Reading this before reading the top post was pretty funny. Come on guys, the Wall Street Journal? Here's another secret to good text game: Don't take seduction advice from Elizabeth Bernstein. And don't take financial advice from Mystery.

TofuTofu's on the money, once again. There's no way to really build attraction through text game. It is particularly impossible if you haven't f-closed. Text messaging is just a byway into meeting up again to do the real work.

I would disagree, You can create attraction through via Text but not as much attraction if its in person.

Especially Day Game phone numbers, if you had an 5- 10 mins interaction alot of attraction and comfort is through texting or calling. Usually you can tell how much a girl is into you by double texting and speed of the reply. (duhh).

Like TofuTofu said, when you first text her the starting point depends on how much attraction is built when you "met her" in real life. If your Real life interaction is great then you can text a little bit and ask her out with no flakes. However, if the interaction was mild or not "great" then you have to work for it more in text game.

For a beginner yes, Improve on your face to face and you will improve alot faster but to be a great overall pua you need to work on text game/call game.

simple tips - - Be positive - Depending on the girl, use words like cool or awesome or amazing to transition into another topic
I.E. - G: Hi how are you? or boring topic blah blah M: you know whats really amazing that happen to me today or I am feeling soo awesome right now Because ______

Tease her and push and pull like you do in real life interactions.
Tell funny stories that isnt a page long, something short.
After a story ask a question that make her talk about her self like if you were talking about cats or soemthing ask her if she have any pets. then ask her whats the craziest story about her pet etc.
rinse and repeat.
once you feel that the buying temp is high enough for example - she double text you more than once or reply really really fast then just finish your train of thought and ask her out.

"Text game" is just a tool. A tool that gets abused and overused. I personally enjoy the text game because I can do it when it's convenient for me (I happen to be very busy). E.g. I get 2-3 minutes between a meeting & I can drop a quick flirty remark. However I keep it limited.

That being said - you are still right in that building attraction prior to #-close is the best way.

So I posted the WSJ article and I think it's getting taken the wrong way. I don't know about everyone else, but The preferred method of communication of people around my age (25) is texting. Male, female, it doesn't matter. If texting wasn't useful in any way, it would exist, and certainly not at the level of popularity that it does. That said, the article is not about game. The author who wrote it wasn't speaking to any seduction community. She was speaking to adults who come off as whiney, petty, manipulative bitches because of texting, and if there is one thing I'm certain of after learning about game, is that hot girls, or any self-respecting female for that matter, is instantly repulsed by such behavior.

If the application of this article doesn't jump out to some AFCs or anyone struggling to get to where they want to be, then my initial evaluation of the seduction community was way off. The reason I posted the article was not so people could learn "texting game" from the WSJ (how anyone got the impression this was a seduction article baffles me), but so you may realize the problems with frequent texting that you may not have before. I know I've made the mistake #closing and then texting too frequently. The whole point of the post was to get people to evaluate their how they use texting, and realize they should limit it significantly with girls they are seducing. Don't text women you're attempting to attract like you text anyone you have a platonic relationship with. You may think it's normal but could be misconstrued.

tl;dr people are misinterpreting the reason I posted the WSJ article, assuming it was geared towards a seduction audience, and should think more critically about a non-seduction's article applications to seduction.

I have to agree. Got the number of a girl that comes into my work from time to time. Haven't really had a chance to talk to her much because I have stuff to do when she comes in.

Tried texting a little, and it's clear it's just not working. Oh, well, at least she's not a regular customer.

Completely agree with TofuTofu on this one. The best text game can't trump a well played face to face.

Sure its not IMPOSSIBLE to build comfort or attraction through text...but its so much more volatile.

Text and phone I only use to set up meet ups. Unless I have already F-closed them OR they are JUST friends, I'm okay with texting for things other than that. Once in a while I'll throw in something to help comfort or attraction, or to maybe bridge from the meetup. But I try to no start a conversation of texting back and forth...that should be done face to face.

I strongly agree with this statement. Building attraction over texting is very forced and unnatural. Negging and other staples of flirting comes across as forced, even if you dot your txts with ;-p's

get them ioi's before the # close. plus, how the hell would u # close w/o getting at least some ioi's?

Rule 1: Wait twice as long to text a girl back as she takes to text you.
Rule 2: Always be the last one to text, leave her hanging.
