down. NEVER let anybody take away your values and your worth.
