Reminds me of a time I was working at a table in a bar one evening. I didn’t have any drinks and was only there to do work.

2 women claiming to be tourists from the Philippines came up to me and asked could they share my table and I said sure they can.

They tried to start a conversation but I explained I was busy with my work and couldn’t spend time chatting.

They then ordered 2 drinks and started talking between one another while I did my work. About 10 minutes later I got up to leave and wished them a good holiday.

They then said “excuse me mister you need to pay for our drinks” and a short argument later they started going around the bar asking if anyone else could buy their drinks as they hadn’t brought any money.

On a date i ordered drinks i usual have 1 beer for a date, this chick had 7 mix drinks and 5 tequila shots. Started getting loud and thrashy. I got up and left, came back after 3 hours with my buddy to get shitfaced.

Bartender told me she started asking everyone for money to pay her $100+ tab and claimed she was from out of state, bought drinks for my buddy that night.

I could see how this happens. Guy asks do you need something? as he's ordering... Woman assumes he's paying. He orders a drink for himself and says that girl wants a xxxxx. He pays for his drink. That girl grabs her drink. He wanders off as it is clear she's not interested. She's left on the hook. I don't buy drinks for random girls.

Well, I met my cousin again for the first time after 5 years recently.

He's about 20, 14 years younger than me, and a student, while at the moment I am doing quite well financially.

So when we met it was obvious for me that I should be the one paying for him, especially as it was not a date at all but a family reunion.

However I almost had to fight to pay for both of us and prevent him from giving me some money back!

So if this is so deeply rooted into even so young men, it must be the same in women, not surprising. It will take time to change mindsets.

As in the name "buying drinks"

It would be reasonable to assume that the person that is 'buying you drinks' is paying because they are 'buying you drinks'

I would presume she accepted the drinks because in the name of 'buying drinks' she would assume that he would pay for it.

But he didn't

So he tricked a person into paying for himself.

Which makes him quite the asshat in my book
