3 weeks ago a student from my school was randomly shot and killed. He was 19 years old. A few days ago, a student from another school passed away in a car crash. He was 21 years old. A few years ago, a student from my high school was also shot and killed. He was 17 years old.

These incidents were horribly morbid, heartbreaking, and drastically changed my worldview. Many of us in this sub, including myself, sit here and worry about girls. We worry about taking risks. We worry about what they text us. We worry about getting laid. We worry about them not being pretty enough. Most of all, we worry that we aren’t good enough.

All of this is extremely childish. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. Your life could end tomorrow. You’re really not going to approach someone or take a risk because you think someone might judge you? The worst that could happen is they say no. Even if you approach them, absolutely blow it, and they hate you, who cares? It doesn’t matter at all. Every time we flake on an opportunity because we are scared, we are disrespecting every single person who lost there life too soon and doesn’t have anymore opportunities. We are disrespecting ourselves.

Moral of the story: take the risk. Ask her out. Approach the girl. Start the business. Live a life you want to live. Tomorrow isn’t promised, and a countless number of people have had the opportunities that we have stripped away from them for no reason. Do not disrespect them by blowing your own opportunities.

Edit: I definitely fail to adhere to this advice all the time. I wrote this so myself and anyone else who needs it can come back and look at it whenever they need to shift their perspective on dating and life.
