With the way humans have treated mating/marriage the past several hundred/thousand years a 10 year age gap is nothing. Im in my early 30s and used to have an issue with a 5 year age gap. Now all I ever get is 18-23 and 35-50 year old women hitting on me. Women my own age just don't want to date me or if they do it bottoms out fairly quickly. I’m sure you’re infatuated, but in retrospect: this girl is hardly an adult, who recently got out of school in all likeliness. Probably knows nothing about making bill payments, probably doesn’t know what she wants in life, so on and so forth.

This would be an instance, in my opinion, to hang out, have fun, and hook up, but I would refrain from forming a serious relationship until she’s a little more grown and experienced in life.

You should be looking more towards the mid to late twenties range if you’re looking for a long term, suitable partner.

Just food for thought. The human brain, the prefrontal cortex, which is in control of our ability to make proper decisions and judgments, isn't fully developed until closer to age 26 or so.

She is legally an adult, but developmentally, still a kid.

She is immature in all senses, and is likely to make impulsive decisions. She is also lacking in the ability to make decisions that will affect her in the long term.

She is also in a completely different place in life. She has no life experience and can't draw on her experience in life to make the best decisions.

Between 21 and 27 are WILD when it comes to mental development, so I think as long as you go in it without the expectations that she would act like a 30 year old woman, it could work. I’ve seen plenty of age gap relationships work, although generally everyone is at minimum 24/25, but not always. There’s always exceptions! No harm in trying if she wants to.

In Texas, there are circumstances where a person can be considered a minor until 24. I had a friend that went to prison for 30 years because a 22 year old got mad after the fact. I do not remember the exact circumstances that this can happen any more.

I would check with an attorney if I thought the relationship was going anywhere.

What's the issue? Women mature faster than men and women generally seek older men, even if you think a 10 year gap isn't common in your area i'm sure a 1-5 year one is common place.

Women are also most fertile before the age of 30 while we men are fertile pretty much until we die, nature has made it this way and is why older men are still most attracted to younger women. A 60 year old man still wants the 20 something year old woman due to biology.

I say all that to say that a 10 year age gap is nothing strange and as a fellow man in his 30's i'm really not interested in women in their 30's.
