I can't count the times women, including much older women than me, wanted sex with me because they have this stereotype that black men have a huge D.

Aside from the fact that women generally plainly want a guy with big money that can maintain them but hate to do the jobof supporting men while they are trying.

We are objectified for our finances, resources and if you are a Jason Momoa lookalike, for our bodies too. They are no different from men who objectify women, the only difference is men are less picky on who they objectify.

Today, women regularly classify men as being good or bad at sex, and that is pure objectifying of men in the definitive sense, because it sees them as nothing more than sex objects and not sexual beings.

Of course, their relationships suffer because of this, as women often lose interest in sex in an LTR and project this onto their partner.

This underlines the importance of looking if a woman views sex as part of a relationship or something just for herself, and men should have advocates helping them leave toxic relationships where the woman feels sex is not part of the relationship.

Not enough men break up over sex.

It would be best not to use terms that originate from the oppression of women, even though it would be fair. All it does is give women an easy out (however illogical) to paint us as merely being retributive.

How about seeing men in a utilitarian way? It’s not enough for a man to be a good person who cares about you, he needs to do things for you and be a resource.

I know it’s not as sexy of a term, but it’s accurate and less likely to be dismissed.

There are many cases, both I saw on social media and even personally experienced it.

Touching, obsessing over men and biy bands, "best bulge collection on some magazines" paparazzi photos of male stars.

Let me touch your hair/body etc.

Many of these can be wanted, but if its unwanted its uncomfortable. Sometimes there is a bit of societal pressure to let it happen so other guys and girl see you are not shy or "lame".

Then dont forget all the stories of drunk women.

Then all those cases where the woman is basically out of the relationship but stays for money or a place to live despite not in the relationship in a mental sense.

I think its way past time for women to admit that they are sexual creatures too and exploit its positive aspects (complementing men, being more proactive in relationships) while also curbing back the negative part (unwanted touch etc)

In a lot of ways.

Sexual objectification by using them for sex. Think BL/yaoi, idols, stan/simp culture, etc.

Financial objectification by using them for money. Think expecting men to pay for their first date, using their husband’s money to buy fancy clothes, etc.

Security objectification by using them as a shield to protect them. Think running into a mugger or some shit with the man being forced to protect her and the family.

Provisional objectification by using them to provide for them and the family. Think expecting their husbands to work their ass off in order to afford food, water, shelter, electricity and whatever necessity there is.

I think the whole idea is basically political nonsense. As people, we view the world around us and make decisions based on what we see and this includes observing other people. Does someone look friendly or intimidating or sexy? It’s human nature to assess these types of things and it’s nothing we should apologize for.

If women didn’t want this, they wouldn’t spend so much time selecting flattering wardrobe, doing their hair and makeup.

In looking for ways men are objectified too, one is inherently buying into the feminist premise that viewing other people and making assessments about them is somehow wrong. Better to just acknowledge this is human nature IMO.

Object: “a person or thing to which a specified action or feeling is directed.” So, by definition we all objectify and are all objectified regularly. Again, this is the nature of interacting with the world around us.

The advice I’m going to give my son is to only date women under 26 for as long as it’s not creepy. It’s too hard to figure out if a childless woman in the 29-40 age zone actually loves you for you or is just realizing she needs to hurry up and pick if she wants a family and you make enough to fit the bill.

Women definitely do sexually objectify men....is all over the media and hard to deny....though I'm sure they find a way.

I often also hear that women are objectified from a young age through toys.....Barbie ext and that's why it's "different". But if you point out that male toys do the same ...He-man ext....they don't like it...as it doesn't fit with the narrative.

Women do definitely also use men as "security objects"....where "security" can imply financial and/or actual protection...or lots of things. And when the "security" is weakened they lose interest....unless they also see the man as a sex object.

I have often thought that this is a type of "internalised misandry"......

-That men are a disposable commodity to die in wars to protect women and pay the bills.

-The fact that male victims of crime, Especially at the hands of women (IE Johnny Depp) are doubted and laughed at...even in the face of overwhelming evidence.

-family court and how hard it can be to see your kids if the mother is playing games.

-alimony.

-white knighting - with men and women being programmed to defend women from other men no matter if she is right or not.

And probably lots more examples....I think it all fits under " internalised misandry".

I'm of the opinion that the definition of objectification should include this phenomenon you described because it feels the same for the person who is the victim of it.

But it is not defined that way academically, because the social sciences are dominated by women and influenced by the dominant culture at the time. I don't know if there is an actual word to describe what you experienced but I do see the connection to sexual objectification.

I believe the correct word is "shallow" and applies to both men and women that objectify humans. Humans aren't objects. We're living, breathing, thinking homo sapiens. Until people figure that out we're going to be living in a crappy world. But that's just my opinion and we're all entitled to one.

Depends, cause they can all for the same objectifications.

Women - sex object, mother, carer, emotional supporter (find that one funny as I've always been the emotional support in every relationship xD), income provider, cook, love giver, teacher

Men - sex object, father, defender/fighter, financial supporter (ironically my mother has always been this after my dad fucked his back up), provider, fixer, discipliner, teaching support (jk, still teacher)

In both cases, most of it is the same, but as should be expected, some are opposites. A kid when very little is more animalistic and responds more to gutteral tones when naughty (or at least mine do) which is easier for a man to manifest cause of naturally deeper voices. Similarly the defender and emotional support bounce off one another. One is in the moment, the other is after the fact.

These are of course all stereotypes, and men care and women can fight. But we're talking objectification so this is what people expect from the other side. When in reality, both men and women do all of the above.
