It’s not about making date safer, this became a thing for a couple reasons.

1) Globalization/ Individualism/ capitalism We have fewer close families/communal ties than ever before. In the past most women would have known the reputation of a man because people were not moving around like there are today. In the distant past were you were born, is where you spent you entire life, and where you died. In the west we are moving around, maybe moving to a new city for job or opportunity, making buying a house in a new state because its cheaper etc. It’s the norm in the west to not know your neighbors. In places like NYC you pretty much mind your business, and a good chunk of the people are transect thus have no known “reputation” in the man for the women to vet. Also in the west, tech bro think they can use tech to “solve” a billionaire dollar problem. That app is just a whisper network packaged a little different.

2) Dating Double Standards. Men and women don’t date the same, and women don’t want men to date the way they do so they use shame. We’ve all heard younger women say, don’t keep all your eggs in 1 basket. Date around date multiple guys at the same time and it’s all good. The problem is when they find the guy that checks all the attraction box’s for them, more so when they are attractive and have resources. Women understand that if they see value in a man, than other women probably do too. And women like “preselected” men. Women use shame to discourage men from dating like they do; to secure exclusivity from the high value ones they like; or slander a man they lost because they are scorned. That app/fb group is just a centralized place to shame, dox, and post revenge.

3) “Safety” as a marketing point Most dating relationship violence happens with close ties; men women already know. I’m not an abuser so I don’t know the cycle. But a man with a document history of domestic violence would be easy to background check. Saying it’s about safety is just marketing; not sure if you can ~turn a wife beater into a husband like you can’t turn a huzz into a housewife~. The male version of this would be a safeguarding a male “emotional safety” so he doesn’t over invest to much into a women with an extensive sexual history like old only fans or being the community bike in another town she left.

4) Unequal Information Dating in a globalized world, obviously leads to imbalance in information for both sides. Women/feminist claims to preach equality for men and women, but it’s really about privilege for women and status quo/oppression of men (especially non select men). This app is for women to confirm the one they like is a fuckboy, which is a good thing to be in their eyes. A male version of this like “~Huzz Fax~” would instantly be taken down; even though some women say “past doesn’t matter/ body count doesn’t matter”. This app proves it does only when women benefit.
