Susan Winter

Best-selling author/relationship expert

First sentence:

I hate dating.

LOL, get your relationship advice from this expert who hates relationships now!

Heh, it reminded me of Conan O'Brien's review of Tomb Raider:

http://uproxx.com/gammasquad/2013/02/conan-lara-croft-tomb-raider/

From there, the game takes a darker tone. “I hate tombs,” Lara Croft says. Conan replies to the TV, “Yeah, guess what, THEN DON’T BE A TOMB RAIDER.”

Seriously, TRP should make it a rule that you can't link to these shitty feminist propaganda sites, and have to do what you did.

[–]veggie_girl 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

It's pretty easy to block domains in the moderator settings. I'd be for it with sites like Jezebel, Huffpo, etc..

[–]srtor 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This. Stop providing traffic to any feminist sites like Huffpo. Mods FYA.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

newcomer here, you guys do a good job already. I have not had to click, or accidentally clicked and visited any such sites. You guys almost always have the article copy and pasted.

[–]anonlymouse[🍰] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

HuffPo US sure, but HuffPo UK seems a bit more balanced.

[–]ReverendDexter 105 points106 points107 points 12 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Sounds like bragplaining. "Oh, I went out with 98 guys in 3 months that each would take me to a fancy restaurant and then try to woo me with their riches and powerful connections; dating is so turrible I don't know why anyone does it! I just magically have wonderful fulfilling relationships that appear out of nowhere, why doesn't everyone just do that?"

[–]scrubzor55 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Except she doesn't have relationships that appear out of nowhere... otherwise she wouldn't be single and needing to go on 98 dates. She's got the princess fantasy going on in full force.

[–]Fetish_Goth 42 points42 points42 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Maybe she was trying to save money on food for a few months.

[–]PlanB_pedofile 19 points20 points21 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

That's what my ex does through ok cupid. She hasnt had to eat at home for the past 6 months thanks to online dating

[–]Fetish_Goth 45 points45 points45 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

There is no more privileged class in the world than white women living in the USA.

I was reading a book called Ringworld by Larry Niven. In it, there is a girl that has essentially been bred for luck. She is so lucky, she doesn't understand what it feels like to be hurt. She is always protected. She doesn't know what it feels like to be lonely. There is always someone there for her when she needs it. She doesn't know what it feels like to have to work at a relationship. There is always convenient reason for her to separate from people when she needs one. She doesn't know what it feels like to not get what she wants. The universe literally bends to her impulses. She is almost a new species because she is so removed from the typical human experience.

I thought this was a pretty apt description of what it's like to be an attractive young woman in the west.

[–]Newbosterone 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The birth lottery idea leading to a woman bred for luck blew my mind when I first read Ringworld. Then years later I realized we all were bred for luck - out of hundreds of million sperm, just one could be first.

[–]Viperys 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That book is wonderful. Have you read up to Tina's demise yet?

[–]1whatsazipper 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hahaha. Yeah, I know girls like that too. They're pretty open about it since they don't have any respect for the men they find online. It was a firm reminder for me to never consider giving a girl anything of value prior to fucking. Otherwise, most seem inclined to use you.

[–]binglebongledingle 12 points13 points14 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Bragplaining. Ever since the trp post about it a few days ago, I see women doing this everwhere

[–]beginner_ 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

exactly my thoughts. Looking for validation that 98 guys wanted to fuck her. Yeah you're a great little princess. Pat on your back. And I now need to go puke...that was my reaction who ti would be to fuck her if she is just as passive as in the dates.

[–]trp165 24 points25 points26 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What's wrong with looking nice and presentable and being interesting on a date?

[–]1aguy01 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Cause the guys will still fuck her so why bother.

[–][deleted] 83 points84 points85 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

"I don't have 'game'"

No shit. You're a woman.

"I still prefer the old-school method of connection where I'm just doing my thing and happen to meet someone special."

Translation: I prefer when I can just live my life merrily and men will have to do all the work to chase after me.

[–]1aguy01 39 points40 points41 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Yep. She doesn't even want to put in the effort to look good. She just wants to fuck around (banging randoms and badboys in NSA relationships) while waiting for her Prince to sweep her off her feet.

The thing this hoe doesn't get is that if she met her prince he would be disgusted by her.

[–]srtor 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

this is a common mantra of all feminists.

