In my humble opinion, inner game is something that you can't get by watching a video, reading an article, or attending a conference. It's something you get by doing stuff and getting real life experiences.
[–]2nd_class_citizen 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is the key. Inner game stuff is only useful when it's INTERNALIZED, not when you have to actively think about it. However, the only way it gets internalized is through action. And sometimes, you need some 'shallow' outer game stuff to get yourself to act.
[–]UnapologeticalyAlive 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Actually, I should add a caveat to that statement. You can't get inner game just by doing stuff. There are a few basic principles that you have to internalize. For example, you have to be able to recognize what you can and cannot control, and stop worrying about things you can't control. That's a concept that you can learn initially from a video or a conference, but you have to think about it every day to internalize it. There are a lot of concepts like that. If you throw too much at someone all at once, it starts to be too much to think about on a daily basis, and the person loses their mind. You have to slowly build it up by having life experiences and applying concepts you learn to them.

Exactly, and all these different methods are ways of how (usually the author) worked his way up. Often you can relate to those people (like insecure(nerdish?) people to Tyler) and turn it into motivation and gradually rising confidence. There is no sure way of getting there and the only thing in common with all these methods is to go out there and do it. It's all a mind game anyway (confidence, included)
[–][deleted] 14 points15 points16 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I'm not going to defend RSD nor am I associated with them but a lot of the newer free tour videos were quite on point. Tyler is big on overall self improvement - he heavily advocates meditation, eating a healthy diet, and reading. But for anyone new to pickup, he might not realize why doing these things are relevant to getting lays.
I think Blueprint is quite comprehensive, but it was sort of raw. To guys that grew up being very reactive and beta, its a great eye opener. Otherwise, most normal guys can just stick to routines like you said and prevent getting into all the spiritual analysis paralysis.
[–]puaCurveBall 52 points53 points54 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I think most of this is more due to you being 18 and nerdy than due to RSD.
Thank you for sharing your experience though, I think it can be enlightening for anyone thinking about getting into pickup.
I think the underlying message is GO OUT AND APPROACH!!! Your biggest issue here is sitting around reading a bunch of material rather than using it out in the field, I think most if not all of the issues you bring up would work themselves out by being out and social. Going out is a feedback loop, without trying stuff you are reading in field, you are missing the feedback loop and can spiral out of reality like you did
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Your biggest issue here is sitting around reading a bunch of material rather than using it out in the field. . .
I totally agree with this statement. I felt so insecure when I was reading about a bunch of stuff online when I lived in a small town where I taught and had no ability to hit on anyone because the only girls in town were either parents of a gazillion students or my students. You have to have a way to practice all of this, otherwise it makes you very insecure because you compare yourself to people who are getting better and better.
[–]extr3mest 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Love the blatant honesty, and as always the go out and approach advice makes a world of difference. I know personally a lot of the content confused me until I started going out.
[–]extr3mest 9 points10 points11 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
RSD fanboi here downvote me all you want, but rsd+seddit helped me a tonnnnn. RSD in paticular helped me a lot, but maybe its because I align with their viewpoints on a lot of things, and personally enjoy the self help aspects much more so then the outergame aspects. In my opinion if you have strong enough innergame then your outergame is just the cherry on top anyway since you should already be successful.
In all honesty though its just different styles for different people. I will continue to support rsd because they have helped me a lot, but can see how maybe they don't work for everyone and that is fine. This is why there is more then just rsd out there.

