The amount of BABY and kid clothes that say things like “The future is female”, “Proud feminist”, “Girls run the world”, “Smash the patriarchy!” etc is just wild to me. Like, really? Your 3 week old daughter is a proud feminist, huh?

Its such a weird reach. Just dress the baby in something cozy and adorable and let them be a baby/not a prop with your message all over them.

The encouragement of narcissism.

I see so many women doing the “I’m gorgeous, I’m sexy, no one can tell me otherwise” dance and that’s touted as self-love.

But then a man rejects them and they have a complete mental breakdown because they can’t consolidate “I’m super sexy, I’m a goddess, I’m so hot” self-love with the idea that a man might not be attracted to them.

So then they start insulting the guy. He’s garbage, he doesn’t know what he’s missing, he’s a loser.

True self love is when you can say, “Yeah, this guy told me he didn’t want me because my breasts are too small or I’m too big for him…that really hurt me, especially because I liked him. But it’s going to be okay. I’ll find someone for me eventually.”

Genuine vulnerability and emotional maturity is being replaced with toxic, aggressive “self-love” that’s actually just narcissism in disguise.

The praise for being lazy and putting zero effort into your appearance. It bothered me a ton in college, then I got married and let myself go. Now that I'm back on track, it bothers me even more and I'm frankly upset I fell into the 'PJs at a store is perfectly acceptable' attire, mindset.

And I hate that the justification is that dressing well means you are constantly seeking male validation. I mean yeah, I dress nice for my husband, but I also like dressing nice for me and feeling more confident in myself as a result.

What are the Feminist motions you don't agree with?

My overall complaint about feminism is the assumption that you are feminist or you are backwards and uneducated.

There is no reason that I should be required to take on an ideology because someone else believes I should. I've found that most people have not thought very much about the things they proclaim they "believe" or "think".

So while women will claim to be pro choice (as a for instance...I'm not staring my own position here), they don't realize that this was basically snuck into the NOW platform at the last minute...or that it's lasting effect was likely the loss of any chance of universal childcare.

There is no examination of issues, it's simply: I believe in rights for women - in whatever form I am told feminism says is good. It gives your brain over to another and I am firmly against that.

We should all be encouraged to read and think about the issues that are important to us. The idea that you are uninformed or unintelligent because you are not following the dictates of the self selected authorities is just a sad state of affairs and IMO makes the movement closer to a religion than an intellectual discipline.

When you ask "Feminists" to define Feminism they almost always parrot the "equality" definition when by every measure the LAST thing they are interested in is anything that is actual equality. Self honesty is just completely missing from their paradigm.

"Pick me" is a made-up propaganda term for women who are "man-friendly" and who don't by into the the "¡Feminista!" dogma. They have to shame feminine women because feminists are at a competitive disadvantage in the SMP. Why? Well, you know who likes feminine, agreeable women? MEN do! So keep on keepin' on. If someone calls you a "pick me" the you know you're doing things right.

I’m 100% for trans rights and believe that trans people are people, too. But this movement has (in my eyes) obliterated actual first wave feminism and what equality women fought for originally. We have a Supreme Court justice who was hired in part BECAUSE she was a woman who cannot define what a woman actually is. We have biological males winning in athletics against biological females because they merely identify as a woman. Hell, the woman of the year is a biological male.

And the vast majority of those who proclaim they are feminists are in lock step with this movement. In my opinion, feminism nowadays is ironically erasing womanhood all together. What does it say about women when what our society proclaims as the “best” women weren’t born women at all?

OG feminism acknowledged the physical, mental, and emotional differences between men and women and praised women for their ability to be mothers; that “they are essential to the nation because they raise the children and could act as respected "companions" to their husbands” (Wollstonecraft writes in “A Vindication of the Rights of Women”; arguably the first major feminist literature written in 1792). She argued essentially that women are human beings deserving of the same fundamental rights as men, and that treating them as mere ornaments or property for men undercuts the moral foundation of society.

Modern feminism is doing just that: it is undercutting the very foundation of society. It is undercutting women, who make up society’s very foundation! For without women, and our special ability to give birth, society cannot be sustained nor prolonged.

I am not arguing that the trans movement should not exist. As I said before, all people deserve fundamental rights, just as Wollstonecraft argued in 1792. But feminists need to once again stand up for their rights and reject that a biological man will ever be a woman. I consider myself a first wave feminist, but I cannot condone what feminism has become. It’s become the very thing it opposed.

Despite some of their complaints being melodramatic and misplaced IMHO ("men can be pathetic if they want, it's fine"), the fact that this kind of thing is common-place and even lauded in many circles is why subs like /r/MensRights exist. Also, if you flip this scenario there would be public outrage in like 99% of Reddit. it's extremely hypocritical.

Pick me is just one retarded attempt for an insult. Couldn't they be more creative in inventing offences? Yes, I am pick me to them, because I submit to my spouse.

One example is that feminists neglect men with issues and being abused. They don't care that 3/4 suicides are male. They also protest about working in a well maintained office but look away from the dangerous jobs like mines and construction zone. They clearly want equality only when it's convenient to them.

Why they ignore the fact that in the past women were housewives without right to vote, BUT men were forced to war? Noone died from no voting, constant victims taken by war.

Also they punish misogyny but why don't they treat misandry the same? If they are true egalitarian, they would do that. Many examples they are, but this comment will become tl dr.

You’re essentially defining yourself in opposition to whatever “women” are doing en masse to show how much better you are.

That can equally be, I’m so down to earth I wear tennis shoes everywhere OR I always dress well, not those slobby girls in pajamas in the grocery store.

It doesn’t matter: other women are facile and bad, you are above them.

It’s seeking male validation by tearing other women down whether in a typically pro- or anti-feminist way. Think Gone Girl’s “cool girl”.

I've seen plenty of pick-me girls, but nothing to do with feminism. Feminist ones try to be quirky and "not like other girls" and also exaggerate confidence for the express purpose to seem more high value. Non-feminist ones shame women for not fitting into their narrow traditional worldview of what a "virtuous lady" is, ironically not seeing that same contempt proves they aren't a lady either. And it's impossible to hide.

Bottom line they are just women who bash other women directly, or via faking "to each their own" while humble bragging about being better, because they want to win men. The phenomenon is real and nothing to do with political affiliation.

There are many reasons why the modern feministic movements, the radical feminism as well as the queer feminism, are highly critical. Some reasons differ a lot because these two feministic trends are partly contradictionary to each other but I think they share the same anti-individualistic core and the same hypocracy. The claim to fight against the oppression of gender norms but don't see the nature of norms in society, so that they just create their own norms which they try to imply with social force. This is the exact same behaviour they accuse the society of. They claim that they know what a woman would and should be without society norms but also reject the idea of a natural form of being of women and men. So the only scale they have is their ideological wish how a woman should be. A woman shouldn't seek male attention because this must be a pathological condition because society told them so, she shouldn't be too typical feminine because men like this and blablabla. They define their "healthy" version of a woman just as the contradiction to all things men could like or benefit from. They argue like there are no different individual women but just one big female politicial bargaining chip.

I despise being treated as a political tool and to be pressured to have one specific opinion (their opion or else I'm a traitor of all women or have internalized misogyny) just because of my biological sex.
