For me, it's watching a guy who isn't suppressing hobbies he enjoys because they might not be "cool" or "attractive".

One of my friends is into really nerdy shit (like historical reenacting and niche tabletop games) and uses it as a filter on dates. she's had a few guys tell her "don't you think that's more second date material?" or "uuhh that's weird" and that's how she knows it's not going to work out. it's a bold strategy but seems to work.

I hate when people shit on your hobbies. You don't have to be interested in it or even like it, but don't be a judgemental asshole ffs.
[–]Love8DeathPost-RP0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
Why? People have the right to shit on your hobbies. And you on theirs.
Women think a guy that's a super nerd is less likely to fuck her well. Which is generally wise.

Just because you have the "right" to do something doesn't mean it isn't rude.

Of course they do, no one however has the right to be free of consequences of acting as an asshole.
Most don't fuck well. Lol. Underdeveloped bodies is like a nerd meme. They more often treat women like they're pansies.

Jokes aside, that's why you ride nerds, not let them ride you.
[–]Love8DeathPost-RP0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Can you really fuck, if you do not have a cock?
Having to ride, is a coping mechanism, when you find yourself without choice, to employ.
How can anyone possibly fuck well, that hasn't fucked at least a hundred times?
[–]RockinSocksII25F poiple INTP - Not single, Eastuss needs to know this0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes, it's called pegging.
Who says it's a coping mechanism? I like to ride the guy I fuck now and he doesn't treat me daintily. Riding is fun.
That doesn't mean shit. There are plenty of guys who have fucked a lot who aren't very good at it.
If pegging is the equivalent to having a cock, then fleshlights are equivalent to having a cunt.
If it wasn't fun, you wouldn't be doing it!
There are few guys that fuck well with little experience, even if some are slow learners.

Cool that it works too. I bet it makes some guys really like her hard, and others completely not.
Hadn't thought too much about polarizing in reverse. Which I guess from a female perspective is forwards.
eh... maybe it's a matter of where she lives but she hasn't met with much enthusiasm. most of the guys she's dated have been put off by it and think she's odd. which, to be fair, supernerds like that kind of are.

How do you find your genuine identity and vibe and become more true to yourself?
An individual's "identity" is how other individuals perceive who you are, what is on "the inside" does not matter to other individuals. This "genuine identity" is a perception of yourself, nothing more. Any ideas about "true self" "authenticity" or "genuine" is a trap in my opinion, I would surmise it is far more effective to tangibly pursue and act the way you want to become as opposed to worrying about what is "inside".

This is the manifestation of brain processes that promote solipsism and self centeredness.
An individual's identity is created by his Ego, the tree or trees of beliefs that exist in his mind.