I think the contradiction resolves itself when you identify the difference between interest and need. You can show interest in a girl by talking, flirting, kino, etc without showing that you need her interest back to feel good about yourself.
[–]rmbarnes 6 points7 points8 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I'm certainly not and RSD fan boy. I think there stuff is good for intermediates who do already get laid a little and are comfortable with woman and who go to clubs and want to get faster and more regular pulls.
Giving their stuff to noobs with few social skills is like giving a little kid dynamite. Shit's going to get messy. One of my wings is a 20 year old virgin, with not great social skills. He needs to learn how to have normal conversations with girls, but he's all RSD'd up so he's trying to eye fuck them and grab them as soon as he see's them. Because he doesn't have enough experience with women he doesn't realise how off his non verbals are, so he comes across as freaky.
All in all the material isn't bad, but it really depends who you are, 'where' you are and how you use. OP is the wrong person in the wrong place and using it wrong.
[–]Mercurycandie 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
What would you say IS better for getting the fundamentals down before moving on to the intermediate/advanced stuff RSD pushes? I personally would really like to know, I feel like those foundations are the one thing I'm missing.
[–]dkismet 6 points7 points8 points 13 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Everything you will learn from PUA companies are maps. They are paradigms, designed to guide you in your journey. There are a million paradoxes, as there is no one way to pickup chicks, when every chick is different. Hyper-analysis of any method will likely lead to confusion, or to a plateau in skills.
You probably don't have the personal references experiences to relate to RSD type of materials. Their material is often philosophical in nature and incredibly paradoxical from instructor to instructor. As in all self-help, it is recommended that you take what resonates with you, and you leave all else behind. If you don't understand, then leave it behind.
When you have an egoless experience, and you can relate to what that means, perhaps you will understand more of what they are saying. If not, of course it's going to be confusing, and can lead to paranoia when you take it as an inconceivable truth that you must understand or you will fail at life. That's silly. All 'knowledge' in this area is not fact, but opinion.
Everyone should seek their own experiences with rsd and any other company. As multiple resources can really bring together the 'big picture'. It all comes down to being able to relate, the way you learn, and your personal goals.
RSD has personally revolutionized my life over the last 3 years, and I havn't given the a dime. I'm sorry your experience wasn't what you wanted. If you can't read the map, then find something easier to read. Even then you still need to get out there and experience the territory for yourself. Experience is king.

I never really liked RSD. They opened my eyes for game with Tyler's book and The Blueprint Decoded but when I was watching it, I just felt like a guy talked for 3 hours and I had learned nothing about picking up women. I then changed to heartiste blog and nowadays I mostly read heartiste and seddit material, and I feel like it's more than suffice for what I want to accomplish.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link
RSD (specifically Tyler) is really good for people who are already good with women. For noobs, it's pretty useless because their fundamental principles only apply if you don't live in scarcity. Consequently, I've met Tyler in person and talked to him for a bit, and I have no doubt that he could help just about anyone crush puss, but that's not what the company itself is really for.
[–]Mercurycandie 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link
What would you say is good when living in scarcity? I completely agree with you (have only seen RSD) and am looking for what else is out there.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link
Nothing really. Given women's growing disdain for being approached on the street, the classic "go do 1000000 approaches and come back" is kind of garbage advice unless you're at a club/bar. The difference between people of high value and people of low value is....value, lol. Work out, get a hot body, get a good job, go out, make friends, meet girls, get an interesting hobby. Most of all, look good though. Cutting the bullshit, 90% of the game is looks
[–]Canei 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
You overestimate the effect of the community. If you approach a woman ably, she will not distain it. It will make her day.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
Don't you mean I've underestimated it??
Day-Game is great, if you're Brad Pitt.
[–]Canei 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
No, I mean you've overestimated it. Though I can't even imagine how great day game must be for Brad Pitt, you and I can still swing it with confidence and congruence.
