I was pretty sure it was a troll after a few comments where the OP was commenting with things that were just blatantly anti-woman, which were rebuked, and then they stopped.

It is okay to hit women in some circumstances. Just like it's okay to hit men in some circumstances. It was a pretty shit troll tbh. If anything the troll revealed MRAs to be what they actually are, people trying to push equality among the sexes. If this person honestly believes any comment, let alone the combination of them all, discredits MRAs, they must be delusional (or more likely brainwashed of any objectivity).

While it was quite low, underhanded, and dirty of her to do this, I see a point in the article that we might benefit from.

If that were a real situation, then I whole heartily agree with the general message we conveyed, I think we could have been gentler about it. There were some comments of "knock the bitch out, she deserved it" type nature. I think a better response would be "It was wrong of you to hit her and should not have happened, though her wrong was greater and if completely necessary then it is a justifiable and correct action."

We are still a budding movement, and people are skeptical of us. We need to tip toe and watch how we phrase things. Imagine how much women's rights would have accomplished 50 years ago if they behaved as feminists do now. Not a whole lot.