[–]Hachibeechu -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I see this mentality a lot and I'm a little confused by it. If a girl who takes the world for what it is and enjoys orgasms with multiple guys is not LTR material, why are guys who take the world for what it is and enjoy orgasms with multiple women LTR material? She dresses for tail, she is disgusting. But this whole subreddit advocates men being all that they can be solely FOR tail. One sex can meet a person and decide to be faithful but the other can't? Everyone here is so open and honest about wanting to up their pussy game, but would be mistrustful of any pussy wanting to up their dick game. It seems like a pretty closed generalization and weirdly bitter and unfair. Plus a lot of the men here seem to easily cut ties with their LTRs if they so much as dress to flirty or basically engage life in a way that threatens the man. But all the men want to be so Alpha and unconcerned that the women fall at their feet. Isn't that the same as the women being unconcerned and wanting men to fall at their feet? And at the end of it all if an Alpha can easily walk from a LTR, they don't seem to be good LTR material themselves. Can someone explain this? I'm trying to understand.

[–]1aguy01 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Male lifetime sexual partners is not correlated with divorce like female lifetime sexual partners is. There's a study that is always posted here about it. And when 2 people get married the girl almost always gets to walk away with the dudes money.

Look into r/redpillwomen. Girl 'game' (looking good and not being a cunt) is used to secure high value men for relationships. Not to fuck more dicks. The slut in this article put the bare minimum amount of effort into herself and got 98 dates in 9 months but she didn't entice a single high-value male (high-value doesn't mean lots of money) into a relationship.

Your prince charming doesn't want a slut. That's just how it is.

[–]reddishman 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because women are the gatekeepers of sex and men are the gatekeepers of relationships.

It's in the mans best interest to keep his gate guarded while he try's to fuck as many women as possible with little or zero investment of resources.

[–]ReturnThroughAether 41 points42 points43 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I rail at the notion of being appealing, engaging and alluring

So what? You want to be some sloppy, insufferable fuckpig forever?

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

She'd certainly expect it from the men.

[–]Endorsed ContributorCrimsonCapsule 93 points94 points95 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Of course she doesn't want to date! She wants serendipitous magic, where the forces of Fate send Mr. Right tangling a dog leash around her ankles at the local park.

This is why day game is so effective, BTW. That "it just happened" hamster gets kicked into overdrive.

[–]10pack 21 points22 points23 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

You're not getting it...

She's going on dates where the guy peacocks the entire time. It's like going onto facebook and all you see are the bullshit highlights of someone's life, and everyone is trying to one up one another.

[–]CptDefB 15 points16 points17 points 12 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

I think he does get it, it's not really about peacocking per se. She's generalized the dates of 98 men. I'm sure at least one or two (if she was truly carte blanche with her date acceptance -- as opposed to accepting 98 versions of the same guy, which is not hard in NYC) actually tried to steer the conversation in a way that they could relate to her somehow (aka, let her talk about herself).

His post serves as an excellent TLDR.

I don't really want to put forth any effort. I just want to feed my "it just happened" hamster with new stories to tell my girlfriends judge other people so I can feel better about myself.

Totally passive.

edit: which isn't to say the peacocking thing isn't something to avoid... I just think that's a footnote beneath the main subtext of the article.

[+]10pack -7 points-6 points-5 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

These guys just want to fuck/get her approval, and she wants a real relationship.

Do what you love already and meeting someone that way is better than dating random strangers and pray you'll meet someone like yourself.

[–]1kick6 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

These guys just want to fuck/get her approval, and she wants a real relationship.

No she doesn't. She wants a fantasy rom-com relationship complete with the "meet cute" the unavoidable seperation (drama) and then the chase that results in "Happily Ever After." (patent pending)

[–]Ob1Kn00b 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If she wanted a real relationship, SHE WOULDN'T BE BLOGGING ABOUT DATING 98 MEN.

[–]zpatriarchy 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

no you aren't getting it. she is used to random hookups & wishes a real relationship were that easy. where there are no judgements. she talks about seeing "the good" in bad men & how it was "effortless" from first meeting.

bad boys got her into bed right away & she hamstered away the bad. she wishes some guy on the date would treat her like garbage like she's used to.