Women will always like being approached by men with value. Yes, women know about the community now but
A) our concept of how much they know is skewed because we're constantly talking and thinking about it.
B) Guys have always approached. The number of day game spitters caused by this community alone is not so much as to shift the paradigm of when you can approach, or to render day game obsolete. That notion is ridiculous. Should we stop meeting women at clubs too? There are far more PUAs gaming at clubs.
Also, I can't tell if you're trolling with the looks thing, but if your game is tight, looks don't matter for shit. I am not ugly, but I get results that would be impossible just based on your 90% theory.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago* (9 children) | Copy Link
Women will always like being approached by men with value
Exactly. A noob who is truly starting from nothing has no value.
A) our concept of how much they know is skewed because we're constantly talking and thinking about it. B) Guys have always approached. The number of day game spitters caused by this community alone is not so much as to shift the paradigm of when you can approach, or to render day game obsolete. That notion is ridiculous. I don't mean in relation to PUA's doing this. I just mean, generally, in north america, social culture seems to be shifting away from meeting people during the day, and compared to other options, day game looks like an up-hill battle.
...I have to call you on this. This isn't even remotely true. Looks are the driving force behind all human sexuality. If this were true, this community wouldn't exist. A person will always end up with another person of equal social value (looks, money, status). Always.
I actually have a theory that women care about looks to several times the degree men do and that women actually only like two'ish archetypes of men, and if you're not one of them, you're basically fucked. Where as, in comparison, though men value looks as well, men have many archetypes that can vary greatly.
I also have a best friend since gr7 friend who's life took a 180 after losing about 150lbs, by consequence of a job he was forced to take. He's now so popular, I see him maybe ounce every 3 months and he is never without a girlfriend or love interest. He is still the same highly beta person he was before, although he's gotten much better at socializing normally from being around high value people constantly.
However, I would love to hear your opinions on how you believe this to be incorrect
[–]extr3mest 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
A generally held consensus I've seen from my group of friends is looks will give you a certain baseline that will make it hard for you to drop below no matter how socially incompetent you are. That does not mean you cannot overcome your lack of looks though (to a certain extent).
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Female friends or male friends?
[–]Canei 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Social culture shifting has no bearing on my actions. Day game works just as well in my experience, but not the same way. There's a drastically lower chance of kissing a girl right then and there, but also a drastically lower rate of flaking.
You said 90% was looks specifically, not social value or other factors. Even so, your view on this seems pretty absolutist to me. Yes, looks, money, and status are important, but status and to a degree money and looks (a.k.a. grooming) come from social ability. I posit that a broke ugly dude with a few cool friends can get a hottie easily with tight enough game.
Your theory is intriguing. Out of curiosity, what are the archetypes?
Ok, I conceded this point to you.
You said 90% was looks specifically, not social value or other factors. Even so, your view on this seems pretty absolutist to me. Yes, looks, money, and status are important, but status and to a degree money and looks (a.k.a. grooming) come from social ability.
Maybe not 90% exactly. I use the number for dramatic effect; I can't quantify something like that, but, I'd be very comfortable positing that women use physical appearance to, at least an equal or greater degree than men during the mating process.
I posit that a broke ugly dude with a few cool friends can get a hottie easily with tight enough game.
These are already some crippling qualifiers. If you're a broke, ugly, you're gonna have a hell of a hard time finding people of value to validate your broke, ugly, low value self, let alone a woman of quality.
I would also add that the journey for a broke, ugly, dude with few friends and little value is probably going to be so rough, and such an uphill battle, most people will either not believe it's possible in the first place, achieve tremendous success from pure will power, or quit (and possibly end up in therapy all their life, suicide, dark-side shit etc)
I find that women are only really attracted to two types of men:
or
As per my life experience, if you don't fall into one of these two archetypes, you're gonna have a bad time.

