Hi Everyone, 1st time posting here but I have been posting pretty regularly in the Surviving Infidelity forum as I found out my wife was cheating over this summer. The details can be found in my post history but long story short, the stbx and I were married 8 years, I thought things were going well and then found out she stepped out of our marriage, I filed on her and I'm not too far out from getting the decree. We have two small kids under 5 and to be honest its devastating and sudden but as per the advice on these forums, I have been doing my best to accept and move on. The stbx is still seeing AP but I have to imagine the odds of her secret affair with an older twice divorced dude are bound to fail but I dont care, poor choices have consequences and its not my problem anymore.

On that note, as a guy who is nearly 40 but has an excellent career, I'm still in great shape (workout and mountain bike regularly) and I am an educated professional, I just wanted to ask you guys around my age and have gone through the same, how did you all move forward? How much time did you take for yourself after the D to heal and get back to 100%. I'm not looking to jump back into dating right away at all but how is it for a guy with a couple of kids? Ive been out of the game for a while but I'm not gonna lie, it does cross my mind to get some female attention to help balance the scales and get some confidence. What is the best thing to use for meeting someone interested in casual relationships. I dont want to say hookup, that's not my intent but someone to talk, have fun, have good conversation, etc.

Appreciate any advice!

Quick edit: Interesting to note almost all of our stories are around the 38-40 age range. What is it about that age which causes our significant others to cheat??!?!??