If you don't have an in depth understanding of your 'self', how would you be able to achieve anything you want in life?
[–]Shaman66241 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
I think that "not believing in a true self" and "understanding the self" aren't mutually exclusive.
The self is just an illusion your mind creates. The hobbies you enjoy, the food you eat, the movies you watch are pretty arbitrary if you ask me.
Your true self is always an easy excuse you can use to explain not improving yourself. Your 'holistic' self is just the sum of it's parts and is changing constantly.
so instead of focussing on who you are (since a moment is infinitely short the moment you realize who you are you are already someone else, neuroplasticity) isn't it better to focus on who you want to be. That way the change that's happening constantly in your neurons at least brings you to a place you want to be.
But I agree that it is important to acknowledge and accept your emotions and live in the moment. I tjink meditation can help with that.
[–]AllRolledUp 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
That makes sense, and I agree.
It is crucial to focus on who you want to be and move forward, but that can't happen unless someone knows exactly what things they need to change, which they can't do if they haven't gone through honest introspection.
For example, many women aspire to be thinner but never see real fat loss. They wholeheartedly believe they are doing everything possible to reach their goal, but if told that they are consuming too many calories they deny it.
If they were honest with themselves, they'd acknowledge that they have a problem with overconsumption and fix it, leading to achieving their weight loss goal.
The things we don't acknowledge about ourselves are the ones that hold us back from moving forward and becoming the person we want to be.
[–]Shaman66240 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Excactly but the more things you see as arbitrary to "who you are" the more things are open for change.
[–]AllRolledUp 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah agreed. I'd even say that we can change most things about ourselves, provided we're smart enough to recognize what and how.
But without a solid Ego to guide you, you float in the wind. Most people are not truly wanderers.
Meditation helps you find your true self which derives from the God form of yourself.
But focusing on who you want to be is part of ascertaining your true self. I do think however at some point when someone has fully self actualized, they stop seeking growth as indiscriminately and continue to grow how they know they need to and in a way that's already apart of them.
[–]Shaman66240 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
What is a "god form of yourself"
Asks the Shaman?
Your highest self that is always channelling through you.
You can believe it literally or figuratively, it doesn't matter too much.
When someone is very happy with themselves and situation, truly, not just what they say to themselves, they're likely acting and thinking more in line with their own God form.
All men are Gods. All men are creators.
You're right I should read a little more into it.
I chose the name long ago because I read this book https://www.amazon.com/Invisible-Landscape-Mind-Hallucinogens-Ching/dp/0062506358
It said something along the lines of, shamans lead the people of the tribe into the future by going outside of the known paths.
Appreciate the book link, that looks like an interesting read.
Yes, those that follow society's plainly laid out paths rarely change much where society itself moves to a different path.
But being one that travels a different path outside of normal society comes with a price, nothing is without repercussions, but many find it more than worth it.
I'm yet to spend much time with Shamanism directly, still looking for a good native American reference, though I did get lucky enough to make a connection to an Incan Shaman. Fun stuff.
[–]Shaman66240 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I can't really use psychedelics anymore because it gave me psychological problems. That's actually a big part of shamanism.
But I'm always interested in the allegories and metaphors. Hidden meaning in old stories and old cultures. I think the path to the future also lies in the past.
We shouldn't forget who we are as humans. Stories and fairy tales were the way cultural values were handed down the generations. And sometimes what works shouldn't be changed. That's why to change things first you have to follow.

take a bunch of acid, then go backpacking in australia
[–]Shaman6624 points points points 9 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
I understand the therapeutic value of psychedelic drugs in introversion.
But you can also find out who you are sober and it will go a lot less explosively, and IMO in nature steady growth is stronger growth. An individual doesn't need drugs to do that. Intent over time is enough and without the potential negative side effects.
If you use psychedelics check yourself good. Make sure you are with people you trust and that you aren't afraid to share your innermost thoughts with. Some people can handle them fine and won't have noticable negative effects but you never know in which category you fall it might fuck you up.
Most neurotic and uncool thing I ever read in my life. The first time I took acid I was 14 and in an anarchists squat with strangers lol millenials have even nerded up drugs

There's only one way. We form our identities through growth, and that requires challenge and getting out of our comfort zone.
Women respond ultimately to male "character". That's why they loathe manbabies and fakers. They might get fooled by the superficial and the effect it has on their emotions, but that's what they're really looking for. That's why they test, and that's why you know a woman wants you when she can admire you.
But you don't build character by being comfortable. You don't build character by accepting your limitations. You don't build character by ranting online.
You build it by going out into the darkness on the edge of town and finding out what you've got when shit gets tough and you need to dig deep. That's why men and especially boys respond well to exercise. It's the adversity that provokes growth.
I know this may sound like cliches but it's the honest to God truth.