A person will always end up with another person of equal social value
Not true. My last ex I got with when I was overweight, unemployed for 2 years, sleeping on my brother's couch, and really had nothing going for me. She had a good job, and looked good as well. She fell for me hard. This was before I ever started looking into PUA stuff. Anecdotal evidence may not count for much, but there's a lot of evidence out there that shows that looks aren't all you make them out to be.
Anecdotal is still interesting.
I find that usually when this kind of thing happens, it is because the person is such a unique individual in terms of the way he speaks or thinks, and is not representative of what most people can achieve; even those who employ the methods from the community. Regardless of your situation, she probably would have been attracted anyway.
I suppose it requires some self analysis, which is going to be slightly bias, but, would you agree?/disagree?

Owen and Julien are the only dating coaches I trust. Your experience with them was based on their paid products, right? In my opinion, their paid products suck. I like their freetour videos way better. I haven't found another company/instructor that I relate to the way I do those guys. The infield footage is realistic, the things they say and do are achievable. Love systems has some great products, but they seem so robotic and machine like. Its hard to relate to their instructors and believe they are even good with women.
[–]AhhhSharkBoy 3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Blueprint and most of the free content RSD put out assumes you've already watched Foundations. Owen even tells people to bit torrent it.

Why are you still not big on RSD? Also I've heard MM get a lot of flak, why do you like it? Also I don't know much about Venusian Arts, but I've heard that Matador is BS and some that have seen him infield saw him do terribly.
What are your thoughts?
I ask as a beginner that has primarily been listening to RSD (and yeah it's definitely pretty confusing) but is just trying to learn. I'm not personally invested in RSD, if you throw ideas out there then I am definitely interested
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree, RSD is confusing. They're very good at getting you excited, but then leaving you feeling like you're just missing that one crucial part that will make everything fall into place.
I think the field reports part of their forum is good, though. Lots of people posting straight up reports of what they're doing, what works and what doesn't, and you can get a feel for what the progress curve looks like. Just don't get stuck living vicariously through other people's FRs.
[–]uberafc 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Isn't RSD mostly advanced level shit or more inner game stuff anyway? Also I always thought it was recommended to start with Foundations, then Transformations and then finally blueprint decoded.
Anyone who has actually seen them want to chime in since I have not seen any of those. Thanks.
[–]dkismet 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
true, Foundations is social basics. don't over-compliment, don't act needy, don't exchange drinks/food for time, etc.
transformations is meant to inspire. you get the background stories of the instructors going from AFC to PUA. with a wide variety of stories it's likely you can relate to one more than others.
blueprint is a philosophy. It's designed for people who like to overthink everything, and teach them how to turn there thoughts into actions and eventually combine the two into conscious action. It's for intellectuals, not the typical adrenaline junkie. If one does not percieve the world through philosophy, they will likely not be able to relate. All these intense principals are summed up as "Have fun and dont give a shit what other people think of you". The teaching is a breakdown of that, down to the understanding of consciousness and being. It's deep shit. A miracle for some, and utter confusion for others.

Your problem is that you FRIED your brain by CONTINUING to consume and consume and consume more and more theory. What tyler means by "The blueprint will hit you on a new level each time you watch it" He means it, he means if you watch it A YEAR FROM NOW you'll learn something new.
For example, first time I watched it I was actually a lot younger than you, about 16 years old. It fried my brain but I Was also going out at least 3 nights a week and it really helped me
I was going out for about 6 months until I got my first real kiss close, and that was after I watched the bit from ozzy from transformations about closing, and LO AND BEHOLD I closed THAT DAY.
Real Social Dynamics is for, more than anything GUYS WHO HAVE BEEN GOING OUT FOR A LONG TIME.

