So what do we do in response to this?

Lower the price for guys and more will come. Then itll be a sausage fest and it will stop being enjoyable. Guys dont want to go to a party of guys. Raise the price for girls and theyll go elsewhere and the guys will follow.

People frequent these places expecting to have a chance with the opposite sex. If the quantites of guys and girls isnt similar it loses its value and people will go elsewhere.

This is supply and demand. There are more guys that want to be at the bars than women so the price must be higher for guys to stop the guys from flooding the place, which would end in the guys not wanting to be there anymore.

If you dont want this sexism then you dont want successful bars/parties/etc.

Where I go to college, partys are $5 for guys and free for girls, but I'm okay with this because its 60-40 guys where I go, and if you want girls at the party, well.....

When it comes to alcohol, this is normal. Bars with a cover charge will waive it for women so that men spend more money paying for their drinks. Nude pools in Vegas do it too. I know the Rio's charges $40 for men and $0 for women.

uhh...isn't everyone missing the fact that men can physically drink more than women? this may be sexism, but its only just. we don't need to get all riled up because of it, especially when taking into account that most players who are men will drink more beer than the female players.

It sure is, but not in the way that you think. See, male party culture is largely centered around getting women drunk and having sex with them. As such, bars and clubs, operating under free markets, offer women economic incentives to attend. This is not discrimination against men. Men who attend these kinds of places are willing to pay an insignificant premium to attract more drunk women, which is why these policies and procedures still exist everywhere. If you don't like it, don't go there. There are plenty of drinking establishments full of dudes bitter about women. They're called dive bars. The practical consequences of these policies on women is that many more are raped or engage in unsafe sex than they would have otherwise. The practical consequences for men is that sometimes at certain places on certain days you have to pay $10 more to be around a bunch of chicks who would never fuck you sober.

This actually seems like a pretty elegant solution to a very common problem. Co-ed softball tournament teams usually require >=5 females and require the pitcher to be female, but sometimes it's really hard to find enough girls who want to play. Instead of making those teams forfeit, we could just make them pay a higher entry fee.

I don't know if this has already been said, but it's really just a marketing thing. That's why girls get into clubs for free. A lot of club managers require a certain ratio of guys to girls, and this is one way to accomplish that. I wouldn't call this sexism, but rather a way of controlling the gender balance in the establishment.
