Yeah, and Men go through a LOT more than people (Women) realize...

Unfortunately nobody recognizes it, or even cares...

[–]Trollet87 62 points63 points64 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Man Up! /S

[–]bacon-wrapped-steak 30 points31 points32 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's what I was told for the last 36 years. I don't know if I can handle any more "manning up." I'm exhausted and at the end of my limits.

[–]c4ptnh00k 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

There is a politician here in Alabama that is running a campaign ad where she uses this phrase... it's killing me slowly every day.

[–]bibkel 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That’s sad. Both sexes (genders?) have their own unique struggles growing up and as adults. To discount the other isn’t fair to either.

I’ve asked another commenter to expand o the trial and tribulations men go through. I know the female side. I think it should be shared what the male experience is, without resorting to bashing women.

[–]aknabi 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Funny as she probably ripped it off from HBO’s VEEP (where it was a very subtle jab of rabid feminists as I recall, though could be wrong)

[–]YesYesYesVeryGood 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well said.

[–]bibkel 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Will you please expand on this? I know what I’ve been through, but I’d like to hear about growing up and adulting as a male. (I’m not being sarcastic, I think it’s a valid statement, and should be detailed more for women to read about.)

[–]the-first12 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

For starters, when did you register for the draft?

[–]bibkel 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I absolutely agree that if there is a draft, ALL should be required to sign up. I’m over 50. I didn’t have to sign up, but I did explore options for military service before my life took a turn.

Being forced to sign up, knowing you could be required to basically sacrifice your life just as it begins with no choice is terrifying. I had a choice in that matter as a female.

This is what I am looking for, thank you.

[–]Ok_Stress_4977 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I don’t think parents should have to. No one should have to leave their kids for it.

[–]bibkel 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That’s unfair to childless people, and I hate for people to avoid the draft by creating more people that they may not necessarily want, or have the capacity to raise well.

I understand WHY there is a draft, I just don’t agree with it. Plenty of people volunteer to serve in the armed forces, but come war time I think many would step up as the Ukrainian people have. At least to depend home turf.

[–]Ok_Stress_4977 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don’t agree with it at all but no kid should lose their parents over it

[–]LondonDude123 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Okay, in a very overall big picture way: Nobody (that I can see here in the comments) is questioning that Women are struggling. However I say MEN are struggling and you ask for clarification. Very telling...

[–]bibkel 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

You misunderstood me then. What I want is the male perspective detailing the struggles men face in their lives, that is specific to men. Why? Because while I understand on an empathetic outsider level, I think it is important for men to detail those struggles so women may understand what you are up against, in your words.

I feel bad for men these days, in a dating world that could turn on a dime and accuse you of rape, or abuse for example in an instant of misunderstanding (or let’s be honest, in a setup looking for a payday). Some women are witches.

Other women, however, simply don’t understand that men don’t pick up on the hints they drop then get upset when they don’t get what they want or need from the man. An example is a silly reality show that sucked me in: Love is Blind on Netflix. One person, Danielle, created these arguments out of literally nothing. It was infuriating to watch her spin this web of “I can’t deal with this right now” and walking away when it was a non issue to start with. The communication breakdown happening between her and her fiancé ends up on both sides, because women don’t get how men operate, and men don’t get how women operate. Especially in this twisted reality we have now, where a glance is considered sexual harassment, and gender dysmorphia is at an all time in your face high. You can’t win, no matter what you do.

So, again, while I know the struggles I’ve had as a female, I want men to post theirs, detailing what they experience and how they handled it as well as misunderstood actions they have taken that were taken wrong and caused issues that could have been avoided had the female involved understood the underlying reason for that action or reaction. I know right know it’s almost a curse to be a cis male, especially a white one. Explain why you experience this, in your own words, rather than let me assume I know why.

Dows that make sense?

[–]Great-Gap1030 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This lady has balls to ignore the reverse.

[–]JustSomeGuy2008 37 points38 points39 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The balls on people to say shit like this without realizing that the reverse is obviously true as well. Especially considering we live in a society where women get an entire month dedicated to them, on top of already being the gender that humanity is designed to prioritize.

But yeah, act like it's distinctly a woman thing to have your experiences and issues ignored.

[–]InterestingStation70 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't you realize? The shift from "Equality" to "Equity" is am inconcious admission that feminists want more for women than men. They want to have their cake and eat it too.

[–]Feministsareincels 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Month ?, everyday is women's day

[–]manbro7 116 points117 points118 points 4 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

The gender that complain about "emotional labor" because their partners, brothers or fathers got sad and they had the inconvenience of showing empathy and (some) called this "emotional labor."

You go through so much when women are the only group on the entire planet who have ever complained about basic human tasks and saw them as labor

[–]ABBucsfan 31 points32 points33 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Don't even think they can all agree on a proper definition. Some say it's mundane tasks like making appointments or organizing birthdays, micro managing (dunno how that's emotional). It's all bs and the later they love.at one point it had a legit definitiok for people public service workers putting up with strangers bs... But of course it got hijacked by feminists.

