I agree with a lot of the comments that this is a light sentence. However, being a little jaded myself, I feel a little relieved that a) they caught her and the family at least knows who the murderer is, b) she is the correct person to have in custody and not someone innocent, and c) she will be incarcerated, and d) she will be incarcerated for at least some years and not months. Sometimes in the legal system, people that are obviously guilty get away with their crime due to many varying factors. So though, in this case, the sentence is not ideal, I am happy there is at least some justice even if it isn’t the best.

This is bullshit. If someone pulls out a gun and shoots someone in self defense. All the prosecution has to do to get them for first degree murder is prove that they hesitated. During that hesitation, they’d argue that you had time to consider your actions and plan to shot that person. Boom. Murder. How is this not the definition of a pussy pass? The evidence shows she went after him deliberately, and after 5 years of legal proceedings, the judge just gives her 6 years? A man would be facing life without question, probably multiple given the audacity of it.

She'll be out in less than 5 for good behavior, and after a couple years of probation, it'll be back to the life she had before.

So, just some perspective. Pre-meditation is more than what she did, she did not start the day deciding to murder someone and making plans, and it is pretty easy to dismiss in this case.

This is murder 100%, but people forget that the court system functions under the assumption of innocence until proven otherwise. Once again she is clearly guilty, but if an argument can be made that it was extreme road rage, than it can become vehicular manslaughter. As gross as it is, gender probably wouldn't have mattered as much as people say.

On a side note, road rage murders are on the rise apparently.
