So I happened on a couple of random videos (Chris Williamson & Mary Harrington: Modern Socity is dailing me and women, Slavoj Žižek: Early Signs of Post-apocalypse: the connection between "love" and sex is seen as patriarchal - there are many others on the same themes)

.. and came to think of the RP mantra: "All relationships are transactional," and how we're always told that women seek men who can provide them with resources (a view TRP have in common with FDS).

I wonder how much of all these problems people seem to have with relationships and sex, are merely manifestations of Late Stage Capitalism. Like how women are increasingly reporting how the men they meet can't keep an erection/ejaculate unless they simultaneously watch (for profit) porn, or try to recreate porn scenarios (here is another interesting thread: Pornsick men).

How basic intimacy is being hijacked by OnlyFans, Sugar Baby sites, and similar (for profit) prostitution corporations. Reportedly, women are increasingly not seeing the reason to be in relationships/have sex with men unless there is a monetary aspect to it. And men are increasingly seeing women as objects they can buy and discard.

How men & women can only meet on (for profit) dating apps. This got an extra kick during the Corona lockdowns. And of course, dating apps have a direct incentive not to foster successful long term relationships.

And so on and on.

Are all the dating, relationship, and sexual problems really downstream from an insidious capitalist contamination which have now injected itself into even our most intimate relations?

I know the RP dudes are going to reply, with something like this is just reality, and its better to live in reality than in a comfortable fantasy, and yada yada. But I wonder if they have just become market objects, and like many slaves have come to love their bonds and servitude.