Love Systems Instructor Here - I'm biased.
First, I'm surprised by the downvotes, this is news and relevant, even if you disagree with it.
Second, although I'm obviously not impartial, the fact is, RSD does a lot of putting down their students, and lowering their self-esteem, while pretending to teach them. They also make their stuff confusing. This is a common cult/influence tactic. Tell people how bad they are, how you can help them, but then make it really hard for them to understand the help you are pretending to give them. The result: you control them. Look at pretty much every religion out there.
RSD has some good advice, but it's packaged with some really bad stuff alongside it. Confident guys can separate out the good from the bad, but vulnerable/suggestible guys often can't.
This appears to be completely deliberate.
Downvote this all you want, but it's true. Their instructors also seem to have a terrible attitude towards women.
Fyi, I have absolutely no association with the OP.
[–]WyvernPUA 14 points15 points16 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
while pretending to teach them.
The word "pretend" is pretty out of line here. They put out tons of free content let alone stuff you pay for. The word "pretend" insinuates that they are scammers and this isn't true. I know multiple people, including myself, who have gained a fortune of knowledge from their instructors.
They also make their stuff confusing. This is a common cult/influence tactic.
Pick up is not always cut and dry. It's not a perfectly, clean linear answer every time. There are principles I follow that I WOULD NOT be able to explain to a newbie. Not because I am some sort of cultist, but instead because the logic of a person who is talented with women and a person who is extremely poor with women are completely different. There is some shit that is just too far out of a newbie's paradigm of reality. Some other stuff of there's is actually quite straight forward, too.
You make it sound as if they are brainwashing people, when in reality it is YOU who are making false accusations because you want to sway people away from one of your competitors.
[–]Tenmagnet2 points 13 years ago* [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link
I have stated my biases. I am simply stating things as I see them. People can decide for themselves.
[–]WyvernPUA 6 points7 points8 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I don't know shit about love systems. I suppose that makes me biased against it. If I were to see a minimal amount of content, and see something I may not understand, I would NEVER make uninformed accusations of such a high magnitude. Exclaiming that your program is ran by SCAMMERS and that you are using CULT TACTICS is simply and utterly ridiculous.
Downvote this all you want, but it's true.
You say it's TRUE that an established company, with many adamant followers who are 100% sure they have gained useful knowledge just as they say, are SCAMMERS who use CULT TACTICS to MANIPULATE other people. The only manipulation I see going on is an uninformed pick up instructor making bold, uninformed accusations that feed on the limiting beliefs of the people who are in the same market as the company you're slandering.
[–]amyers 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
One thing I dislike, every time I read your blog is the tagline ” I'm a dating coach, not an internet marketer”. The fact is, anybody who markets products on the internet is an internet marketer. You collect leads, you follow up, you sell. There's nothing wrong with it, but its annoying that you deny it... Like if you say its not true we have some sort of big ah-ha moment like ”Wow, this guy is different!” I think its a much better approach to be transparent and let it be known that you do sell shit online, you collect emails and try to convert them to buyers. Love systems had a lot of, marketing behind it and you obviously have a financial interest in the success of the company, so why would you say you're not an internet marketer, just curious? No disrespect intended. It just feels like you're taking your readers as fools. Which is why its hard to trust you're opinion of RSD.
I don't really have any respect for your company, I think Mystery is a Psychopath, but I don't really think a guy that would steal a company FROM A GUY THAT STOLE A COMPANY FROM THE GUY IT WAS NAMED AFTER. Would hire good people/reputable instructors.
Personally speaking, I find that YOU NEED to beat yourself up sometimes.
Also, I've seen most of RSD's stuff, and probably the worst thing they say, and it's been pretty recent is that "You probably suck at game or you're a nerd" Why? Because it takes down their ego, it keeps them from calling themselves "Pick Up artists"(Fastest way to become a fucking asshole who repels women is to take a nerd and have himself calling himself a pickup artist"
Not only that but when they talk about themselves they oftentimes PUT DOWN themselves because they were awful people/complete assholes (Jlaix for example).
Every newbie needs BRUTAL advice, Mystery used to always say "If you cannot attract a woman you are by definition, sterile"- Like the fuck is that?
I get the other companies hate on RSD, and call them a cult and shit and I actually kind of understood that, because guys would get sucked into their blueprint theory as absolute truth and just believe everything tyler says, but I feel like they've never INTENDED for that, they've moslyt intended for guys to make up their own damn minds and wake the fuck up and look at the world through their own eyes and see it for what it is.
I'm actually surprised at your lack of professionalism considering you're an Instructor and you're calling your competition a cult.
[–]TofuTofu 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That is interesting and something I've thought about before. For a long time my go-to advice for people really looking to improve was to "listen to The Blueprint Decoded in pieces while you go out looking for breakthroughs until it's all internalized."
It certainly worked for everyone I know who actually did that, but I get the feeling that most guys will not put the effort in on their own to actually ever internalize the valuable concepts from the material. That's a major reason why it gets a bad wrap as having very little actionable advice (which is obviously one of Love System's strong suits).
Can you expand on this problem a bit? Just like you, I want to help guys get as good with women as they can... How do you help someone who doesn't go out enough to really learn this stuff?

I've been looking into A LOT of RSD stuff lately and while I'm not a fan of Love Systems either, RSD is incredibly hit or miss. I'd say in a 30 minute video, there's about 5 - 10 minutes of actually useful information. I remember coming across a 20 page pdf called The RSD Tactical manual and that basically sums up all of the useful information you'll get out of them. The rest is on constant repeat with very little new content.
RSD is good but definitely not the best. They're great for a beginner cause it's easy to understand:
Open - Hook - Comfort- Close
as opposed to
Open - F2M attraction - M2F Attraction - Conversation - Connection - Intimacy - Foreplay - LMR - Close
Or Love System's structure which is just a bit longer.
Still I suggest: Learn from everyone, keep what's useful, trash what isn't.

