Anything under 6 feet is going to gradually reduce the number of women interested, but there will still be those who don't care that much. And it depends on the platform, irl maybe less but if you put your height in you bio online and it's <5'10 ISH it's going to reduce your chances significantly.

I'm 5'6 and while no-one has outright said that's the issue I can see a drastic difference in the results online when I for sciences sake put it out there.

Someone posted a piece to a study that said men 5'5 and up have the same n count on average. Below 5'5 it is 1 less partner. There's your real answer.

Here's the actual economic data. It becomes a serious issue between 5'8"-5'9" for men and 5'7"-5'8" for women.

The effect for men and height reaches the point of maximization at 6'6" but does not decrease even at 6'10".

I think anything under 5’8” maybe 5’9” begins to be perceived at shortish. I also think different guys can seem taller or shorter than they are depending on other things like musculature and how they “carry themselves” (confidence), but somewhere in that 5’8-5’9” range is what I’d say.

Also, anecdotally, I have absolutely seen short guys with gorgeous girls. I’m pretty big into fitness / lifting myself so I am friends and acquaintances with lots of fit guys. I have seen amateur bodybuilders in the 5’6” range with literal fitness model chicks. These girls are incredible. They are admittedly usually shorter than the guy, but they are still with a “short” guy.

I’d like to say my height at 5’6, but honestly I think people at 5’8 and above can make it work somewhat. At 5’10 is where dating stays stagnant in that your height isn’t a disadvantage but not an advantage, and 6 feet up it becomes an advantage.

Regardless though, it’s not the number of inches or cm that makes it a problem, its how you look compared to other men in the room, and how short or tall you are in comparison. For example, if you’re 5’6 and in a room of mostly 5’9/5’10 guys, then you look short, but if you’re in a room with 5’6 guys, then you look like everyone else. That’s what people miss, women care about your height compared to other men, which is why women don’t give an exact number. Hell if you’re 5’9 and everyone around you is 5’9, then she’ll think your height is fine.

I have two friends. They're both athletes who lift impressive amounts to compete and are gunning for serious titles in their respective fields. One of them can lift like almost triple his body weight. But they're both like 5'8 Asian dudes. I watch them do a lot more posturing than I see them actually sealing the deal or being considered an option by the people around them. They also do a lot more posturing than any of my taller friends.

Anyone shorter than that in my circle has basically given up. Anyone taller is going on more actual dates or is at least trying to be active instead of posturing.

The short friends who I know do well have an EXTREMELY masculine demeanor and non ugly faces. Personally ive only seen things become a real problem if the dudes under 5'5 - 5'8 and isn't masculine.

5'4" for men. They've done studies. The average number of sexual partners for men doesn't drop in a significant way until 5'4" (and it's still not non-zero). It shouldn't be a surprise, either, that "coincidentally" 5'4" is the average height for women, and that something like 70% of women prefer a man who is taller (not "tall") than they are.

I don't really think height starts to become a significant disadvantage to men in dating until they're below 5'7

I know a few 5'6" guys who clean up their dating pool. I'd say you rarely see < 5'7" guys with hot girls because there's not many <5'7" guys to begin with (<25% of the population), and of those not every one will do the work/have the other qualities required to attract a "hot girl."

Idk I mean I guess it depends on other things, I’ve known little guys who were tough badasses, like 5’4 and I definitely wouldn’t fuck with them, so someone like that— probably not a problem. I’ve also known guys who were 6’ and big pussies.

That said all things equal I think anything less than 5’8 is gonna be in short range

I'm 5'4.

Its never really been a problem. I've been directly rejected over my height twice. Its not really worth thinking about. If I actually try (read: talk to girls), usually I'll find someone pretty quickly who isn't a total warpig.

I will say there is a significant difference between being "slim" and having a physique. It seems that being physically imposing is more important than overall height.

BP'ers don't want to admit there is a glass ceiling when it comes to mate quality. This can only be broken via a very significant modifier such as fame or money.

Yeah you can compensate in some way or another, but its annoying when everyone around you is like, "muh personality" and if you are short and ugly, oh man.

Anything below 5'10 and the problems start. You can be as short as 5'7 and still be a Chad if you have an elite face/frame combo. Anything below 5'7 and you are gonna have problems no matter how much else you have going for you.

Whether height is a disadvantage depends on her height, her preferences, and how important those preferences are to her.

I know a girl who was primarily attracted to height. It didn't matter how skinny or asthetically challenged a guy is. As long as he was super, duper, duper tall, he's hot.

For others, height makes little to no difference beyond a certain point. They only care that a guy is taller than them.

Since women are, on average, 5 inches shorter than men, finding a short-enough women won't be hard for most men.

If they are having problems, it is not just because of height.

It’s funny how online forums argue about male height, just like people argue about say, tits irl.

Of course it matters but not as much as some argue. Women shouldn’t deny it and scramble to think of exceptions, and men shouldn’t say it’s a death sentence like an incel.

I suppose there are several cutoff points. 6’, 5’11, 5’9, 5’7, 5’5, with increasing impact. However, ime women care about it for LTR more than casual, unlike what men on Reddit claim. You guys just can’t get casual sex for other reasons. All my LTR, mediumTR, were with women clearly shorter than myself, but for casual, I’ve been with a bunch about my height and taller.

That said, one of the most sought after dudes in my arts program was a tiny guy, maybe 5’6” but wildly funny, talented and had the sweetest face you have ever seen. He was chased by most girls in the department (who he diplomatically rejected) and everyone died a little when he paired off with a very, very pretty equally tiny girl. They are now married. She is a teacher and he does bit roles on TV. He had high status as a performer and everyone just loved him. He wasn’t trying to bone thots at bars, he played the charming guy game in his own social/professional circles. Worked for him.
