I just want to highlight that the "average" American statistics are heavily broken. The "average" American is 50 years old when you control for those under 20 - which is what most statistics are doing. They're not including tweens in their average weight, height, etc. stats. They are only including those that are age 20 and above. (sometimes 18 and above but often it's 20 and above)

This is one of the most neurotic points of this subreddit that I think people don't get.

Please stop using "average" American when no one who is in their 20's is trying to date a 50 year old. Similarly, "average" in San Francisco is nowhere near what it's like in Wichita.