[–]LAMFF 61 points62 points63 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Yuck. Please don't link to Huffpo. Copy and paste the article or take a screen shot. The author of this pithy drivel doesn't deserve the spike in traffic generated by our curious outrage. Btw, 98 men in 9 months is probably the closest thing to accurate number for how many men that women actually see over short periods of time because it's just that easy.

[–]KingStabs 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Ad-block, simple as that. Yes, it does affect revenue.

[–]LAMFF -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Is there ad-block for mobile devices?

[–]smile_e_face 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

There is for Android and iOS. I don't know about Windows Phone or anything else.

[–]WishfulTraveler -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I've looked for one and I've found none. Do you have a name I can look up?

[–]smile_e_face 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Android: https://adblockplus.org/en/android-install

iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/adblock-for-ios-must-have/id537774578?mt=8

iOS (Jailbroken): http://cydia.saurik.com/package/com.yllier.blocker/

The jailbroken tweak is vastly superior to the app for vanilla iOS, but the app will let you browse ad-free. Also, how hard did you look? It took me about two minutes of Googling.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

My apologies for that. I don't want to give this filthy scum anymore attention then she needs.

[–]youngbulker 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

tabloid article writing lmao passed on as legit news at the hufpost!

[–]Endorsed ContributorWe_Are_Legion 35 points36 points37 points 12 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

Hmm...

The dating experience is tedious on every level. The need to dress up, straighten my hair and wonder if I'm good enough feels like poison running through my veins. It reminds me of my summers at the Minnesota State Fair where I'd see local farmers parading their cows, pigs and horses in hopes of winning a Blue Ribbon.

Firstly, let me define my usage of the word "dating." I'm referring to the traditional meaning -- that of "courtship." Dating has now been construed to mean sexual hook-ups. I didn't sleep with 98 men. 98 men courted me.

I ate my way through every restaurant in Manhattan and spent far more time in Starbucks than any human who has their own WiFi. No less than three times a week I'd put on the same outfit (perhaps a little half-hearted on my part) and meet a new man for dinner or coffee. I sat. I listened. I ate. I drank.

How awful. I feel for you.

This is like the non-journalistic cliché version of Marie Antoinette making light of the commoners. 98 of which just finished being used... giving her their all... for nothing in return. Along with their best sincere efforts made a mockery of.

She had 98 men bear the cost(possibly many thousands of dollars by the description) of her social experiment.

Why are we giving this humblebrag so many page views? Its obvious despite her annoyed tone she loves the attention.

In fact, the only thing of merit I find in this whole "article" is this part:

Men name-drop their friendships with celebrities and clarify their numerous positions of power and influence. They rattle off their trips in foreign cities, identify their cars by the manufacturer's name and list their homes by prestigious locations. They dangle their toys in front our eyes in the hopes that we'll bite the bait. Oddly, they're not the bait. Their possessions are the bait.

In the midst of their parade of toys, men yearn to see our eyes dilate with interest. They wait to hear the, "Ooohhhh, really?" And they too, hope they'll be worthy of our acceptance. This is why I hate dating. Now that I've done it, I'm even more certain I was correct in not doing it in the first place.

Even if you have the bling of Elliot Rodgers, and a 8/10 body, if you don't know how to play your value... if you're still begging for attention, you're not much different from your average nice guy... slightly better perhaps... but you're still a creeper to most women.

Without a bit of game, even with money, you can be still be a pretentious loser, like these 98 chumps. The kind she knows at some level to use, and discard.

Think of it this way; a woman's vagina can't look at your bank account to measure if you're actually worth getting tingles for. It can look at your behaviours though, some of the more attractive of which may be enabled by large bank accounts. Completely dependent on its instinctual perception of you, the vagina plays the odds, and labels you beta anyway. At some level, its right... You may have a case of shit genes and great luck.

Being an alpha-looking loser... may well be better for your interests than being a beta-looking winner.

At least that way, her sons may inherit personalities worth having.

As an outer borough resident of NYC, I would like to say that not all New Yorkers are like that, especially the ones that are born here. We know that the whole gold digger scene exists. You have to make a decision at a young age as to whether to engage it and how. That said, even if you don't engage in that scene, it does warp your mind datingwise.

[–]noblepaladin 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or that they specifically do it because they detect that she is materialistic. She's probably goading them into doing so because she already decided the narrative that she wants to write and she has already decided that she won't find a man good enough for her (she even admits to not putting in enough effort and wearing the same thing). That and the economic incentive of getting 98 free meals in NYC. That isn't cheap.

