Some men really get so fucking mad when women do this too, despite the fact that tons of men will literally do the same themselves. A very hypocritical "women are whores" type of mindset.

Like, I wish I had a link to the thread (outside of FDS anyway) but everybody was attacking OP because she was talking to two guys at once, and not hiding that fact from either of them. People calling her all these names, despite the fact that she wasn't actually committed to anyone, and was being upfront about that.

Everybody is aware and cool with it, but some of these toxic ass men will still attack women for daring to play the field, and find their best option. These men loooooove to flex their alpha male "ability to win women", but throw a temper tantrum at the very thought of actual competition.

They'll really think ya'll are in a committed relationship just because you've gone on a date with them. Like, no, that's called testing the waters to see if you want to be in a relationship, it's not instantly a relationship. They don't like to actually have to put in the work of impressing their date, they think simply getting the date grants them exclusive rights to you.

In the 1950s, it was normal and encouraged for women in the US to date several men at once because that was easier and the fastest way to find out who the right guy for you was. Any of those dates only became a "big deal" once the girl chose and accepted "going steady" with someone, which is when one guy was chosen above all the others.

I don't know why the 1960s threw that totally normal, healthy, and efficient way for women to date. Other than men wanting to "lock down" as many women as they can and waste our time so they told us it's evil for us to play the field (narrowing our choices so we'd most likely end up with the first guy who asks us out), while they continued to play the field in secret (maximizing their options while minimizing ours).

funny how men realize they're not ready for a relationship after they did relationship stuff with you... like plan vacations together and concerts for next year, meeting their grandma in the hospital, their friends and their family. oh, not to mention the sex and literally living together for weeks.

but I guess they are't ready so.... block.

Let me see how much I can recall: Basically, male promiscuity is a bigger threat to women than female promiscuity is to men because the risks of being abandoned with a child are more harmful to more people than the risks of raising another man's kids.

Female promiscuity, in this light, is protection against abandonment. One man could always abandon you and his child, but you will never get simultaneously abandoned by all of the men you're seeing. If one man leaves, other men/a man are there to support you and any children. So female promiscuity acts as a hedge to risks of physical vulnerability, potential poverty, and the intensive labor required to raise a child.

Promiscuous men are a bigger health threat to women than vice versa, as women are twice as likely to get STIs from men who have them.

Promiscuous men are a societal problem, as their children receive fewer economic resources, resulting in a less educated, more impoverished population with less adequate health options during their developmental stage. Promiscuous men's behavior burdens their community and society extensively over a multi-generational time period. The reason they burden their environment more than promiscuous women burden theirs goes to the gestation period imposed on female reproduction. A promiscuous woman can only have one child per year (at most). A promiscuous man can father hundreds of children in a short period of time. His resources are then stretched across a large pool of offspring.

Promiscuous women are not statistically at risk for abandoning their children, so they do not pose the same economic and safety threat to their communities and society at large.

ETA2: for clarity, I don't think dating multiple men constitutes promiscuity, FYI. Just thought of this as the same arguments against are used for both promiscuity and rotational dating.

Out of curiosity, is it common for guys to straight up tell you they're not ready for a relationship? When I date, I keep men on their toes, and they aren't sure exactly how much I like them, so they never say they aren't looking for a relationship, since they aren't secure enough to even bring something like that up.

Yes! Many months back a guy i was talking to told me that he was “not ready for a relationship because his ex broke his heart too badly”. I didn’t tell him bye straightaway but I let him know I was continuing to swipe other guys. That scrote had the audacity to be jealous and pissed that I was looking out for someone else! What did he expect me to do? Sit around and give him exclusive access to my time and body until he changes his mind? Smh

I love this. Since FDS and a year of inner work, I have kept pretty much a steady stream of fun, interesting, dinner dates with men I am attracted to. 90% don’t work out past one or two dates, but I have fun on the dates anyway, have good conversation, and great food. I’ve had 3 dates with 3 different men at nice restaurants in the same weekend before. I’m never going back to dating the old way. 🥰

No matter how good a date is going, always reply to a text/dating app message while he’s in the bathroom or away for any reason. So important to remember you have options and to not get invested in any one guy!!
