Five guys playing a sport at the beach sounds wonderfully healthy and wholesome.

There are plenty of infantile adults but I don't know this applies more to men. I don't see why it would?

There is a notion among many people - men and women - that men who don't want to marry or have kids are "infantile." If they aren't interested in the responsibilities associated with marriage and children they are not "grown up." The reality, of course, is that many men enter into these arrangements (marriage, kids, etc) and only realize after the fact that they have no interest in the long-term responsibilities associated with them. And then, of course, it's too late. And these are adults?

I hold the opposite view. I think that men who avoid marriage and kids are actually being the opposite of infantile because they are acknowledging the difficulties associated with them ahead of time and choosing not to burden the woman or (potential) kids with someone not actually interested in marriage or kids. This is what adults do: they engage in introspection and plan to avoid bad outcomes.

Anyone that takes the road less traveled should be prepared for society to attempt to castigate them for rejecting convention, as such rejection forces folks to question their own choices.

I would say that just as there are some men who see women as a resource they are entitled to, there are also women who see men this way. "Our women, our men" mentality.

Men who are just hanging around, happy and not providing for a woman in their group, arouse similar subconscious irritations as women who show sexual affection to men from another group.

I think what causes this is that girls like this didn't have the emotional happy childhood, their emotions kinda got crushed, so now she's out there trying to impose what's in her head onto everyone else.

If she has the power to implement it this is what objectification actually is, is the man is supposed to be a money-collecting-object who just works and nothing else.

Guys hanging out is something I LOVE to see. Shane and Ryan, Sebastian and Anthony! It's my absolute favorite. Shane and Ryan are goofy and are comfortable with each other. They challenge one another and humor each other. I love it! Meanwhile, Sebastian and Anthony are supportive besties. Able to compliment each other, hang out and be silly, and simply enjoy their friendship. I'm a STAN for these types of friendships. I support them.

These relationships take maturity and is the antithesis of "infantile". A mature man can enjoy his male friends, enjoy sports, and give a hug without fear of being called feminine. They are comfortable with themselves, have developed social and emotional connections, and are confident in their friendships.

I'm here for it.

Playfulness does not denote infantilism. Her entire thesis falls apart the moment you point out alternative explanations for the causes of fatherlessnes. Such as 1. Masculine disenfranchisement, 2. No benefits to fatherhood, 3. Loss of freedom, 4. Women's loud message that men are not needed, 5. Women themselves pushing the fathers away. 6. Men have more opportunities in life - just as women do - and do not want to be bogged down with fatherhood. Men cannot be forced to be fathers and take up that responsibility just as women get to enjoy that privilege.

By the way, "playfulness" is a hallmark of intelligence. Tell her she needs a few more semesters of psychology before she figures that out.

I would think its just tough to show immaturity in a photo so she just grabbed a random stock photo of guys, nothing more. But yes, there is a trend of both men and women growing up spoiled by 1st world comfort and never achieving the maturity that struggle develops. You don’t have to be feminist to see it shifting.

There's usually a huge discrepancy between the amount of information present in a picture and the amount of information present in a seven word description of the picture. I can't really agree or disagree without the picture itself.

It's because they look like they have no/low responsibilities. Often boys and men with few responsibilities either end up getting into trouble or they become a net burden on society.

I think because directionless men have a tendency to cause more chaos than directionless women or at least are perceived to, the men are more closely shame policed than the women.
