I don't want to defend anyone, let alone a feminist, but may I suggest that this is not really an unique scenario? We are all people here, I suppose, and we should know better than to underestimate human nature. People simply do those things. You might feel specially annoyed at the women doing it in here, but it doesn't change the fact that men also do it over at 2XC. Meh, it happens. Paying them any attention is what fuels most of those people. PM the mods, do some stalking, confirm the trolling and ban the creeps; silently. Complaining is just paying them the attention they seek.

Besides, what did you expect? They are feminists. I've met some that even claim heterosexual relationships are unnatural and that the media feeds it to us in order to stay in control (or something along those lines). Srsly. FemiNazi (it's what I call them when they insist on claimming a label).

The purpose of the trolling is not to make the /r/mensrights subreddit look bad to people who visit it on a regular basis, but rather to make it look bad to anyone who might happen upon it.

There's some good content in here. Good content that some people don't want discussed. They can't censor it directly, so plan b is to soft censor it by mixing it with so much offensive crap, plausible offensive crap, to discredit everything at once to a casual outside observer.

Stop using universals in your statements. Any person with a brain can see whether an opinion is merely professing hateful misogyny or misandry. Anyone who does profess these kinds of opinions should be ignored. If a feminist is for anything besides equality of the sexes, then he/she should be ignored. Dear Manchildren,

We men in the United States enjoy virtually every manner of privilege there is. For some of you, enjoying virtually every undue advantage there is has become boring. So you've cultivated a troubling persecution complex.

I would urge you all to stop viewing feminism through some bizarro land funhouse mirror. I would urge you not to let the actions of any one feminist speak for feminism in general, just like you wouldn't do the same for virtually anything else in the world (assuming you were a thinking person). I would urge you to consider the possibility that the "recent experience" referenced in the OP was clearly meant to be read as sarcasm.

I would also urge you not to respond to this post with irrelevant side issues. Are there scenarios in contemporary society where men are at an unfair disadvantage? Certainly there are. But those disadvantages are set into the context of a much larger net benefit in terms of privilege, which is to say that yes, there are examples of men being at a disadvantage, but the advantages of being a man in our society far, far, FAR outweigh them.

That of course doesn't make those disadvantages right. But too many of you seem to believe that feminism is the idea that women ought to be considered superior to men. I'm sorry to say, but if that's your idea of what it's about, you've entirely missed the point. My understanding of feminism is that it's as much about erasing disadvantage towards men as it is about women. It's just that the examples of disadvantage towards women are legion. And the only way to go about affecting positive change is to begin to wear away the undue privilege granted to men. That's the point that I really believe has so many of you up in arms. Sure there are legitimate examples of men being treated unfairly. But what seems to be enraging so many of you is the fact that you misconstrue the dismantling of unjust privilege with an assault on men. And frankly, you are the sort of people that make those of us men capable of reasoned thought so fucking embarrassed.

I hope this is the last time I have to step foot in this intellectual fucking vacuum.
