Many men seem to have a problem grasping the idea of objectification and why its wrong - i wondered why for quite some time and then it hit me - many men are incapable of seeing themselves, other men or the world around them outside of an objectifying lens.

Men always objectify themselves and each other - I think nothing exemplifies this better in the dating world than the constant attempt at basing their entire value on things like their jobs, material resources and looks. To many men, a man is worthless if he isn’t “high value” (hell - the terms high/low value themselves are very objectifying), and i think that’s why many men present their cases on why they’re datable in a very resume, “look at my qualifications” kind of way.

Women are viewed as objects to be desired, as prizes partly because a man believes he has no value without said prize - there is no human value involved, no appeal to one’s inner self, emotional sense of being and so on - because value doesn’t come from what one does for themselves, value comes from function - ie. how useful is this tool?

I think one fundamental issue men need to tackle before even considering all of the other issues with male psychology is this objectifying view of the world.