[–]1aguy01 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Her bio says she is a "relationship expert". Lol.

[–]kanaduhisfruityeh 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

This is why prostitution is illegal. I'd rather pay a hooker if it cost less money than blowing money on a date with a woman who wasn't going to have sex with me. At least a hooker would get to the point.

[–]Endorsed ContributorBluepillProfessor 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

AND you know the price up front, and you know what you are going to get, and she will at least pretend to like it....

[–]watersign 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

indeed. women will be outraged once it becomes legal because it will take away their power

[–]Gunseng 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No they won't be and it will not change anything. I am from a country where prostition is legal and has been legal for more than ten years and it has not changed anything at all. It is heavily stigmatized and hence most men do not hire prostitutes. Even if it was more common, most men want a proper wife to start a family and legal prostitution does not help here at all.

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points22 points 12 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

jesus christ. 98 men in 9 months? and she's a fucking old hag? holy fuck.

[–]Endorsed ContributorWe_Are_Legion 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

You know, as soon as I saw the title I thought it might be interesting to look at how attractive she must have been to able to score a date every 3 days.

This is the author.

Even more interesting is apparently all the men in this experiment fulfilled two standards: been "agreeable"(disqualifies a few) and approached her.

Hmm... possibly she is a natural option for older men with lots of money, as they think they can't score too far below their ages, and as far as post-wall women go... no, no. I won't try. This defies reason.

[–]thebears1986 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I am guessing she used a dating website. It explains how she was asked out so often. Also, at the end of her article she states how she likes bumping into people in real life more. She mentions at the park or at the gym. To me that means she wasn't approached in real life, but rather online.

[–]RedFlagsAreGood 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

For a woman above 30 dating online, just not being overweight puts her in the top 50% if not the top third (depending on location). Add high-value guys who don't know that they can date younger (because they pay attention to the requested age ranges listed in profiles) and there you have it.

[–]Newbosterone 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Amen. But in truth, it's the same for (older) men. Don't have obvious flab, though a slight beer belly is ok, have average social skills (little or no game), and make an average salary, and you're in the top third. Have strong game and the other two factors don't matter. The only caveat is that many Wall women (28 - 36) are more picky, and more trouble than they're worth. It's a great market for men 45+ looking to date 10 to 15 years younger. Lots of choices, and you set the terms of the deal - monogamous or open LTR, "companionship" (post wall woman speak for "part of a harem, but don't rub my nose in it"), or "just looking" ( post wall speak for second or third date sex, with a couple of follow up sessions).

Life is good.

[–]culofiesta 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

That's not really that hard for a man that has his shit together. When I was last single at 37, after having not dated for years, I was lining up four or five dates a week. It's exhausting though.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

i didnt say it was hard but its fucking disgusting. i am not getting laid right now but i could NEVER do 98 girls in 9 months man because the way a guy gets laid like that is he goes to clubs and picks up dirty sloots or he forks out a lot of cash and im not into either

[–]culofiesta 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not talking about sex. I went out with different women 4 or 5 a week for a short while. I could have had sex with most of them but that's kind of gross. I'd rather work up to that.

[–]blackberrydoughnuts 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

98 men in 9 months for a woman whose only USP is that she's a woman. Cry me a fucking river.

True. Here we have a middle-aged, not particularly pretty woman who nevertheless just has to snip her fingers and can collect dates as others collect stamps, and has at least somewhat affluent guys lining up trying to one-up one another...

I have no problem with the article as such and the obervations it makes, but it just proves a point. And yet women say they're not dating on easymode because there is only a finite amount of Prince Charmings around.

[–]Newbosterone 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

With a degree in Opera Performance, is it any surprise she's a diva?

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points16 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

This woman is fooling herself if she thinks that meeting someone organically (rather than through online dating) is any different in terms of how each person advertises themselves to the other person in the hope that they will find them attractive, interesting, and worthy of acceptance.

And judging from her closing paragraph, she's single, lonely, and losing hope but is desperately trying to convince herself that she doesn't care, in overly-dramatic fashion.

[–]intrcept 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

She's single and lonely because she chooses to be lonely. Apparently there are guys asking her out.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Sure but they aren't the guys she really wants.

