I have a feeling that the first time many are hearing about MRM/MRA is when they are accused of being one due to support of #GamerGate, so it has at least raised awareness.

I didn't even know GG was still a thing until just a few days ago when I caught a glimpse of /r/KotakuInAction through the wall of censorship in /r/games and /r/gaming.

There is a massive amount of information and evidence gathered now.

We should be helping GamerGate with its campaign, because it's our fight too. I've been sending emails to advertisers.

Several companies have already dropped their support for Gawker and other anti-male-gamer publications. It's an effective tactic.

I think we need to go on the offensive instead of repelling attacks all the time. Where are our rabble-rousers and social critics pushing for change in female entertainment to accommodate for the male? Some of us need to penetrate into the so-called "Chick flick" and similar and challenge the way they're made. The way things have been going has been very dysfunctional. It's akin to a Pearl Harbor where the attack was defeated, but we never brought the battle over to them.

I have a few thoughts on this.

Membership numbers on this sub don't seem to be jumping a ton. Maybe people are being exposed to it, but they aren't subscribing. :/

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to take advantage of division between feminists. The ones that will come to the table and we can actually agree with on a lot of issues are pro-GG and at odds with the SJW crowd. Talk to them. Support them. Fight alongside them. Forge a rapport. Have a civil debate. Come out more knowledgeable and well-rounded. Seriously--- this is that point in the movie where the protagonist/minor antagonist are beating the shit out of each other, when the real antagonist rears its head, and the protagonist and minor antagonist stop fighting, give each other a subtle nod, and then start fighting, back to back. Don't let this slip away.

I don't know if this is true. It's probably changed the opinion some gamers had of feminism in a negative way. I don't know that it follows that those same gamers would be naturally lead to the MRM.

That being said, the catalyst for my interest in the MRM was Rebecca Watson and ElevatorGate.

No offence, but MRM has nothing to do with GamerGate. Some people in each circle might overlap, but there's nothing to do with Men's Rights in GamerGate. Ethics in gaming journalism and lack of censorship regarding discussion are the core values being fought for in GamerGate, and I fail to see where men's rights falls into that ANYWHERE.

This is not a recruitment drive for you lot, and it is not for you to prey on us as we deal with nutsos who call themselves feminists as a shield for bad behaviour. There is nothing antifeminist about GG, and it has nothing to do with us save for the Kafkatrapping we're dealing with. Please don't cross the streams.

Sorry, they recently re-branded the movement as "something-something journalism ethics". They claim it has nothing to do with opposing feminism influence in video games, so you probably won't find any allies there anymore.

don't even try to spread your idees through the hashtag. You have not understand ANYTHING of #GamerGate if you're doing that. We're not supporting your idees. Your politics have nothing to do in #GamerGate. Stay out of the hash. Create your own & don't come in the GG one. It's a consumer revolt not a freaking meeting for politics.
