When I was 8 I read the first Xanth book: "A Spell for Chameleon." SPOILERS AHEAD Throughout the book Bink searches for his hidden magic power and the perfect woman. He meets and bangs several girls in this Children's book, and eventually narrows it down to 3 of them.

One was super hot and youngie who loved to fuck. Unfortunately she was dumb as a box of rocks and could not hold down a conversation- which wasn't a problem come to think of it.

The second was average intelligence and looks, and kind of, sort of, liked to fuck. She was a pleasant companion most of the time.

The third was an ugly harpy who never fucked and had a sharp, angry tongue- but she was brilliant and rescued Bink from life and death situation several times. Her ideas about where to go next on the quest basically drove the story.

Spoilers

So the secret is that the "3" girls were really just one woman changing along with her menstrual cycle (or changing with "the moon" as described in the book) because that happens to be her magical power (everybody in Xanth has some magical power).

Bink decided to accept all 3 women and marry the 1 because hey, why not, variety is good, right?

His "Spell for Chameleon" was to impregnate her when she is pretty, spend time with her when she is pleasant, and limit contact and go do his own thing when she is ugly.

I think he wrote this book as a metaphor but to me it looks like it might be your reality.

Laugh at her accusation. Or even better, amplify it. The more outlandish your comment the better because it puts a spotlight on the absurdity of her accusation. She is acting like a little girl. Treat her just like one. Since you are new, she will flip out. She is used to you walking on eggshells during her period and avoiding anything that will upset her.