What are you passionate about? Pursue that and enjoy it, but not at the cost of your health or your finances. Pursue your passion(s) wholeheartedly but intelligently. If you love painting, don't expect to make a living from it, but pursue it with all your heart while being responsible. If you're talented and lucky, you might make a living from it; if not, you'll have built a stable life and possess a unique collection of personal (and attractive) creations nonetheless.
Ask yourself what the best version of yourself would look like. Would he be kinder? Would he seize opportunities instead of second guessing himself? Would he put himself out there honestly without resentment? Try to become that person, but don't expect to become him instantly. Life is about experience, appreciation and improvement: you can't withdraw from the world, you need to live your life; you need to feel fulfilled -- NOT 100% happy because you won't be happy 100% of the time -- but you need to feel engaged and worthwhile; and you need to improve, otherwise you'll lose yourself smelling the roses (I.E. indulging yourself mindlessly). Also, life is about responsibility: you need some sort of obligation. People do badly when nobody wants or needs them. You need a social circuit, you need love, you need hobbies, and you need a family (rare exceptions to family and even love exist). Ask yourself: "what would the man I want to be do in 'X' situation?" and do it.
Ask yourself what the worst version of yourself would look like. Would he be an alcoholic? Would he be unemployed? Would he be a misogynist? Would he be a misanthropist? Would he be depressed because he never put himself out there? Understand who that man is, understand that he could manifest himself if you just gave up, and apply yourself to improving your life instead. Ask yourself if the person who you are right now would add, not detract, from someone else's life if you became involved romantically. If you're a pessimist and likely to say, "detract", pursue anyway and work on yourself in the meantime.
You need not dismiss mimicry outright. If you feel the impulse to mimic someone, try to recognise what it is about them that you'd like to possess. If it's something like beauty, then you need to accept that mother nature is cruel; if it's confidence, status, body language, or whatever else, then apply yourself and achieve those things for yourself.
The fact that you need to ask if it's "even possible" to find your true self points to an underlying problem. Of course you can. There is no absolute, unchanging self, but you can find out who you are and what matters to you nevertheless.
When women say that they don't want a "boy" but a "man", what they mean is that they want an attractive, self-sufficient individual instead of someone who doesn't know who they are, and wants a second mother to help them figure it out for them.
To summarise:
-- Pursue your hobbies unashamedly. Don't hide your likes, dislikes, hobbies or opinions. Own who you are.
-- Ask yourself what the best version of yourself would look like. Strive to become him.
-- Ask what the worst version of yourself would look like. Avoid him, but understand that he lies latent within you.
-- Try to become as attractive as possible (no, you don't have to lift). Groom yourself, smell nice, and eradicate bad habits.
-- Be responsible. Get a job. Learn to drive. Have your own accommodation. Be self-sufficient and own yourself -- you don't want someone to save you, or mother you until you discover yourself.
-- Be biased towards action (romantically). Put yourself out there and initiate. It's the way it is. Some men find this incredibly difficult. Some women are happy to initiate for themselves. Nonetheless, the majority of women will wait for a man to invite them out on a date. But don't despair: the majority of women also orchestrate the entire courtship affair: they send signals when they're interested so you can adapt accordingly (some shy girls won't do this, so be perceptive and optimistic when gauging interest, but be polite and respectful if you're turned down -- be assertive and confident [because you've owned yourself and are self-sufficient, right?], but don't overstay your welcome). Have female friends: no, every woman doesn't want to jump your bones, and they don't all interpret your conversation as courtship.
-- Be gregarious and optimistic. Optimism is a healthy strategy when it isn't delusional. Ask yourself what you enjoy and go for it. Take responsibility for your self-improvement and your mistakes. Put yourself out there romantically, accept rejection and move on because external judgement doesn't define you. A lot of the "how to be a man" shtick is based on having an intrinsic sense of self-worth and an extrinsic focus: your confidence, your values and your ambition is unshakeable, but it's directed towards a challenging hobby, a prestigious job, a beautiful woman, &c., &c.
Good luck.
The only thing about passion, is that it can be built, for whatever someone wants to be passionate about, if they allow their mind to be filled.
[–]AllRolledUp 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Catalogue and acknowledge your weaknesses, worst traits, fears, limiting factors, strengths, and wants.
Figure out what you care about and what you don't, which values you want to uphold and which don't matter.
Accept yourself as a complete person, including the bad parts. Then start improving yourself by challenging yourself mentally, physically, and intellectually.
Find people you respect, analyze what traits you value and are attracted to in others, and cultivate those in yourself.
If you genuinely like yourself and are mentally, physically, and emotionally stable, you will attract the same kind of people.
This is very good advice, and succinctly put, incels should listen up, and put an end to their victimhood.
Thanks. It's a tough but very satisfying and empowering experience.

