I’ve sure most of us have all heard the horror stories women tell about men that seemed great at first, only to find out those guys are childish, gross, barely functioning adults. “He seemed completely normal, he was so charismatic and confident”.

The horrors stories include but are not limited to “He didn’t have a bed frame or sheets, he’s 27”. As well as “he sleeps bare naked and farts in his sleep and I have to wash the sheets cause he leaves brown streaks”. Oh, let’s not forget the classic “he rages at video games like a baby” and “he can barely cook something on the stove or use the oven”.

Here’s the reason. What is the opposite of confidence? Insecurity. What does insecurity stem from? Self awareness. So wouldn’t that imply that a lack of self awareness would lead to an abundance of confidence? If you are incapable of seeing your own flaws and shortcomings, what reason do you have to be insecure about anything at all? What reason do you have to not believe you’re the greatest person ever?

This is a major problem in the dating world because it causes the biggest piles of human garbage men to appear to be amazing at first. The men with self awareness and the tendency to try to fix themselves are more prone to feelings of insecurity simply from acknowledging their flaws. This creates a resentment for men and a false expectation of what good men are actually like.

It’s very similar to the reason why smart people think they are dumb, and dumb people think they are smart. The ignorance leads to arrogance.

If your male friend is confident as hell but is a complete loser, put them in their place please. He’s part of the problem.