I watched the Blueprint and didn't understand it AT ALL. Tyler promised that you would get more and more out of it every time you watched. So there was a period of time in my life that I watched it multiple times every day and ALL I got out of it was SELF CONSCIOUSNESS. I was now in a period of my life where I was the MOST ANXIOUS EVER. Not even as a nerdy 13 year old I was this anxious and insecure. Literally, I was second guessing myself in ALL social interactions, even with close friends. My friends asked me what I had done, why I was so "weird". I was completely unable to make new friends and my social skills went to shit. I cannot put the finger on EXACTLY what it was, but it was this kind of weird feeling of not "knowing it all yet", so I could NOT give myself permission to be confident, to be the guy I knew I was capable of, it was like I was hooked into RSD's teachings in a never ending search for the "golden knowledge".
I was about to make a post in AskSeddit about the same thing!!! Ever since I "discovered' PUA, I have been stressing and over analyzing every single detail of every single social interaction that I have. I am always looking for IOIS and reactions from the girl and after I am done talking to them, I beat myself up because I said something wrong or acted shy or something.
I also carefully plan whatever I say to a girl, I used to just say whatever naturally, now I can definitely feel that I am trying way too hard during conversations, almost to the point that I am robotic. It's really fucking with me.

There is a difference between analyzing, critiquing yourself, learning from it then moving on and over thinking it to the point of self deprecation. I'm by no means a PUA, but I have watched hours and hours of DYD, RSD, etc etc. If you have true confidence in who you are, then, really, you don't need any of the PUA stuff. It won't hurt, mind you, but you don't need it if you have absolute confidence.
edit I just qualified myself. And I should feel bad.

I have often read that you shouldn't get into game until you are out of college or in your early 20s. I guess this is one of the reasons?
Judging by 90% of the RSD user base, and watching Tyler "transform" over the years... it's just creepy / weird now.
[–]freedom54 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Honestly I like a lot of their stuff. They often warn if you don't go out enough theres too much information for you to grasp.
It took me a good while to get good at socializing. It was late high school and early college that I developed a skill to talk to almost anyone.
Then I started cold approaching at clubs (which was insanely hard at first, but got much easier). Only then did the ideas really give me major success. Earlier I had tried the ideas and really didn't like most of them. If I was normally socializing with friends, I wouldn't use most of these.
Their material is REALLY good for cold approaching, not so much social circle or girls in your classes. I remember watching their foundations program and having that help me a lot in the beginning
[–]DeeMore 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Cold approach can really suck balls at first like you said. The chode brain dying is a hell of an experience. After time though it deffinitely does get quite a bit easier.
I'm about where your at. After several years of college I am getting the type of girls I like. Not stunners but not fat ugos either. And almost important to me is that I am CHOOSING my friends. I am not at the whim of whoever I end up meeting somewhere or whatever. I choose cool people who stimulate and challenge me and chill with them.
RSD is really to thank for most of this. If I didn't have some guidance in this whole transformation I could have just gotten weirder or made half the progress and still be lame. Not quite sure why this thread is so popular I think there stuff is pretty good

