I like a 5 year age gap. He’s has more life experience which makes it easy for you to follow his lead, but you can still relate on a lot of childhood memories, it’s not like you’re from completely different generations.

You know how people say women grow up before men? I think that’s only partly true. I met my partner when I was 25 and he 28 and I am 100% sure if we would have met sooner we would have had the same outcome. (Except I probably wasn’t ready for it.) He has always been loyal and it has always been the women (he had poor judgement in women before me) who screwed it up by cheating and mental health issues.

My brother is the same way, he would go to the ends of the earth and be forever loyal to someone if they let him. Honestly the same even goes for my father, him and my mother got together when they were both 18 and technically he is 6 months younger than my mother. My mom was his first everything (but he wasn’t my moms😅). All are very loyal and traditional men who provide for their women and I love them all for it.

A lot of older men who exclusively seek out younger women to date have the same traits that you’re describing: flaky, lack of direction in life, seeking casual sex/ wanting to keep options open, non-committal, emotionally immature.

Not necessarily. I've seen plenty of immature older men on dating apps. The most mature, self aware human being I have ever known is actually a 19 year old guy who I was very very lucky to know. (I'm 20 so it isn't weird)

You're not alone. There are good young men, I won't deny that, but when I was young, the best men all seemed to be so much older than I was -- starting in their early thirties.

And all of them were squicked to high heaven at the thought of dating a woman nearly or precisely half their age! But I never was somehow.

I hear a lot about how older men who date younger women are creeps because they won't view them as an equal and are essentially "taking advantage" of their supposed naivety which at times can have some truth but I find it hard to believe that it's like that 100% of the time, right? Personally I can't relate to guys my age that much and a lot of them seem very immature and just not on the same wavelength as me in terms of what they want and value in a relationship but at the same time I don't want to date an older guy and then have it turn out that he's not seeing the relationship in the same way that I am. I don't know that much about red pill women I'm just lurking on here -- I am interested to learn though! Wouldn't be lurking if I wasn't interested -- so correct me if I'm saying anything out of line here, I'm just curious based off what I've been told about age gaps

I don’t think it’s an age thing. Some men are immature even in their 40s and 50s… Maturity, values, commitment and ability to provide all depend on the man, not his age. I had a friend who would date guys in their 30s and 40s and they weren’t even looking for anything serious… she ended up marrying a 25 year old man who is amazingly mature, committed and shares her values!

Personally, as a young woman at her peak, I’d prefer a man around the same age as me. I don’t find older men attractive and they creep me out. Nothing against women who do find them attractive but it’s just not for me. Why should I be with an older man just because he “might” be better than a younger man? I’d rather be with a young man who fits all my standards. Attraction is important for women too!!

I (28F) am in a very happy and committed relationship with my (36M) partner. Because of our age gap I am sure he is done clubbing and playing around. We have the same mindset for our future together and I feel very grateful how we have established everything.

Older men with younger women has always been the way things work best. It's only in relatively recent history that coupling at similar ages has been seen as the norm, driven chiefly by modern conveniences, technology, and feminism.

The reason age parity dating is hard for women is because it takes men longer to get to the level where they can be the provider and protector. Men have no real value until they develop themselves, whereas women have value simply by being attractive and nice.

Men do not start to hit their stride as it concerns career and finances until they get to their 30s. From there its a steady ramp upward if they've done things correctly. And men's value continues to climb from there until they start to get to retirement age.

What this means for women in their 20's is that if they want full provision and protection they are far more likely to find it in a man who is in his 30's/40's. If you look at history up thru the 1950's this has been the way of things.

A man here: it's a hypothetical example but a good food for thought: if all young women (let's say, women of age < 25) start dating older men (greater than 30), then how will the young guys get an idea of what they want from a relationship?

Isn't the whole point of dating and having relationships young is to know yourself, to know your needs and then seek someone who can provide them what they need?

In the short-term this might seem like a good strategy, but it doesn't really solve the larger cultural problems in the long term. Don't give up on the younger guys your age. I mean, if it works out that the guy is older, there's nothing wrong with that. But age alone doesn't mean a man will grow up. From what I've seen, older men are not much better than younger men. In fact, some are arguably worse. Also, many have already been in relationships, had kids, and thus will have less resources to provide and be bitter on top of it all.

Often it takes having to take on the responsibility for a woman (preferably as his wife) and children for a man to grow up, regardless of his age. So, some of these young guys might seem like a "lost cause" but, with the right girl who expects him to grow up and be responsible, most of them will do just that, especially if the man falls in love.

Full text: I hope this post is read in good faith, as I’m not trying to put anyone down here. But I have noticed a trend that young twenty-something women like myself (23f) are having so many struggles when they try to find a man who is also a young twenty-something.

The young guys seem to have problems with these: 1.) being steadfast in their values 2.) commitment in relationships (especially pertaining to issues like waiting for marriage, or starting a marriage/family) 3.) protecting and providing

Am I alone here in thinking that older guys are better at these traits? My fiancé is 31, which I realize might be a big age gap for most people. But even guys who are in their late twenties seem to have it more figured out. So I guess my question could also be; would a lot of our problems with dating be solved if we just dated the older guys?
