Think about it. Women are serial monogamists by nature. Serial monogamy, hypergamy and preselection means that trying to mimmick the conditions of marriage (one man and one woman) is inherently fighting against the currents. I think this explains why so many guys get burned and are unhappy with modern dating.

You want essentially the conditions of marriage minus the offspring, security and provision of being a husband. It's simply not going to work most of the time. Thats why people who are unmarried and in a healthy monogamous relationship are called lucky and envied by others. You're fighting the female nature to tear away from you and sort through more men until she finds the one who will marry and settle down with a family.

I'm a Christian so I want marriage but if I'm being real, I think that any man going into casual dating should shoot for polygyny/harem style relationships. By not committing to one woman you're creating a gravity well of preselection where the women are less likely to move on and serial date because their nature switches to trying to be the one he chooses in the end.
Its always been crazy to me how many guys have a hard time keeping one mate around while unmarried; and on the other hand guys who are not aiming for a monogamous relationship seem to have women who are more committed and aren't stepping out themselves voluntarily.

My hypothesis for why this is, is because when women are competing for a preselcted male they know that hooking up with someone else will automatically disqualify them from the competition they will lose the edge in being the one that he finally chooses to commit to.

Visceral conditions like this work far better at containing female hypergamy over moralizing, speaking against their ways or hammering the virtues of being a loyal woman. They simply do not register those things, for women morality and virtue isn't something to be debated or philosophized its a baked in sense of protecting the weak, protect the minorities and not having a mean/anti-social disposition.

Women are very pragmatic creatures and at the end of the day abstract logic is not something that can convince them. When it comes to what is wrong or right it comes down to a feeling that they have and requires no explanation.

I think this concept is part of the original RP but has been perverted and overblown into the idea that men can cheat and women shouldn't. It's a less nuanced and less true over simplification. A man who is known for being a cheater and breaking monogamous boundries over and over again is NOT valued by women. However a man who has multiple concubines and never sets a boundary that he will break is a valued man and he will experience greater loyalty and fidelity from women even if he secretly wants to be monogamous and would be happy with a single loyal partner.
