People will say I am superficial, but…Being able to afford a better school for your children,better clothes, a better car etc. a better future overall. It all can be accomplished by having a better partner.

No it doesn't affect my self perception, it might affect how others see me but that is largely an irrelevance to me and outwith my control. I'm more affected by the health and level of mutual satisfaction in the relationship.

I think it has more to do with your family and friends perceptions of your partner.

For example your mom, aunt and sister constantly calls your partner a bum for not getting a degree it will eventually get to you. Women I think are more susceptible to this. They will even lose attraction for a person if their friends say said person is undesirable.

The only thing I care about when choosing a partner is attractiveness to me, myself, and I. All of the status and ✨️universal adoration✨️ in the world doesn't change the fact that I'm the one who has to bang him at the end of the day.

How does this work? While he's hitting it you're just like "ahaha at least other women would be enjoying this right now!" When I look at myself in the mirror I want to see someone who's genuinely happy and true to herself, not someone selling out to what the omniscient committee of irrelevant opinions has to say about whether my boyfriend is fuckable.

If your partner makes a little or a lot of money it can raise or lower your social status, but it doesn’t make you “lesser” than anyone. Your value as a person isn’t dependent on how much money you have.

I dont care about any of this stuff. I care Im attracted to him and we are good to each other/compatible/life goals.

Attractiveness is subjective and I would not be with him if I wasn't attracted.

Thats said, I didn't want kids or marriage. Things may be different for those wanting that.

Maybe my status raises his, did you ever think of that?

Anyway, it’s not something I really consider when choosing a partner. Obviously they have to have some social skills and not live in a sketchy trailer park next to the pedos and ex-cons, but I’m not really a social climber so I wasn’t looking to marry a Rockefeller or a Trump.

It matters more to women then it does for men, unless he’s a bum. Men don’t look for financial security or status in women, that’s a womens metric of success in a partner they’re looking for.
