This sentence came to me yesterday in a mini-revelation. In essence, take whatever scares you and get right back in its face relentlessly. In every instance in life where I've applied this, it works. For example, I used to be scared to death of heights, so I started going on every rollercoaster I had the opportunity to. Fucking loved every second.

Apply this in every part of life you can think to.

  • scared of failure when you're starting a new exercise program? Scare that failure back. Give it an unreal, determined effort. You know you can be scary good when you mean it; failure should be afraid of you.

  • scared of talking to that cute girl at the book store? Scare that fear back. You won't believe what a cool and collected man you can be when that nervousness is afraid of what you can do instead.

  • scared of those douchey Nth-degree Alpha males choding around with backwards hats and tight shirts near the entrance to the bar? Scare them back. Make them break eye contact with you. Other dudes will be in awe of your composure when they know that any urge you have inside to back down is frightened to death of you.

  • scared of that grizzly bear roaring at you from 20 feet away? Scare that fucking bear back. Grit your teeth and roar like the grim death approaching will be your last and most triumphant moment on this planet.

Obviously most of this is psychological. Fucking do it anyways. There is nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, that can scare you that shouldn't be 100x more afraid of you.
