I don't use the word in that way personally, but I understand it to be the same as "like" in the romantic sense. It's attraction, in a deeper sense than it's often used (a passing whiff of lust or feeling someone looks nice perhaps), feeling like you're drawn towards another person.

There are two elements of the "spark" imo:

1) lust / sexual attraction

2) compatible communication styles, sense of humor, being able to pick up each other's cues easily, relating about emotional experiences and values that come up

It's not a deep connection and it doesn't guarantee more serious compatibility down the line. It's more like, the attraction is there and we aren't getting stunlocked in awkward silences or struggling to flirt at all or something. It means there's sexual tension, laughter, excitement about finding more about the other person.

The spark is the feeling you get when you’re with someone and you can’t see anyone/anything else around you (what they’re doing, who’s passing by).. time kinda slows down and it feels like you’re in a different universe.

The spark is chemistry.

Both are that initial excitement and attraction someone feels when they meet or interact with a potential romantic partner. This spark can manifest as a strong sense of compatibility, shared interests, mutual understanding, and a general feeling of being drawn to the other person.

PPD doesnt understand chemistry isnt just physical looks though.

Ive been on dates with conventionally attractive men that I felt no "spark" with.

Yet, I felt sparks galore with average looking men. Its hard to describe, its a vibe and the way you "gel" with a person, and not just looks.

When you leave you cant wait to be around them again.

It was very difficult for me to feel "sparks" with men via OLD apps. My husband is literally the only man who gave it to me for the 8 years I used apps. Other men from OLD apps I got into relationships with I'd describe more as a "slow burn."

Intense feeling of connection which yields attraction and desire to be even more intimate (in all ways).

Usually in the dead bedroom she's saying she loves him like a friend or a relative, but doesn't feel that deep intimate connection which tends to drive women towards sex.

In the dating context, it's literally the thing that draws you to the other person, just an instant feeling of connection and desire to explore that further.
