I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. A lot of male users on this sub criticize the female users because we tend not to believe or underestimate the difficulties men face with regards to dating. This is because in our experiences, (normie) young men tend to have the advantage and do take liberties with these advantages. To clarify, I mean it is very common to encounter fuckboys who run around lying, cheating, and hurting people because they tend not to catch feelings for the people they’re dating or because they’re low in social EQ. And these kinds of men aren’t “chads”, they look like the average r/truerateme poster (don’t @ me with the 80/20 rule or the OkCupid study. I read all of the study and the end results are not what people on this sub claim they are).

There is also the additional perspective that these kinds of men are more common than their female counterparts, primarily because of the belief that young women are more likely to get romantically attached. These two additional beliefs just widen the differences in perspective between the male users and the female users on this sub. I personally believe there’s a 50/50 chance of encountering different variations of this type of young men. Not to say that I don’t believe shitty women don’t exist, it’s just that I’ve met a LOT more women with shitty exes than the reverse.

So when some male users on here say “Women act so shitty and entitled in the SMP and men don’t” it runs directly against my own observations (and the observations of a lot of other women) of about half the men in the SMP doing exactly the things they’re criticizing. Of all looks ratings. The ugliest dudes I’ve dated have actually treated me the worst.

I don’t think these differences in perspectives can ever be reconciled but I’m interested in what other people have to say.
