Society's problems are caused by corrupt government. Income inequality is at an all time high, jobs are being replaced by robots and all the money is going to the rich. Did your forget these problems?

Dating apps do need to be banned, when I used them they were so unhealthy. I would talk to a set of 10 different girls each week, just saying the same thing I started to desensitize to it all and would never build any genuine connection with a lot of those women. I’m sure this is even more profound in women as they usually have endless matches

As a fellow older Gen Z’er, everyone thinks they are ‘ truly a part of the last generation that got to experience the normal world.’

Like I’ve heard this said by everyone from people born in the 70’s to kids born in like 2002 lol.

I’m not denying that things are changing and there are nee challenges, but literally everyone says ‘we where the last generation that played outside 😤’ even people born in the 60’s. (But people born in the 80’s are the worst for doing the whole ‘we where the last tough generation’ schtik )

Young people have always been immature, ignorant, and compete with each other to develop their adult identity while building tribes to protect their egos. This is nothing new

We will not ban dating apps, because they are convenient and effective. If we can shop, bank, sell, market, entertain, travel, and communicate online, there is no reason to make a special restriction for dating and sex

You're younger than me and boy is this an old people argument. I'm sure people said the same thing about intersex bars, and no fault divorce, and clubs, and probably coffee shops. The internet isn't worse than it was before, just trust me on that. People are just more aware of privacy concerns and social effects. You may be too young to get first hand accounts but the sheer speed of change the past 70 years is really just to much to even comprehend. None of my grandparents owned a tv when they were kids, tvs were too new and expensive. The point is, not only are these kind of social changes not new, they are probably going to be nearly unrecognizable 10-20 years from now. Today is not tomorrow is not yesterday, and again, just trust me that overwhelmingly yesterday was not better than today. Except for white men obviously.

I’m a Zillennial/Gen Z girl who was skeptical of dating apps & never tried one until not long ago.

Some of my friends met their spouses/fiancés/partners through Hinge so they were pushing me to try it. I thought it was dumb for 3 months. Like someone else here said, there’s a lot of shallow messages. I don’t think I talked to more than 4 people, & the conversations were “hi how are ya?” and then went nowhere.

Then one day before I was gonna delete it, a guy wrote me a very wholesome & genuine message. He had the most down-to-earth profile I’d seen & our conversation was like two bffs clicking instantly. I felt right away, this was a good soul. But I googled & checked his socials because I never met someone online before. Then we went on very public dates for a while & he was so respectful. I met his family & friends right away and they were equally as wholesome & kind. We fell in love & I knew he was my person.

That was 2 years ago. We moved in together after about six months & now we spend our days laughing & thinking about our forever. He’s a very gentle, sweet, goofy soul & I thank God for him everyday. We never fight. His family has become my family & my family has become his.

TLDR: I was skeptical, but I and my friends had success with Hinge so I don’t think all dating apps are bad. I wouldn’t have found the love of my life without it tbh.

As an older gen Z (1995-1999)

You're a millenial. But I do get it I'm also born mid 90's, I socialise quite a lot with people born 2000/>2000 so I engage which that culture much more than people over 30 who could be considered true millenials.

But to your main point, the internet and social media isn't real life. I don't engage with it much probably to my own detriment. I could've slipped into some DM's and gottem more success than I've had...

Young men are much more in tune with themselves. I've had more bro-love from friends who are in their early 20's than I ever recall getting from the older generations.

The only point i'd concede to is that there's a lot of isolation going on. People who are alone is getting more and more common and it's what leads to the popularity of dating apps and its horrors.

While anybody who still has a social life and goes out has much more success. I consider myself a 5, a 6 on a good day and I've had more attention going out than i'd ever get on a dating app and it's often my own insecurities that leads to self-sabotage (which one of my good gen Z friends pointed out, as he dealt with that stuff too. How is that for comradery?)

I don't know. Hypergamy is still the same. Men still have to learn to impress women, which I don't think is so hard. It's just that not enough men are putting the work in to do it. It wasn't easy to find a girlfriend when I was younger, either. But more men were doing the work necessary (socializing, going to parties, trying to look good, pursuing the types of hobbies that interest women) that would actually attract women.

Times change, what was once niche no longer is. Looksmaxxing is a term i've heard on occasion. I didn't know it's origin at all, but does it even matter. The idea of becoming the best version of yourself is a good one. Social media has just highlighted what was always true, a person's attractiveness matters significantly in every aspect of life. Social media has just ramped up the amplification on this.

As for dating apps, no need to ban them. Men need to just get off them asap, they are not designed to help people find a relationship, certainly not men. They are designed for profit by giving women dopemine hits aand ego boosts (from all the matches they get due to the ridiculous men/women ratio on the app) to get them to come back to the app and make men desperate enough to pay by dangling the carrot of their "dream partner" behind paywalls.

I wish I had a lot of the knowledge available to gen z when i was their age. Still I was just about young enough to take advantage of it when it was available.

You're a millennial. And as someone actually of that generation, who works with the real younger end, I can say there's certainly a growing number of people who don't want to interact with anyone, but still far from the majority. Real life socialising is still the usual frame of reference for young people.

I don't think dating apps are the only culprit it gets as complex as you're willing to dive into it. In essence the blackpilling of every facet of society has happened and something major is brewing. No one believes anything and we're aware of psyops all around us. The only way I see out is return to tradition but not a regression a renewing and updated tradition.

There's three ways to think about progress a straight line going up or down, a circle repeating patterns or what I believe a spiral so things come back but in a new way. Hopefully I'm right and we have a new age of groundedness in truth and tradition a world less schizophrenic and Leviathan

I'm misanthropic af but man I'd love to participate in a world that actually makes sense.