I remember mentioning something to ex about well when we go to shared custody and if you're working yeah I may have to do more organising some of these things.. she said I work more than 40 hours jjts to make ends meet.. so I asked the kids later oh did your mom get a job? Nope. In fact she has two exchange students that she gets to shovel the driveway and look after kids if she has to run out (even though they pay to live there already).

[–]Diesel-66 19 points20 points21 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Don't even think they can all agree on a proper definition. Some say it's mundane tasks like making appointments or organizing birthdays, micro managing (dunno how that's emotional)

And the best part is that stuff is mostly cared about by other women. They are "suffering" to please women but it's men's fault

[–]ABBucsfan 16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's true.. most of the stuff they spend so much time fussing over I couldn't care less. Not that I don't care about time with other kids or birthdays..but mine would be a lot less complicated and more stress free

[–]GodBirb 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

These are the same women saying that supporting themselves without a husband is as bad as the husband being forced to fight for his country.

Ain’t a man alive that wouldn’t rather leave the country to raise kids instead of dying as a pawn for political powers, yet they still think that it’s harder…

[–]Sperm40mmSprintChamp 30 points31 points32 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Emotional labor is 100% on the person saying it. It's just a slang term to shift blame for "I'm being too dramatic about something, so it's your fault"

[–]InterestingStation70 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Now that I'm working a retail job, I find that it does take mental effort to control my emotions. But because I'm a man societies places it's expectations on me: 1) If I don't show emotion I'm useful as a worker, but I'm an unemotional stoic robot and a defective human. 2) If I do show emotion then I'm seen as blowing up over nothing, probably going to turn dangerous/violent, and taking attention away from women. This means I'm a hot headed rage demon monster and a defective human.

I'm told it's "Toxic Masculinity"for men to suppress their emotions, but also told that I should suppress any and all emotions that keep me from being a good worker bee for society's benefit (especially the women). Damned if I do, Damned if I don't.

[–]AlephNull89 18 points19 points20 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Everyone goes through shit that no one realizes. Because the world, generally speaking, doesn't give a fuck about anyone.

[–]Final_Collection_515 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It literally goes both ways

Men go through a lot women don’t even realize but when they try to say that it’s met with “misogynist” or “men don’t have struggles”

[–]1500minus12 45 points46 points47 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Translation: Men don’t want to listen to my perceived hardships in life.

[–]brokedown 19 points20 points21 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I for sure am not interested in hearing some ultra privileged woman who makes a living pretending complain about how hard she has it in this world compared to me.

[–]UnconventionalXY 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Princess: my life is so hard with that pea under my bed.

[–]Alarming_Draw 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

says the woman who surfed through life on her looks from the moment she became an adult and got cast in the bruce springsteen video to when she was paid literally a million dollars every single episode of friends they made, to when she then got promoted to become a powerful Hollywood producer.

Shes LITERALLY never worked a real job her entire life and just lived like a fucking princess. and ruined her face with endless surgery due to countless issues. which im sure she blames on men too....

[–]ABeeBox 21 points22 points23 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Botched botox vs Mandatory military service? Hmmmmmm.

She's been complaining a lot about her surgery recently. She is pushing the societal "pressures" of trying to be attractive when it's mostly other women criticising other women more than men

I'd even say other women criticise other men more than men. If you're under 6' and a 7/10 or lower.. you're nothing to some of these Radical people.

[–]InterestingStation70 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'd posit that about half of the societal expectations that feminists ascribe to Patriarchy and misogyny are actually die to women. For example, feminists talk a lot about women being kept from working many jobs. Some of that was due to men and misogyny, true, but a lot of it was due to mothers trying to protect their daughters from the high risk of injury and death that many of the jobs entailed.

As for dress codes and fashions, most of those are set by other women. In fact, many "rules" of fashion (ex. "Don't wear white after Labor Day") are made by women to make themselves look better than other women. Both Conservative and "Progressive" (ie. Leftist) women push different fashions to differentiate themselves from the other group.

Lastly, while women claim that men run the world, women are often the Queen Bees of society (think Oprah) who hold massive social influence, often ignored by Feminists. Also women are often the power behind the throne. A man may be the one in charge, but the women in his life shape his choices and have more influence than its obvious.

women go through a lot more than people realise

being a mom to teenagers

men go through a lot more than people, including she, realises too

being a dad to teenagers

[–]BradenAnderson 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You notice that the people who say things like “Be kind to everyone, you don’t know what struggles people face” are often the first ones to attack men when they struggle?

[–]FatherOfLights88 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I always find it a little disingenuous when someone who has enjoyed abundance and celebrity for several decades talks about how bad they have it.

[–]heeroena 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She is not 60 yet so how about sending her to Ukraine

[–]ExMuzzy 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There is always a certain bunch of women who think they know what the male life experience is like but men are the ones accused of mansplaining

[–]Soda_BoBomb 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Whoa, people go through a lot sometimes? And some of those people are women! Stop the Presses! Everyone must know!

