Science, as ever, is 5 years behind the observable trend. The 80/20 rule has become ever more bottle-necked over the last decade, and is closer to a 90/10 rule because of the effects of blatant hypergamy, especially in online dating. Especially telling is the pickiness of ugly women, and the number of average men who are committing to (having children with and marrying) objectively unattractive women. I fear where this growing imbalance shall end, personally.

Already know facts. What I find hilarious is this:

There are no villains in this story. Nobody can or should be blamed for his or her honest preferences, and if women collectively believe that most men are unattractive, what grounds does anyone, male or female, have to argue with them? We may pity the large majority of men who are regarded as unattractive and who have few or no romantic experiences while a small percentage of attractive men have many.

Let me try to rephrase this to the normal economy:

There are no villain in this story. Nobody can or should be blamed for his or her income, and if men collectively believe that most women are worse workers, what grounds does anyone, male or female, have to argue with them? We may pity the large majority of women who are regarded as unattractive workers and who have few or no advancement options in the work place while a small percentage of attractive female workers have many.

What would be the reaction to this version, I wonder... (I actually don't, cause we see what this version looks like every day by every female on the planet shouting for more money.)

So 80% of men are biologically predestined to have low wellbeing (via high sexual frustration), and the article says this is basically just nature. Nothing to be done about it. That's just how it is. The same argument is applied to almost every other aspect of dating too.

However ..... in the case where women have a biological disadvantage (eg childbirth, lack of negotiating for pay raises, choosing lower paid careers, being physically weaker), then it is "unfair" and they should be given help, special treatment , economic subsidies, "positive" discrimination, gender quotas and have their biological disadvantages fully compensated for.

Taking another view of this: why is sexual wellbeing not given high priority in our society? The answer is simple: women are doing just fine here, men are not. Therefore sexual wellbeing is judged to be low priority, insignificant, immoral even. Women's problems matter, men's don't.

What to do about this: become 10% or as close as you can, in at least 1 or 2 areas of life. Prioritise yourself because no-one else will. Don't support women: they already get near infinite societal support, your help is just needless sacrifice. Be nice to your fellow men, some of them will appreciate it more than a woman ever will.

Not new information, but a good article nonetheless. Interesting seeing it in terms of this gini coefficient. I remember seeing a chart where it compared how men rate women's attractiveness compared to how women rate men, and it came to much the same conclusions. That 80% of men are considered below average attractiveness, and women are rated by men pretty fairly, maybe even slightly above average bell curve.

A "normal" and stable society is not compatible with this state of affairs. Either there will be an ugly backslash from the hordes of ignored males, or there will be a significant fraction of males becoming women to take advantage of the dynamics in place, or men will create an artificially substitute to women and reestablish the balance. The article did not say women were rating men unfairly. The article states that men and women rate the opposite sex very differently.

This mismatch leads to:

Lots of sexually unhappy women who have to settle a man they feel is unworthy them
Lots more sexually unhappy women who can't get a man they find worthy to settle for them.
Lots more sexually unhappy guys who have to settle for a woman who dislikes them, and who they also may not find that attractive.
Lots more sexually unhappy guys who can't even get a date.
A small number of sexually extremely happy guys with who have their pick of the female litter, and take full advantage of that.

This is neither fair, nor unfair, this is reality. The good news for men is, you can change your sexual happiness by lifting yourself from category 4 to 5. Women can move effortlessly from category 2 to 1 and back again, but it doesn't help them much.

The obvious solution - get lifting.

The problem with these studies, and I don't see much talk of it in here, is that it's solely based on physical attractiveness. If that was the only factor in attraction it would be a nightmare for the species. And that's why OLD is awful. It essentially creates a space where that is the case. As it's popularity has risen the dating space has turned into a nightmare, as what was once a multifaceted decision for women (and men to a lesser extent) has been whittled down into a single attribute: physical appearance.

In the real world though, the balance is far better than these studies indicate because women are actually much less turned on by physical appearance than they are by other factors such as dominance, playfulness, confidence, leadership, etc. In a nutshell "character". In our not too distant past, it wasn't the best looking man who got the most women, it was the guy who led the tribe. That same selection process is still in play. Desire for good physical genetics is present in all of us, but desire for good mental genetics has been just as important in our species's development, especially from the female perspective. A man who can lead and control the group is always the most sexually appealing candidate for a woman. It's the same reason women largely prefer erotica where they can read about the qualities of a man, and men largely prefer porn where it's just strait physical beauty on display with little to no background info on anyone.

It's very common practice for women, in fact, to avoid a man who they deem is too attractive, assuming his attitude will be inherently bad due to his situation before they ever even get to know him. Tell practically any man "you don't want to date her, she's too pretty" and you'd get laughed out of the building.

The real world is not 80/20. I'm not sure what it is. I'd guess much closer to 60/40 or even equal. But 80/20 is the fake OLD world. Which is why most guys know OLD is shit for their gender.

This article is built on 2 premises that just seem completely wrong to me.

(1) black pill: that male attractiveness is based solely on visuals. We at red pill know this to not be true; social status, frame, dominance, emotional stimulation, preselection, verbal and non-verbal communication etc. account for a large part, if not majority, of a man’s SMV. But you can’t see any of this on Tinder with just photos. The old stories like Frog Prince mentioned in the article don’t tell woe-is-me tales of ugly guy miraculously getting a pretty girl, but they actually extol the non-physical male virtues (character, courage, etc) that intrigue and attract the female mind/hamster.

(2) superiority of monogamy: the article assumes, if 80% of women are competing for 20% of men, that monogamy is uniformly better than the current “savage” promiscous SMV-based system. This sounds like a stretch. Monogamy is primarily for the benefit of the 80% of men. So even if we disregard the top 20% of men (because everyone loves to hate “the rich”), I doubt that monogamy (especially enforced or arranged monogamy) would be preferable to the top 80% of women who’d be stuck with inferior males, never having tasted the alpha cock. In the current system, at least they get to enjoy (during their slut phases) the 20% male, and they then get to choose (in their epiphany phase) whether to shakle up with an inferior man and suffer in silence when he lies on top of her and impregnates her with his inferior sperm (and/or cheat), or to remain single, forgoing their fertility but not suffering a beta’s touch.

Online dating/hook-up apps allow most (all?) women to order sex like pizza on demand, they may not get their top choice - but they will get “good enough” in their moment of heat. Or they wait an hour or two and get a top shelf guy.

Tinder/OLD has created new-age female harems, where women (including girlfriends and wives) can have unlimited access to sex any time they want. They will always have a small army of fwb’s waiting in the wings, and if that doesn’t work they can always fall back on their Beta husband/boyfriend. These apps and texts are hidden from her friends and Beta Bux bf/hubby, this allows her to act without fear of any blowback or shame.

The thing is - all these hook-up apps give post-wall women a second chance to ride the CC.

Or is it that the bottom 80% of men have become unattractive obese neckbeard unfuckables who the women are accurately rating as unattractive?

It would be interesting to see how average-looking guys who are in good physical shape do on Tinder. I'm guessing that guys who are coming out of military boot camps and common laborers and construction workers do pretty well.

Too many of these "woe is me" posts about how difficult the dating market is. It's a numbers game. Get out there, make approaches, interact with women, and learn from interactions that didn't go the way you wanted. Women have always chased after high SMV men. If you don't give that vibe online, then online dating will be difficult for you. So focus on other areas. Women aren't rationally assessing each quality of every man they meet. Yes, on average, men with high SMV will have more opportunities, but in individual situations there are plenty of opportunities for men with lower SMV. Give her the right feels in the right situation and you're in, and always work on improving your SMV.
