My sister works in mental health, so she often refrains from diagnosing people with personality disorders/mental illness. When she watched Derrick’s video on this, she instantly called him a manipulative narcissist and it checks out. His use of religion to avoid taking any real responsibility for his actions. His video reacting to the video of him and his wife and making fun of her. The sense of grandiose that makes him believe that rules should apply to others but not him. Referring to himself in the third person to further avoid true accountability. Just an asshole all round.

On her Instagram she has very unsettling posts about being traumatized and constantly comparing herself to other women. She has had severe traumas before Derrick came into the picture ten years ago and I believe he targeted her due to her vulnerabilities as well as her strengths. He used her spirituality against her (he doesn’t believe any of that religious stuff I’ll bet — just uses it as a prop to keep his wife hoping he’s going to be “saved” and redeemed). I believe Derrick coerced her into showing their reconciliation on that video and/or she is too trauma bonded and broken to protest ATM. I can only imagine the horrific mind games she has gone through. Sadly she is using her spirituality as a coping mechanism to rationalize the emotional abuse and disrespect. If Derrick can fool and dupe millions of people and practice blatant hypocrisy and charm (she even noted he is very charismatic) he can condition her for years to believe she’s not good enough through emotional abuse or even physical (we can’t be sure how far it goes). I hope she gets free and finds a way out.

This wasn't a mistake, this was a choice. A choice he made several times. God also says to "Guard your heart" and "be discerning" and "don't give your pearls to pigs." Why are those verses never discussed?

His wife said she left and then came back to the house after she saw "he had changed." This makes no sense because how can a serial cheater change in such a short time. And can I just add that forgiving doesn't have to mean forgetting.

Thirdly, why is he bringing his wife out in sweatpants and casual clothes when he NEVER showed her on his videos or social media. If he can cheat alone he should be able to make an apology video alone.