I'm getting so fed up with this shit.

[–]LeButtMonkey 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh my god, you mean there's more than what they constantly complain about?

[–]Jay-Ames 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I am sure she is right. We don't know about getting periods, pregnancy, hormonal changes, etc. You need to have a vagina to understand what they go through.

That said Women, do not realize what we go through. An example. There is dating video of guy who gives kind of dating advise. He challenged a female dating coach to use his pictures and pose as him on Tinder and get him dates. She said "Oh this is going to be so easy".

A week later she stunned how difficult it was. Let me state again. She is a dating coach. Her job is to give men dating advise! She failed completely.

This is just one example of that they also don't understand the stuff we are dealing with. For some stuff you need to have a penis to understand.

[–]Misandry_Today 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The lamentation of the post-wall woman who finally realizes feminism and social justice movements lied to her.

[–]Huffers1010 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How does Courtney Cox know what I realise?

This sort of thing irritates me in conversation: "It's worse/bigger/better than you think!" How do you know what I think?

And in advertising. "The bathroom of your dreams!" I don't dream about bathrooms.

OK, fine, I know it's just a turn of phrase, but that's the sort of thing that people get jumped on for doing in political debate, and people shouldn't do it.

[–]Feministsareincels 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ok so ?

[–]aigars2 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Every one gets old and dies. Hello

[–]SuperStateSamBamCam 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So she thinks women still haven't sucked enough oxygen out of the room. She sounds completely unaware that when it comes to conversations that focus on the welfare of just one sex to the exclusion of the other, women have already been the focus of 99.999999999% of those conversations for decades.

Ironically, if that had not been the case -- if the hills and valleys of men's lives had been more frequently explored in public fora these past decades -- Courtney Cox would know just how stupid, oblivious and entitled she sounds right now, and how good she's already had it relative to men in this regard.

People that think men don't understand women's problems shouldn't be sent to die. It's pretty common sense that both genders don't understand the others problems.

[–]Remarkable-Cat1337 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

i dont know maybe so much peace made woman forget how precious they are for the state

and stop saying "people" she clearly means men, and when I say "to be sent to war to die" is mostly men, NOT PEOPLE

fuck people

And were heart about it more than you realize

[–]Lumi_s -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I actually don't think this is a poor statement.

We as men probably don't understand a lot of issues that are exclusive to women, and they probably don't understand a lot of the issues that are exclusive to men.

This seems like a nothingburger of a quote to me at least.

[–]BradenAnderson 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You’re right, it shouldn’t be a ridiculous statement. However, when was the last time you heard one of these so-called equality advocates even acknowledge that men have to face any problems at all? No, to these people, all men have it easy. All men are on top of the corporate ladder in their respective fields blah blah blah…

And it’s pretty rich of female celebrities to complain about men not understanding, when the vast majority of men will never reach her career level. That’s why her statement is being criticized

"superior" is the wrong word there. Don't confuse male rights and recognition with blaming/degrading women. Otherwise we're just acting like what feminists accuse us of being. We're different, with different needs and strengths.

World leaders are less than .01% yet you want to pretend they're the baseline for males vs females? From 2016-2019 the UK had a queen and a female prime minister running the show. And to talk of who runs things, the hell does that mean? Congressional women who draft and promote laws, female judges that interpret laws, female governors, female workers just doing their best like the rest of us... There are societal problems that males uniquely face, but we don't have to demean women to address them. If anything, that hurts our cause. Little bitches like you are why no one takes us seriously

[–]SuperStateSamBamCam 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I disagree tha women are categorically inferior but I do think the concept of equality is a lot more complex, nuanced and difficult to work out than human civilization knows right now. Men and women are not the same. For everything we have in common, we have radically different perspectives at times -- to the extent that they sometimes seem irreconcilable. If anyone who helped ratify the 19th Amendment 101 years ago thought achieving equality was as simple as handing women equality under the law, well, such people have very definitely been shown in the intervening years to be mind-blowingly naive, possibly stupid and undeserving of public office. Women have not been satisfied with legal equality. The changes they have demanded and effected over time have been tectonic societal shifts and it's not at all clear that we will survive those changes. I don't think we know how to do this and the worst part is we're not even allowed to say this in public so we can't even try to figure it out together.

At one point, only white, land-owning men could vote. How do you interpret that fact?

[–]mikesteane -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

And only men could be conscripted. And men were responsible for their wives' taxes. And men were responsible for their wives' upkeep. But not the other way round. Women were always privileged.

[–]psuedoscientist500 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I like how women make these statements, but always fail to elaborate on just what it is they go through. It just has to feel like a struggle, then they emotionally validate themselves for it.

Bill Burr was right, white middle class and upper middle class women appropriated the struggles of poor and minority women and made it their own.

I mean I have never gagged on Harvey Weinstein's dick for a role so I guess actresses do go through much more than me.

Yeah, usually men don't suffer ruining their faces with surgery.
