I often see BPers say they don't have a stance and just that TRP is wrong. Unfortunately, this is rather cowardly and doesn't leave much to debate. It is much easier to just tear down an argument then it is to actually create one. It is also a lie in the sense that you as an individual have a view, and you are not willing to share it. Most people offering their views do not care about a group that does not have one itself.

Originally, upon coming to this subreddit I had the idea and intention that I would smooth out some RP ideas and thoughts since what is found on TRP is harsh and not meant for people who don't care to hold that ideology or set of principles. It's also always been a sort of work in progress. There are 50k subscribers and I would be surprised if even a quarter knew what they were talking about, or weren't just there to complain and actually made themselves better. I also wanted to hear what BPers thought about how things actually are because you have to have some assumptions even if they are not RP ones.

When I actually started engaging people in discussions, I noticed BPers rarely offered something constructive, and almost always fell into one or more categories:

  • My initial statement that TBP doesn't have a stance, and they are just there to tear down whatever points you have without putting up a claim of their own. I don't believe you can just go through life claiming you don't know anything and operate under that principle as well. No one does that. Even if you can't claim to know, you can still claim your belief, or your best bet even.

  • Gay or bi, which doesn't really effectively further a discussion about a majority of relationships. My only qualm with this is the current over-representation here. From the BPers who actually respond to me, it seems like more than half are not straight, which they've used to cherry pick arguments. If more than half of civilization was not straight, I would consider it something more valid than an over-representation of a minority.

  • Batshit crazy, with ideas just as nuts as some of the worse of TRP, but still willing to share. (I'm sure those traits go hand in hand.)

There were a few that gave vague statements about equality and respect and even fewer went into details between gender relations which I think is the most interesting but I would like to hear more of that.

So BPers, what are your views? The ones that are better alternatives if TRP is so bad. What do you believe to be true, or assume to be true? Especially if you can't even handle the more moderate RP positions.

Again, if you are aware you are a minority because of LGBT or whatever, that's fine, but i'm already aware your view is different and also a minority as most people are not LGBT. Further, since this is not about TRP, I'm not accepting anything that is just the opposite or lack there of TRP concepts. If you believe the genders are different, in what ways? Why? If you are going to operate under the idea that men and women are the same, where is your evidence? By default, men and women appear different, they have different chromosomes, and they act different, you have to prove they would be the same under ideal (i.e. "equal") conditions. My thoughts on studies still stands and if you want to cite soft science, you are going to have to show the studies were adequately controlled and reproducible. Also, if you are going to use words like respect and equality, explicitly define them, they mean different things to different people. Lastly, don't use vague statements like "I treat them like people".

If you are unwilling to make claims about your beliefs and just wish to say TBP doesn't have a stance while trying to tear down TRP without offering alternatives, please crawl back to your cesspit subreddit. That is what your subreddit is for, they'll make you feel good about yourself over there. This is a place for debate, and it seems like its mostly TRP that steps up to the plate. There is only so many times we can discuss the same thing over and over. For the BPers that do offer their views, I salute you. At least from here maybe we can generate some meaningful discussion about how things work other than from just a RP viewpoint. It's something I think this subreddit is lacking.

Edit: I am not looking for a collective BP stance. I am looking for a BP stance, or BP stances. If you respond saying TBP does not have one, you've missed the point, try again and give me your stance. If you say you are not obligated to, you've again missed the point. Go to your own subreddit if you want to circlejerk.
