So I found myself divorced as of last year after 12 years of marriage.

Here is what I have found fascinating about dating in my late 30s (I have only been on a few). I have only dated five women here or there, and only a few times, nothing serious.

  1. I have attracted women who were more naturally physically attractive than my ex.

  2. All of them have commented on how fun and refreshing it was to date me.

  3. All of the women said to stay off the dating apps.

  4. I found everyone, myself included, have complications.

  5. There seems to be more purpose and maturity.

But at the same time, I found in all cases, many of them are emotionally stunted or unavailable because some boyfriend of theirs hurt them deeply. They find it easy to open up with me, but then become spooked when they feel things getting serious.

To me, it seems like many people get deeply hurt by someone, but don’t do the painful work to become healed, and so continue to perpetuate the cycle.

In order for to get into a relationship I:

  1. Have to heal for myself.

  2. Heal for boys.

  3. Heal to date for a relationship.

What do you guys think, or have observed?
