Do women get discriminated against more than men in the west? In what kind of situations?

If your house were on fire, you'd prefer a man, I guess. But otherwise, excluding particularly risky and physically demanding jobs, what else? This is an extremely important question that rarely gets discussed. It's taken for granted that women are discriminated against almost everywhere more than men. But this is clearly not true. But could it be that women are almost never worse off?