[–]intrcept 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If she plows through -- or gets plowed by -- 98 guys in a few weeks and none of them are any good, the problem is with her. In addition, writing that article is an SMV killer.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ha wow this really is trash. A mess of barely concealed boasting ('I went out with every half decent man that asked me - which btw was 3 times a week) and entitled whining.

Yes darling it's awful isn't it, feeling like you have to make the slightest effort to find romance. It should just fall into your lap. Your day should just be filled with a procession of meet-cutes like you're in fucking Love Actually. You should never have to work for anything, 'being yourself' should be enough to get everything you want.

Hilarious

[–]Modredpillschool 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

She teaches the art of flirting in order to capture a man's attention. I don't want art. I want to meet a man organically in an environment where I can be myself and interact naturally.

I don't want to do something to attract somebody, I want it to happen to me.

But I know who I am. I love easily and effortlessly.

Just not to the 100 guys I just got free dinners off of. None of them are any good. But really, I'm very easy to get along with. Why didn't those guys impress me? Oh, something wrong with those guys.

So, while I've satisfied my friends and family with giving dating a fair shot,

If you think going out with men like an addict chain smokes is giving "dating a fair shot" I got news for you...

I still prefer the old-school method of connection where I'm just doing my thing and happen to meet someone special. Whether walking my dog or at the gym, I'm where I want to be while living the life I love. And we meet. Naturally. Organically. The spark we find serves as our connection. We merge.

She just wants it to happen to her. It has to be magic.

Imagine the guy's version of this:

7 Dates in 9 Months, here's what I learned.

Women are superficial and don't seem to like me for who I am. I just want to meet somebody organically, but, it took all my energy just to get less than 1 date a month, I don't think I'll even meet a woman if I stop trying.

[–]M_rafay 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Spot on. There's really no other way to interpret this. I tried to think of it as genuine... but no... there's no other way to hear what she's saying and believe it.

I am convinced the author and the women and manginas in the comments have thought processes alien to me if they actually take this seriously otherwise.

[–]isthatyourdaughter1 points 12 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

I feel like there's a connection just past my reach here, between this, and chick crack, and why women say "we do all those things for ourselves, not to please men!" when it comes to makeup, beauty treatments, fashion, etc. Like women feel unfeminine if they have to work for their victories the way a man has to, instead of having them handed to them magically, because the universe thinks they're just that amazing.

"Men parade their toys while women serve as the cows, pigs and horses parading for our Blue Ribbon of acceptance.

So . . . she only went on dates with "agreeable" men? Sounds more like she only went on dates with rich beta providers who also happen to have NO GAME!

Seriously. Who the fuck talks about all that shit trying to impress someone? Nothing says low value like rattling off a list of accomplishments. Perhaps actually going out on "dates" is a form of selection, where guys dumb enough to agree to going on a date are so bluepill that they repulse their prospects. She's definitely stumbled on TRP truth, but she completely misinterprets it, although she does point out that men are lured into wasting money in restaurants. Clearly she had no trouble accepting all the free meals.

[–]manwhy 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Or maybe she experienced a particularly nasty case of wealthy beta self-selection. The men willing to date her are not the men she would choose to date. That's basically what The Wall is anyway.

[–]1aguy01 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good point, although she probably used online dating and selected the men with the highest incomes because women so don't care about money.

A relationship expert. So how do you qualify a standard for what determines what a relationship expert is? There is no set objective standard for this so anyone, ANYONE can be a relationship expert. If she is a relationship expert why is she struggling with relationships? I wouldn't take nutritional advice from the morbidly obese, so why is someone who is a failure at relationships considered a relationship expert? Relationship expert, how does one become that? Shallow, hollow, vapid, and intellectually bankrupt, that pretty much sums this up.

[–]intrcept 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How much false flirting and leading-on did it take for that chick to be asked out 98 times?

You realize that at least 50 guys got friendzoned out of all this, not realizing that this chick only wanted to get free food and sell a freelance article.

[–]Endorsed Contributorleftajar 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What a useless fucking article.

The title implies that she fucked those guys, which makes it effective clickbait. Then, she makes you skim all the way to the 7th paragraph to find out she just went on actual, boring dates. By that point, hopefully you're so invested you'll just keep reading.

The entire article is complaining. First, that she doesn't like to present her best. Second, that all men do is roll out their resume's to her.

