I think it's a bad look when you try to justify bigotry because of anecdotal experiences involving 1 or 2 of a group that contains billions of people, and it says a lot about you if your first instinct upon seeing any form of that bullshit is to defend it

Poor guy. Always the same story. He’s the only decent man in her life, right? Maybe even the world. Until they break up and she proceeds to include him in her misandrist speech too, talking about how abusive he was (probably for standing up for himself) and about the “emotional labor” he put her through. Oh, and if you’re unlucky enough, maybe even a dose of bodyshame, as bodyshaming their exes is one of the favorite sports of women who hate men. We gotta teach men that a misandrist’s love for you (or should I call it lack of hate for you, which seems more fitting) is conditional and temporary. Preserve yourselves, guys.

I don't think men are any worse to women than the other way around.

I mean look at MGTOW. Their complaints are legitimate, and focus around things like nagging, hypergamy, and divorce rape. People just don't like the misogyny there.

Are we going to go ahead and say that the MGTOW people are justified in their hatred of women because they have been mistreated?

It's such a bullshit argument. I was sexually assaulted by a woman, I suffered domestic abuse by a woman and have had years of therapy because of it.

So in their logic I would be justified to say I hate women, however if I would say that, you know exactly how they would react.

To clarify: I don't hate women at all and thanks to therapy I'm actually in a very loving relationship right now.

I don't understand people sometimes.

Hating men is not female empowerment, yet they act like it.

Unwanted or offensive comments about women are sexiest and misogynistic, but the same comments towards men are perfectly fine.

George Floyd's death is unacceptable (which is good, it's really NOT acceptable) and "go back to your country" is racist (which it is) but "kill all men" is perfectly okay. Toxic Masculinity is bad but toxic femininity is celebrated.

Male showing attraction or admiration is wrong but female sexualizing themselves or others is sexual liberation.

Incels are misogynistic(which sadly they usually are) but femcels or people who just sound like they hate men because they're butt hurt is fineeeee.

Men blaming women is sexist, but a women blaming all men for her bad decision is "speaking the truth"

Hating men is fine because is fear (which if I may add isn't a valid source due to it lacking rationality) and bias statistics which claims men are almost always the rapist (which isn't true) is acceptable but if I ever call that out I'm a misogynist.

All of this coupled up with all the misconceptions of how we actually view women, how we talk about them and how we "don't have to deal with things like sexual assault or rape" and their lack of understanding about men. Lots of people, specially on social media also tends downplay men's issue.

Rape? "most victim are females"(misleading) and "most male are raped by males anyways" (which is not true).

Our right to protect ourselves in case the offender is a women? It's just "can we hit back" for them (which is downplaying the issue)

This is not to say women don't face sexism. I'm not trying to invalidate female experiences here, but wouldn't society be better off if we aim for equality for everyone instead of addressing a gender neutral issue in a female-centric way?

My response to that is that there are men who have been traumatized and abused by women who may now generalize all women due to trauma. Those traumatized men would still be considered bigots and misogynist by our standards, their trauma would not have any impact on our judgement of their bigotry.

With that said, traumatized or not, a person who hates an entire population is still a bigot, full stop.

Women are consistently being mistreated by men

The stupid thing about this statement is that it's a carefully disguised tautology. Of course it is true that consistently, throughout time there will be men mistreating women. There will also be women mistreating men, white people mistreating black people, black people mistreating white people, and some members of every group mistreating every other group in existence because that is human nature. We are not perfect. But this statement is so vague that it can mean literally anything. I'm guessing that what they meant though was that men hurt women at much higher rates than women hurt men, (the rape culture argument, etc.) and that is nonsense of course.

You'd think that if she's in a relationship with the guy, she would at least see that he's different, even if what they're saying is true and most men are scumbags. The fact that she can't even show her partner the respect of not badmouthing his gender when she's clearly feeling safe enough to not break up with him is disgusting. If I were him, the relationship would be over.

Also nonsense. Most men have traumatic experiences that involve women. Define "trauma", it can mean a lot of things. If they mean trauma in the literal clinical sense though then this is outright false.

I think that what happens is women who have been legitimately hurt by men form these echo chambers, and people get mired in these echo chambers without ever moving past their trauma because all they ever hear is other stories from other victims. So they get a false sense of how often bad things happen, since every person they talk to feeds their confirmation bias (which we all have, we're human). Then they go on to be extremely vocal about their experiences, creating overrepresentation outside of their own group to the point where the beliefs being expressed here are mainstream, even among women who haven't been victimized as well as men themselves.

And while I do feel bad for them, I believe they need to recognize that what they have is androphobia and work earnestly to overcome it. Indeed, if this was the feeling expressed then I would have genuine sympathy for these women. But they need to recognize that their anecdotal experience does not give them a right to slander all members of one group, or else it is no better than someone who got mugged by a black man thinking that all black men are criminals.

Before i say she is a misandrist, i would like to know why she feels that way. Unless there is some sort of personal trauma, i wouldnt want to live with someone who hates an entire gender for no reason