The main thing is to not be trying to be someone else. Don't be ashamed of the things you are most interested in or passionate about, even if it's not 'cool'. I'm certainly more attracted to genuine, natural people than people who look and act like one of the crowd. I know people around here laugh it off if you say 'be yourself' but it's true that it's more attractive to lots of people to not be fake, even if it makes you a bit of an outsider in normie circles.
[–]SkinnySweaty 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's making your exterior match up with your internal self.
Think about it. Would you feel comfortable dressing like a biker, working construction jobs, covered in tats, with a shaved head? Some guys are, this is who they are and they're comfortable and real in their own skin. The world acknowledges them as such.
Then there are those who try to copy that look because they think it's cool, but it's obvious that they're faking it and they look ridiculous. Same thing with people who refuse to acknowledge their sexually and live in conflict between their inner and outer selves.
This is why we BP folks always say that "fake it till you make it" advice from RP is so bad. 9/10 times you look like a poseur instead of a bad ass. Much better served to be who you really are and match that to your external look/vibe and do your fucking thing with confidence.

Well first off you've got to consider why authenticity is important.
Let's try something. What are the first things you assume about the following people based on how they look: A, B and C
Now there are obviously some expectations on their personality based on their style.
A seems to be intellectual without being socially stunted; B seems loud, spontaneous and funny while C seems to be chill and liberal.
And that's why being genuine is important. You might try one of those styles in order to get laid, but you've got to consider that style is used to express your personality so that others can get a glimpse inside of you without having to get to know you first. For example if you are a risk averse and shy nerd that dresses like B you will not have as much success as if you would have by dressing like A and if you are a tradcon you won't fit into the crowd of C. You could try mimicking those expectations, but you can't hold this illusion up forever and it won't make you happy if you live a lie.
Women are more attracted to the personality types that these styles represent than the styles themselves.
And that's why the way to find yourself is to go outside and enjoy life. Push past your boundaries and expand your horizon. Try new things and meet new people. Take psychedelics and explore your subconscious mind. Don't be ashamed of your interests and don't be afraid of losing friends that don't appreciate your true self.
In the long run you might find out where you belong and who you truly are.

By figuring out what you like, what you want, and who you want to be. It's just introspection and self-assessment, followed by honest effort to achieve your goals and grow into a person you can respect.
It helps if your goals aren't all externally-focused, too. Are there skills you think you should have? Are there things you'd like to be able to do? A certain way you want to look, because you'd feel good looking that way?
Is there someone in your life who you admire and respect? What do you admire and respect about them? How could you gain those traits for yourself?
My experience has been that people respond to someone who is confident in who they want to be and who is who they want to be. So, work on that.

Mentors, guides, role models, leads,, are very useful indeed.
[–]decadentegalitarianhyperfeminized cuckboy0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I don't think I'd agree, except somewhat for "role models".
Having people you admire and want to emulate is great; it lets you see what various traits and values look like from the outside, and if you like how "honesty" or "consideration" look on someone else, then odds are that you'll like how they look on you too.
Having people trying to teach you how to be like them ("Mentors, guides, [...], leads,,")...nah. The goal is to learn who you want to be, not to find dudes eager to turn you into copies of themselves.
There's a reason TRP is toxic. Well, ok, there are about a million reasons, but this follower mentality is one of them.
They may or may not want you to become a copy of themselves.
To be a sheep, is not what I was implying.
You take what you need from each, incorporate them into yourself, when you no longer have use for them, you move on to another wherever else you wish to grow next.
Even my favorites, I do not fully agree with, but they have been invaluable, nonetheless, especially the dead and legendary.