What she DOESN'T SAY:

First, It's New Fucking York. Of course guys are going to brag about being successful; that's why they live there.

Second, she's massively over the hill. Way past the wall. She "just wants the right man," but for her that train left the station 15 years ago.

I can't believe this passes for journalism. Huffpost is a steaming pile of guano.

98 men and not one of them good enough for a relationship? Sounds to me like she went on 98 dates with copy cat versions of the same guy. Arrogant materialistic rich guys. She seems to say that she's not impressed by those material possessions... yet she keeps going on dates with those types of guys. Maybe she should head out to Williamsburg where people focus on their poetry and drink PBR instead of gin and tonics.

[–]manwhy 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Arrogant materialistic rich guys? She went on dates with ninety eight different men. The only common denominator is her.

[–]thesaltysoup 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, she sounds just a wee bit bitter. Then again, after 98 dates in 270 days (around one date every three days) may get old. Imagine having a date every three days...at some point spinning all those plates (assuming that it is not 98 individual women) would become a bit of a chore.

However, we are limited only by our imaginations as far as coming up with dates is concerned. Art museum? Walk in Koreatown? Make pancakes at your house? Totally up to you. As roosh says, we are the entertainers- the clowns. We have to put on a show to attract girls, and the same old song and dance of expensive restaurants and Starbucks gets boring. My guess is that some of these guys didn't spice it up enough for her...anyways.

[–]DanG3 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

With an attitude like that she had better pray 98 other men ask her out.

[–]1Mikesapien 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I hate dating. There. I've said it. Let's be clear about the mechanics of this concept. Dating is only a flirtatious first sniff of what may later be mounted.

And how much "mounting" isn't being reported, I wonder. 98 men in 9 months is quite the carousel ride. Even 10% of that is big numbers.

[–]Redpiller456 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

98 men in that time period is absolutely fucking insane.

She sounds difficult and impossible to please. I'm sure a lot of these men were betas, but there is something to be said of 98 different people under that time constraint. She has nothing to offer. I doubt she was disinterested in all 98, surely some caught her attention but didn't stick around. When she says she has "no game" she really means to say that she expects a white knight in shining armor to attend to her every need and request, and take care of her.

[–]icyhot39 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes. She expects to do nothing and get everything she wants. and the idea of having to put any effort into it at all disgusts her. This is the hollywood/disney idea of love. It just happens by magic.

Honestly, I sympathize with that because the mating game is exhausting and stupid on many levels. The difference between her and I is that I'm not going to be whining in 2 years about the lack of people interested in me.

[–]draketton 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Damn these paragraphs are on point.

I sat. I listened. I ate. I drank.

At the end of my social experiment, here's what I learned. Men parade their toys while women serve as the cows, pigs and horses parading for our Blue Ribbon of acceptance.

Three very valuable lessons here.

1) Money isn't the key to a woman's heart. If flaunting money gets you anywhere with a woman, she sees you as a meal ticket, not a soulmate or even a fun sexual partner.

2) You have to show status. Talking about it over a beer is boring. It also makes whoever you're talking to start considering if you're a liar. If you have social connections, positions of power, what have you, that you want to show off to a girl, the only way to do it is to physically bring the girl in front of whoever or whatever you want her to see.

3) Eye dilation is the ultimate IOI.

This article has great advice.

Don't be a rigid person, trying to impress people, while sitting in one spot for too long if you want to connect with some one at a meaningful level.

There was a lot of fluff where the writer was trying to act cool by being aloof. Maybe it was true about this person, maybe it wasn't. But, it's just a round about way to give good dating advice.

Made the mistake of getting one paragraph deep into another article of hers:

I must make this admission: I’m lazy lover. I apply no energy whatsoever to creating a love life. Why any man would seek my company at this juncture in my life is a complete mystery to me. I lack all desire to be receptive to a man’s advances and give no hint of interest. My attitude of laziness is compounded beyond its formal definition, as I have neither guilt nor remorse for my current state of affairs.

I don't understand why there are so many negative comments to this.

So, what gives?

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I haven't read her other stuff, so maybe there's a reason for the hate on her that I'm unaware of, but overall her article was decent and didn't reek of female entitlement.

