The gist of it is that most slut shaming comes from women. It's purpose is to apply pressure against women who are more sexually promiscuous and causes sex to become cheaper amongst the general populace and against the wishes of women who don't like to keep up with the ever increasing market demand of easier access to sex.

Simp shaming plays a similar role amongst men because simping makes access to male attention and commitment much easier to obtain for women and thus not have to put out sexually or be committed to one man.
