20s where I am is all about grafting, though I have met every kind of person under the spectrum of diligence: Impossibly ambitious, hardworking but lacking passion, and of course people who coast through life even in their 30s, no responsibility and no ambition.

You mentioned that your friends are high achievers, but it could also be that you have never associated with lazy young dudes! And there are many - barley scraping by in college, content playing xbox and smoking weed most of the day, living with parents and not pulling their weight in chores or finances.

Keep casting your line, and perhaps diversify where you meet women. OLD attracts a lot of low-effort people, you may have better luck mingling in social clubs, hobbyist groups and community service. All the best!

No honestly not from my opinion. The girls I’m friends with and hangout with the most are all very smart. Hard working, they usually have a job and still go to college. My guy friends are definitely slacking compared to them and that’s if I compare most of my guy friends to girl friends we are losing. I don’t blame it on laziness though the few girls that people from the outside would see as “lazy” are just a little depressed and need a lil help or time. It explains me being the same way and a few of my guy friends who I thought were lazy til I felt the same way about myself

I think a lot of men think exactly like you do. What we however fail to realize is that their "hobby" or what's interesting to them is building and maintaining relationships with their friends.

You might not go to a cafe often with your buds... because neither you nor them care enough about that stuff. If anything you have a couple of beers a Friday or sat evening.

Concerning money. Women care and also don't care about money the same way men do. Mainly because it does not increase their fitness value as much as it increases a man's. Have you ever dated a woman because she was rich? Exactly... However, plenty of women like dating wealthy men because wealthy men can spend money and create a fun life/dating. If you're poor it's decently difficult to have an utter blast at a date. You want to be able to go on small weekend trips, fly abroad often...

Imagine if you could do anything on a first date, it would be pretty expensive... Probably run you upwards of $1000-2000.

This is one of the reasons why I think the wage gap between men and women is always going to exist, simply because men increase their fitness value by having resources.

Short answer: maybe, but so is everybody.

First off, you're very productive for a 22 year old. Let that sink in. Not to be mean but you sound like you're making a brag paragraph. Most 20 somethings are NOT in college. Most just work normal jobs and live normal lives. There's nothing wrong with that too. Because i'm in college doing engineering most women I meet are disciplined and smart as hell, but you have to remember these are the top tier people in society. These people come from good families, have stable lives and were motivated to do these things. You probably came form the same background too, and if you didn't you probably have the drive from being so broke you had to do something with your situation, my point is that it requires some pretty specific conditions to do what you do.

As for the laziness, yeah most people are lazy not just 20 somethings too. My guy mates are lazy as shit. Look at the epidemic of incels, some of these guys are truly unfortunate but alot of these guys are just misguided men who need some direction and a few years of hard work. Most females are lazy too, same issue but with the luck that they're not social aggressors so they're usually offered things from men, meaning that don't have as much incentive as men to want to work hard. (in a general and dating sense).

tldr: yeah most people are lazy.

I guess women are less eager to take risks and go against the mainstream. They have much less struggle with finding a partner, society is kinda protective towards them. I think it stems from biological and psychological predispositions that were developed over the big years of our civilisation system, but it may change with the shift of climate and rules.

So I make a lot of money for my age (mid 6 figs and I'm 24) and run two businesses. I bust my ass to build a better future. I do help my current gf out and do tend to pay for things we do. But whats annoying is my current gf works part time, stresses out about that, then watches netflix and smokes weed a majority of the time. Will very rarely help me out with anything and when she does she does it super pissy. I'm considering breaking up and waiting till I'm 30-32 to find a woman whose mature.

There are plenty of people of both sexes that fit what you're describing, it's not uncommon.

A lot of people that age haven't had to be self-sufficient and have been subsidized by their families/student loans. It's easier than ever to coast to that age and life is more convenient/abundant than ever.

You seem to be more focused than most at an earlier age, and like attracts like. Life is generally cumulative, after 4 years of young adulthood the signs of differing trajectories (if they weren't apparent before) are now impossible to ignore. So it's not surprising you are seeing this contrast starkly, but it's not a new phenomenon.

Well, if youre around super high achieving guys that is going to mess up your ability to judge the situation. Almost everyone (male and female) is going to be significantly more lazy than you and your friends. Women are less conscientious than men on average, but they also perform better at work and school so its a tough question to answer.

With that said, statistics don’t lie - there are 6 women to 4 men that are earning college degrees, and that gap is growing every year.

Yes and see it all the time. Not sure where you are located but American women are super lazy but also have the highest standards while offering nothing to the table.

This is something I have noticed with the TikTok generation in particular: they consume all day, waste time mindlessly on social media, don’t have much to offer in a relationship, think thicc is in shape, have very few life goals if any, and have extremely high expectations for men they want but can’t find because those men are less than the 1% for their bracket.

So be careful when you date not to attract lazy women who will only be a detriment to your life and mission/goals. If you find someone who aligns with your mission, that’s great and definitely pursue it.

That’s my take from what I’ve noticed with multiple LTRs and dating around in the gen z pool

Depends on your circle. I work in tech and younger women are more accomplished than me. I'm more lucky than hard working

The stats on college is that enrollment and graduation is leaning towards women and decrease in men recent years especially since pandemic situation increasing the pay of blue collar work it's siphoned off men in academia.

Might be different kind of hard work.

Maybe switch up your scene. You might just be finding girls who just date around as their hobby

And they often remain the same, even at 30, party girls with no big goals. Just being bored and lazy whole day, and most of the time spending on social networks, photoshopping one picture for three hours cause they are so insecure.

it's unambiguous fact that women are exceeding men in education and qualifications. i don't think that's easy.

I am 22 years old, own a freelance business and my close friends are either master degree students, have upper level jobs or work in their family businesses.

when i was 22 i nearly died when i was thrown off the roof of a bar i was bouncing at and i slept on a friend's couch.

No vision, no goals, no interests that spark up their eyes when they talk about them. If they don't have lessons that day, they spend their day in bed till 2pm and then maaaaybe wake up and do something for an hour or two before they either go back to watch Netflix or go to a cafe with their friend.

this is very likely some form of mental illness which, yes, is running rampant in the younger generation.

What do you guys think?

I wouldn’t say modern women are lazy per se but most of the ones I met just kind of do whatever they want. They have no structure or plan for their life, very little ambition beyond going out and drinking. They don’t care about finding a man and don’t plan ahead for their financial future. The MOST they will do is go get a bachelors or masters but typically not in a high paying field. This is just what I observe.

I'd say most early 20 something year olds don't really have much direction in life beyond what's immediately on the horizon, male or female. At that age my only priority was to just finish school and figure the rest out once I did. Besides that it was gym, get drunk with the boys, and try getting laid.

Being a student was all I knew at the time. I did a very time consuming STEM degree so I didn't really have the time to just sit and think what I wanted for the future beyond getting a job and getting out of the broke student life.

Wasn't until I graduated and got into the real world where I actually started figuring out who I wanted to be and what I wanted to do.

If you asked me to judge whether you're ambitious and self-motivated based on my criteria, I would say no. I judge people based on the positive impact they have on society. So for me, I would consider a really good teacher or a really good paramedic a more accomplished person than someone richer or more educated. In other words, people can value very different things.

I don't think so. I think most mid-20s women do have standards far higher than their SMV, but I don't think it's because they are lazy. If anything, I think women today are probably the hardest working most ambitious women in the course of history. Look at the demographics of a college. Most of the girls in my dating pool as a mid 20s person seem to be in med school, grad school, or working a great job.