It was, if any flaw is to be found, a bit on the naive side. She doesn't understand how dating works, and her social experiment doesn't really tell us much about dating, it tells us about her though. I understand her in a sense, I too preferred things to happen 'organically,' but in reality that is usually the shiny surface that hides the machinery behind the scenes. Dating is really just a more explicit way to go about it, and hard to avoid if social situations aren't available to permit potential mating pairs to spend time around each other.

She actually noticed some basic behaviours of human mating patterns, though I'll grant she seemed to lack an understanding of it. Just because (at least to her conscious mind) she is not attracted to possessions or social connections (and I do suspect some dishonesty with herself over this, but hey, I could be wrong about that) does not mean it is ineffective as a dating tactic - it gets used because it works, just like the "sex card" works, and she admits it.

Basically, she's mostly right, only a little wrong, and the article isn't bad at all.

The most interesting part for me was her description of what the men talked about. A lot of it was material or social proof but she also mentioned trips to foreign cities. So, I couldn't even talk about my travel experiences with her? That would cut out a lot of my more interesting stories lol. She actually doesn't leave much for men to talk about with her. Perhaps she would prefer if they talked about something they're passionate about - maybe how they totally raided Black Temple last night for the first time as a destro 'lock? I wonder if she would learn the meaning of 'be careful what you ask for.'

(Also... maybe these guys are just passionate about the quality possessions they get to enjoy the use of? Maybe living that version of the good life is spiritually fulfilling to them? I'd rather not judge.)

One more point... at least from that picture, sure she lacks the glow and smoothness of youth but she actually seems rather hot. I'd be willing to take her out and talk about fantasy role playing games with her. If you know what I mean.

I haven't read her other stuff, so maybe there's a reason for the hate on her that I'm unaware of, but overall her article was decent and didn't reek of female entitlement.

98 dates in 9 months? I haven't been on that many dates in 5 years! Nowhere does she say she went dutch on ANY of those dates. Read: female entitlement.

It was, if any flaw is to be found, a bit on the naive side.

She doesn't know how to be objectively introspective. If she was, she wouldn't have gone on 98 dates with basically the same guy. She laments that all of her dates tried to show off to her and brag about the traveling they've done.

She doesn't understand how dating works, and her social experiment doesn't really tell us much about dating, it tells us about her though.

"I rail at the notion of being appealing, engaging and alluring." This is what tells a lot about her and her views on dating. She wants the guys to put in all the effort because she's a "high-value" woman. Amiright? How else could she get 98 dates in 9 months?

I understand her in a sense, I too preferred things to happen 'organically,' but in reality that is usually the shiny surface that hides the machinery behind the scenes.

This makes sense. Women crave that alpha fux. They just don't want to know how we became alpha. If they knew TRP taught us to be alpha then they'd feel mislead or manipulated. What they don't understand is that EVERY alpha is taught to be that way; whether it be a RP male figure or TRP.

Dating is really just a more explicit way to go about it, and hard to avoid if social situations aren't available to permit potential mating pairs to spend time around each other.

Women don't need "social situations [that are] available to permit mating pairs to spend time around each other" because they are approached so often. I think you're projecting your insecurities about dating onto her. She wants dudes to day-game her into her fantasy "organic" relationship

If she wasn't attracted to those kind of guys, she wouldn't have gone on 98 dates with those types of guys.

Basically, she's mostly right, only a little wrong, and the article isn't bad at all.

Its a terrible article about one woman's escapade of getting free meals. There's really nothing of value.

She's boring...

(Also... maybe these guys are just passionate about the quality possessions they get to enjoy the use of? Maybe living that version of the good life is spiritually fulfilling to them? I'd rather not judge.)

Those guys are conditioned to become that way because thats what most women want/are attracted to.

One more point... at least from that picture, sure she lacks the glow and smoothness of youth but she actually seems rather hot. I'd be willing to take her out and talk about fantasy role playing games with her. If you know what I mean.

She's not good looking. Maybe a 5/10 at most. And, plus, why would you go out with her if you'd have to pay for the meal, be the entirety of entertainment for the night, watch as she doesn't put any effort into the date, and not get sex out it?

[–]2johnnight -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Once I also subscribed to the "organically meeting a snowflake" fantasy, but at some point we have to realize that life is too short and we have to make this happen. Buy the goddamn lottery ticket instead of waiting for it to fall into your lap.