I watched a lot of Blueprint Decoded. I kept wondering when he was going to get to the point. I finally got bored and gave up.
[–]archaicfrost 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
This is happening to me right now. I'm a couple hours in thinking "so... he's just saying be yourself and be confident in who you are?" which is fine and good, and makes total sense, but wouldn't have if I had watched this a year ago before I started approaching or trying some of the stupid, contrived PUA stuff.
Maybe I'll watch a little here and there to see if it gets any better, but so far I am not impressed.
[–]caulking 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
To be fair, he does say that it's an advanced product.
It started out with him describing the concept of state, and saying how sometimes he would go out and women would treat him like a sex god, and sometimes he would go out and women would treat him like a creep. I was like "Yes! I have experienced this also! This product will surely fix this huge problem in my game."
Five hours and lots of mental masturbation later... nope.
Unless the good part comes right at the end or something and I gave up too soon.
Is Transformations any good?
I'm guessing some day you'll appreciate RSD. Personally, Tyler is my favorite instructor out there.
The problem is accessibility. Outer game strategies like openers and congruence tests are tangible concepts for beginners to latch onto, and important to know as well, but there is something more important out there to know. Self confidence. When you have it, I mean when you really have it, the rest becomes unnecessary. RSD puts you on the right path, but the trickier path too.
When my 3 year relationship ended and I got back into the game, I was shocked that Tyler wasn't regarded as a piece of shit by the community. I still thought of him as the manipulative social-robot megadoosh from "The Game" but seddit told me to give him a chance so I did.
I was floored. Every single thing said in the blueprint resonated with me as profound truth. It struck me as the direction the community was destined to head. Admittedly, I've seen it get in people's heads and mess them up. I've seen that with many a source of PUA material. I can't speak to the other instructors, but Owen Cook fucking gets it. Like, the big IT.
Wait a few years and give it another go, for your sake. I don't work for RSD, so torrent it for all I care, just come back to it in a few years. It sounds like you got more in your head from RSD. That's the opposite of the point.
Concepts like egolessness, presence, state, self love, not giving a fuck, these things are absolutely KEY. Not just in game, in life. Tony Robbins preaches the same stuff. It's the way to transcend the ranks of the ordinary, but not everyone is ready for it.
Also, it's a lot to take in. You shouldn't feel bad. I certainly wouldn't have understood it at 18. And I'm not taking away from 18 year olds. I bet we could have a blast hanging out and you could teach me tons about ton, but 10 years of life experience are significant.
For me anyway, after learning the fundamentals of outer game, Blueprint Decoded is the last material I'll ever need. I hang around seddit still because I love learning about this stuff, but when I really need to remember the important things...RSD
NOTE: I'm not saying in any way that I support Tyler's pronunciation of the words been or resource. I'm also not entirely sure he knows who Jay Cutler is.
[–]DrTwitch 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Part of the problem is you did it to yourself. I am pretty sure very few people can be left alone, completely unsupervised, and learn something from abstract material.
There are some good things in RSD materials. But it's like they went "this is where we are now, how we see things" and they talk about it. But they don't provide much information on how to get there. We can't just skip over the work, and the accumulation of experience and absorb those world views. There is no shortcut. If you're a little inexperienced then a learning plan and a sort of structure for approaching is a great thing.
You can't just watch a philosophy vid and go out and crush it.

RSD: 90% fluff talk, 10% actual content. and from that actual content, 70% is harmful advice.
btw: they "hire" people to work for zero dollars; they will trick you into unadvertently signing for recurring monthly payment;, and customer service only responds if its about new money: they won't respond if its about refunds or schedule issues.
to summarize: RSD is not trustworthy.
[–]Snake0987654321 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Fun fact: They don't allow people talking about other theories/coaches because when the game came out people would bash the instructors and talk shit about them and say how their game sucks.
I agree. Did not like rsd at all. I was 18 as well though. Overrated stuff I know what you mean by confusion. Most natural "game" is not a game and instead is just you being the most animated about being yourself and loving life. And as long as there are girls to see it... Awesome.
I have yet to consume anything from RSD other than the Free Tour videos. Since reading Double Your Dating about 7 years ago I haven't really done much pickup (got into a LTR - big mistake) and I'm only now getting back into it after having read The Game. I've been in the research phase for about a week. I find the Free Tour videos to be awesome. There IS a paradoxical relationship between Inner Game and how it appears to others, and Tyler makes reference to it; you have to try hard but not look like you're trying hard. You have to do the right things but not give a shit - all of that must be interalized.
And that's what you're missing. You're trying to change your personality in front of your friends. Friends are poison when you're working on your Inner Game. They'll insult you and resent your trying to improve yourself. What you need to do is go out and practice: sarging is always the answer. I know this and I haven't even done it yet.
They'll insult you and resent your trying to improve yourself.
I think you need to find some better friends.

Lol you sucked shit because you didn't apply anything you learned. The number one thing they teach is that field experience is king, and you did nothing. Try to approach and you will understand why inner game is king.
[–]Michael_Cassio 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Inner game is completely useless without outer game. Learn to ride the bike first before you try to generate confidence in riding the bike.
Inner game comes through experience but isn't necessary to get it.
[–]dantaeos 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Insanity. You will fail incredibly hard in the field without some form of confidence and of course that can be built by constantly approaching, but you need inner game simply to approach. You need to overcome the fear, you need to have the motivation, so it all boils down to inner game.
[–]Michael_Cassio 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You can fake it till you make it. But if you don't have any outer game, infinite confidence is useless.
[–]AVDIOCASANOVA 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Haha I would chose to have infinite confidence over game any day.
[–]Michael_Cassio 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Haha I didn't say there was anything wrong with infinite confidence. I mean being able to do whatever I want without fear would be nice. It'd just suck dying without getting any women.
