A sports clothing brand asked me to be in one of their small ad campaigns. I do triathlons and I was a little surprised by the offer as I am not very well known and there are at least a hundred woman better at this sport than I am. But I liked everything about it, the photoshoots were fun, the pictures are great , I got a nice fee, and they would use the pictures on their own website and as ads on some relevant sports sites.

Then the campaign goes live and I don't see the pictures in many places, fine with me, yet a lot of men seem to have found them and looked for my contact details.. This worried me because you would have to do quite a bit of research to even find my name, let a lone my e-mail.

One or two dating requests would have been creepy but it's already over 30 of them in my e-mail and I stopped reading my Twitter and Instagram messages. As if any woman would even consider these requests knowing these men have been digging on social media to find a name and address after only seeing some pictures of me in a swimsuit and not knowing anything about me..

Some of the most surprising:

A man, 30 years my senior, from LA (I live in Europe) had it all worked out, he would pay for my flight and 5 star hotel in LA so we could have some dates and if I liked him he would pay me $10.000 a week to come and live with him... (I never even replied to any of his emails, but he kept sending pictures of his houses etc.)

A guy who tells me I must have a great character because I look so fit. Paraphrasing his email: 'This isn't purely based on looks, but the way you look tells a lot about your character and I love you.' (huh?)

Some guys explaining they are not like other men and wouldn't normally do this but they are sure we would be a great match and I should at least have a drink with them to find out. (I've looked up some of these guys on social media and I am pretty sure I saw some with girlfriends.)

Guys who want to workout with me but live between 100 and 500 miles away.

And plenty of sex request, but that wouldn't surprise most of us in this sub;)

Anyway I thought of this sub right away and how much I learned here to understand these men better and not even reply to any, yet in a strange way I still feel a little grossed out (Is that English?*) and I will need a few weeks or months to recover before I can date again.
