Hold your nose and talk. If it sounds squidward like its because you are talking through your nose. If you talk through your chest you can hold your nose and barely tell a difference. Just practice talking through the back of your throat and chest rather than your nasal passage.

I had a singing teacher who explained that more relaxed vocal chords will produce a deeper tone of voice, which is why you have a deeper voice in the morning after a long sleep.

Maybe if you look online for singer warmups, specifically bass and baritone singers, you might find some techniques for relaxing your chords to help you hit those low tones with more power.

I've read that your natural pitch is the same as when you kind of him mmmm hmmm. Do that, then make an effort to talk like that. Also, try to inhale with you stomach and not your chest. Last but not least, practice and eventually it'll become normal.

I work as a tour guide. I talk a lot every day. Over the last few months, my family has noticed the tone of my voice has dropped significantly.

Here's what I've learned:

1) speak from your chest

Thus is A-number-one-most-important.

Touch your chest and find where your ribs separate below your sternum. Speak from there. Breathe deep, speak from there.

2) relax your throat

Pay attention to how your throat is feeling when you speak. Is it tight? Do you strain when you speak up? Practice letting your voice relax. You'll better identify this if you practice reading to yourself out loud. Try to project like you're talking in a classroom, pay attention to how your voice feels in your throat, and loosen up as you speak.

3) project. From your stomach. From your diaphragm.

Allow your speech to flow out naturally, but make sure you're not being lazy when you speak. Deliberately push from your diaphragm; this will help you speak from lower in your chest

4) practice speaking for at least a half hour at a time.

Take all of this together into sessions where you practice speaking deeper. Start by forcing yourself to speak for long periods of time, being mindful of the timbre of your voice. Relax, speak clearly and intentionally, and gradually watch as your voice opens up.

Increase the length of the sessions, take breaks, drink lots of water, and watch as you turn from Peewee Herman to a movie announcer!

I've found that talking with my voice relaxed has lead to having a deeper voice naturally. When I'm in a conversation with someone, my voice has a nice bass to it now, and really portrays my calm, cool persona. I've taken up 'singing' although I'm not that good and it seemed to help me to control my diaphragm and control my voice better. An exercise I saw is to put a few books on your stomach while you're lying down and breathe deeply so the books rise. This teaches you to use your diaphragm while you speak correctly. The pen in the mouth trick while reading helps too!

You cannot change your vocal chords on your own, but you can make it a little deeper if you breathe with your diaphragm, so that your stomach moves when you breathe instead of your chest. This is actually a technique that's used by musicians, and it makes your voice more powerful, and a little deeper.

I was looking on the interwebz for a solution to this problem maybe a year ago. Found an article that suggested saying "ding dong" then "hong kong" then "king Kong" each time holding the syllables (and making them deeper) in your vocal chords for a good while, taking your time. Doing this exercise supposedly helps to stretch your vocal chords and in effect produce a deeper voice.

I seem to remember reading on reddit a while ago that you perceive your own voice to be deeper than it actually is, due to the sound vibrations through your skull. Which is why you might think that your voice sounds weird when you hear a recording of yourself. Worth keeping in mind if you are aiming to trying to hit a certain 'tone'

You remember that scene in Wolf of Wall Street with dicaprio and Mathew (i cant fucken spell his last name) banging their chest and humming? Apparently thats something Matthew actually does before a scene to make his voice more relaxed. Ive tried it a bit and it does sorta seem to help. Maybe just need some more practice, and obviously its kinds weird to do that in public.

When you yawn your voice is deep and strong. Try to fake yawn and sustain while aiming for lower notes. Don't push it, just stabilize the sound, you'll feel warming up and relaxation of your throat (also a stronger voice because relaxation allow for sound resonating thus natural amplification).

Ok so it's a really bad reason to do it, but steroids like testosterone will deepen your voice. It's also normally highly illegal depending on where you live.
